Over het algemeen mooi hotel in een imposant kenmerkend gebouw met mooie kamers. Het had ook een mooie luxe uitstraling. Heb er heerlijk geslapen. Echter had het hotel, in ieder geval op het moment dat wij er waren, zijn zaakjes niet echt op orde. Administratie bij de receptie kwam rommelig over. Op de eerste dag dat wij hier aankwamen werden we zomaar zonder aankondiging door de receptie naar een ander hotel gestuurd omdat er "rooming problems" waren. Het is onduidelijk waarom dit fout is gegaan. Gelukkig was dat andere hotel wel dichtbij. Het ontbijt was ook best een aanfluiting, zeker op de laatste dag was er bijna niks klaargezet en waren we genoodzaakt elders in de stad te ontbijten.

HORRIBLE HOTEL
Where to begin. After a 4 hour long bus ride behind us, me and my girlfriend were supposed to check in at the Columba hotel at 3 o'clock. After being told that the room was not yet "clean" we waited for 2 hours in the bar where we were given no less than one free drink. Upon which we were told that the room was still not ready. After we were finally allowed to enter the room we were greeted by dried pee and poop residue on the toilet seat, toothpaste splatters on the faucet, sink and shower screen, used tissues on the bathroom floor, weeks of accumulated dust on the floor, walls and tables, dried blood stains on the sheets, enormously dirty windows, chips and crumb residue from the previous guest on the floor and chairs, not to mention a pair of socks and underpants from another guest. I went to the reception 6 times because after hours and multiple empty promises nothing happened. I have never been so fooled by poor and uninterested and lazy management. Even after indicating to be allergic to excessive dust, a vacuum cleaner was never brought, let alone a proper cleaning (which was promised several times). We ended up spending the three days we were there sleeping under filthy sheets with blood stains and a dirty, dusty, uncleaned room.

Het personeel was tijdens het (vroege) ontbijt heel vriendelijk. Aan de receptie werden we direct goed geholpen met onze vraag over de prijs van een taxirit.

Onze suite was toe aan renovatie. Wel lekker ruim. Maar se vellen hingen aan het plafond. Ja behang kwam los van het plafond. Ook is het tapijt verouderd en loopt de gehele etahe wat scheef. Sevice was uitstekend, ontbijt zou wat meer keus kunnen hebben bij een 4* hotel.

This was a great location in Inverness. However, the staff were a bit rude when asking for a fan. Seemed put off that they were even being asked for anything. Also, there was a fire. The gentleman on duty was nonchalant about the entire ordeal. He was not very efficient in checking to see if all of the people were out of the hotel and accounted for. There were also elderly people who didn’t have a place to sit, didn’t have shoes on, and were obviously cold—as we were out in the street from 2 AM-4 AM. The same guy on duty did not update people periodically to let me know what would happen or just simply to reassure them. When the fire department finally told us all to assemble in one room together for an update, we weee given water. It might have been nice to offer drinks and snacks—maybe even free food vouchers for being outside in the cold for two hours. The hotel is old and I would worry about electrical issues/fire hazards. I would likely stay elsewhere if I was in Inverness again.

Loved the location, great view of the river Ness and the city of Inverness from the room. The room was spacious and well appointed. The only issue during our stay was that the room was cleaned but the bed was not made up which we reported to the staff. We would definitely stay there again.

The place was a dump, this place should have been gutted and fully renovated 10 years ago. First room we got smelt of mould with visible water damage on the walls. We complained and they moved us to another room with visible water damage, but at least it didn’t smell of mould so we roughed it for a night. The hotel is in terrible condition, and I think if an inspector showed up it would be closed down. Health risk.

This is an old 'character' hotel and was OK given its excellent location. The breakfast was good. The evening meal was reasonably priced for the area but not brilliant. My steak was small and tough and my wife's steak pie was not great.

What a jewel this hotel is! It’s location is right in the heart of the city on a the beautiful river, Ness. The cathedral is a 3 minute walk and the shopping area with bars and restaurants is the same. Our room was beyond expectations and the food excellent.

On arrival greeted with uninterested staff members. Carpets throughout hallway all.ripped and torn. Marks all over the walls throughout. Room wasnt great t.v was hels up by a book as ut was missing peg. Very small aswell for being about 20 foot away from.bed. shower was terrible lukewarm water at best with hardly any pressure. It was fitted far too close the wall which it difficult to use correctly. Genuinely our staff was poor and wouldn't return. There are much cheaper hotels much better run and equipped

The Hotel was easy to find , it’s located in the perfect location. However, my single room was not . It was very dusty ineficientes they dealt with as soon it was brought to their attention. The bathtub was not clean properly and there were cobwebs in the bathroom and in the room . Didn’t have the best view , a brick wall and the dustbins. The breakfast was plenty full, a buffet and dinner was great .

Excellent location for anything central. Staff are always superbly friendly and helpful. Convenient & efficient check ins/outs. Great functional rooms with high cleanliness standards that are great for short stays and very affordable. Wifi is good. Can't complain, I use this place a lot and it has never disappointed

On a positive note the hotel is in a great location right in the centre of Inverness. Also, it was reasonably priced. However, on arrival I could understand why it was a reasonable price. The decor isn’t great and in some areas it’s quite scruffy. I wasn’t told anything about breakfast or wifi password when I checked in. The following morning I went to reception and asked about breakfast and as it wasn’t included in the room rate I was charged £23 each for me and my son. An expensive breakfast! The breakfast wasn’t worth anywhere near £23. The cooked food had been out a while and was dried up. Very disappointing.
