An excellent hotel for the price! The room is well appointed, clean, and relatively quiet considering we were facing the PCH. There’s also a nice balcony to sit on. Check in was quick and staff is pleasant. A basic hotel breakfast was included, adding to the value. The location is within easy walking distance to the ocean beach, several great dining options, and convenience stores. You can also safely access residential roads for a quiet walk on either the harbor or ocean sides of the PCH. We would definitely stay again, for a quick beach getaway!

The hotel was SO noisy, the staff were unfriendly and wouldn’t give us towels, the rooms were outdated and grungy and everyone and I mean everyone smoked on the balconies - the whole hotel smelled of cigarettes and marijuana. This was NOT a cheap stay and the hotel property does not reflect the cost.

This hotel is good and bad. Parking is limited and hard to get into if you don't drive a compact. Nice friendly staff. Likely the worst, most worn out bed I have slept on in 40 years. Terrible mattress. Couch was so uncomfortable due to the fact when you sat in it the springs gave way and you sat almost on the floor. And I am average weight. Noisy. Chair for the desk was a joke. When you sat in it it went down to it's lowest setting so you were practically on the floor. Relatively good breakfast. Parking is below the hotel and it does have an elevator. It is close to the water, but you cannot see it.

Our suite was good. There is mold on the tub mat that can easily be corrected instead of just being left. The interior is nice and the balcony that faces the harbor needs to have the bird droppings cleaned up. Overall, we would stay here again if we return to California.

Property is old and outdated. Advertisement states “sound proof rooms”. This is not the case whatsoever. Internet wouldn’t work and neither would tv. A staff member was in my room for 30 min and suggested I speak to the manager. However, they never returned my phone calls. Contacted Expedia directly and I was not helped either. Would not recommend staying here

The hotel is very dated and could use an update. The room smelld musty and had stains on the carpet. The front desk staff was nice. The area directly around the hotel was ok. There were a couple restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

We Really liked the room with jacuzzi inside and with a cozy and nice balcony. Room was clean, no smells, and plenty spacious. However, the large room TV was difficult to operate as there is no tv guide function and difficult to navigate channels. Breakfast room and service was nice and better than most at this price point.When i checked out at the front desk, literally all the staff member said was, "ok!". Really? No "thank you, hope you had a nice stay, bye, or see you next time". She could have been much more warm, cordial and attentive to a friendly departing customer. Needs some customer service training

Its a little dated but overall, a nice stay. We had dinner at Capt Jacks which is so close and incredible which is why i chose this hotel. Very comfortable and I would recommend.

You get what you pay for, sort of...
Traffic noise is remarkable for a place that boasts soundproofing. It is a busy road and you will hear the road noise guaranteed. The bed was extremely uncomfortable but thankfully we got the room with the jacuzzi tub. That saved us. Certainly a needed necessity. Breakfast was okay. Parking was an adventure as I have a full size truck. Real good hot water for the shower, again, a saving grace.

This hotel is very loud especially if you get a room on the street side. During our stay housekeeping walked right inside of our room while we were sleeping without knocking of any kind. We had a late checkout. Thankfully we put the chain lock on the door. The air conditioning needs a tune up. My room needed an air filter change and you could tell, after having the air on for 10 minutes my breathing changed, and I had a tight chest. Would have hoped for better.

This property is in a very good location close to the beach and many local attractions. It shows the benefits of renovations and improvements. The elevator is a very nice touch for a smaller facility. Unfortunately, it faces a busy street and traffic is noisy. Parking is also very limited although street parking is possible nearby. The interior furnishings are very nice and show very good execution by someone who has had interior design experience. The staff was courteous and friendly. They did their best to accommodate us with an early check-in. I would stay in this facilty again if I were in this area.

After a certain time at night you only had access to 7-Eleven across the street. Only one restaurant in walking distance. And they open at 4:30 p.m. prices are a little high. No access to nightlife. No bars or entertainment around

PARKING IS UNDERGROUND ONLY. We could not park our Tacoma with pop up camper in the parking garage. We had to eat the price of this hotel room and go somewhere else. I feel parking situations in hotel listings in general are not given enough thought or enough detail. "Free parking" does not tell us a whole lot

It is only a couple blocks to the ocean. We had a bay view room. We weren't allowed a 1.5 hour early check-in, even though it was mid week low occupancy. It is across the street from a 7-11. A homeless man, about 40, on a skateboard was in the parking garage at 8 PM, who was probably looking for cars to break into. The hall carpet had been flooded and was still wet. The 2nd nite, there was a strong mold smell and my wife had trouble breathing until we got an inhaler at a pharmacy.

We thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our property and it is worth clarifying that we have not had a flooding problem in our hotel. The wet carpet was due to our monthly carpet cleaning (deep cleaning) for hallways and rooms to ensure a clean environment throughout. In reference to the smell of humidity, it is due to the proximity to the harbor, the smell that is perceptible along the beach and locations along the harbor. Being a beach area, residents and visitors to the city frequently do their exercises in the surroundings and it is common for them to enter our parking area due to the good lighting or to take a short break. We appreciate your comment and our staff will be more attentive to these details. If there is any other way we can contact our front desk staff in a friendly manner, we will help you.

So the parking is relatively large place. This place looked like something out of a horror maze. Super creepy vibes. The carpet in the room was wet. The floor had a sticker shower mat which is disgusting. There were gnats in the room and the furniture in disgusting. I would suggest only staying here if you need a place to stay. This place isn’t comfortable it’s a place by the beach. That’s the only plus.

Wrong claim information
I booked the suite since it said sleep 4. The Sofa bed is already worse quality as a sofa, broken, forget about making it into a bed. Broken, make noise, no support, not able to lay down on top, i want my 50% money back since i couldn't sleep 4, i had to pay extra for roll away bed. The bathroom of a suite is like a public restroom, the toilet bowl is black dripping down from the rim, nasty to call a suite.

It a 2 Star Best Western ... expect 2 star stuff!
Our room was kind of "lipstick on a pig" so to speak ... obviously remodeled but with no attention to detail. No coffee cups for morning coffee, morning breakfast food was a little funky (was that really sausage?). Wall A/C on and off all night long, old original bath tub, lots of tile missing and a lot of clear calking gooped up in the bathroom. Again, lipstick on a pig and no attention to detail on the remodeling of the room, but it met our basic needs for a couple of nights.

When taking a bath, the water leaked thru to the room under us. There must have been a broken pipe or something. But, i was made to feel like it was my fault. They are threatening charges and since this upset me so much, i decided not to complete my stay. Now they won't refund my money. We did not do anything in the bathroom that would have caused this. I am 70 years old and disabled. The hotel is old and could definitely use some repair. It was such a stressful event. I'll NEVER go there again. Also, they consider a 2 year old an adult! Sheesh!

We made it clear that no charge was made to your account for what happened, to which you explained to us what had happened in the room and you were told not to worry because situations happen, you were very grateful for it and you only paid two nights of stay of 3 that originally were, your decision not to stay the third night was because this location does not have a pool, so you let us know to the front desk staff, it was explained to you by our staff and this website that we do not advertise a pool in our official pages and if we can assist you with anything we will gladly assist you at our telephone numbers.
