my son's bachelor party
we had a group of 12 at the Rieger Hotel last weekend for 2 nights-it is an incredible property! Look up the history on this place it's quite interesting. Much of the interior is original from 1910-staircases etc..and is beautiful. Rooftop space faces South and the view is really cool. Huge kitchen table that seats at least 12. Super close to restaurants,Power and Light district and the free train.Convenience store across the street We loved our stay and would absolutely stay there again. The bedroom situation is interesting which added to the fun! The manager,Brent is a great guy and extremely accomodating-we had no issues. Garage could accept two cars and driveway area was ample for 4 more. Elevator ran perfectly-3 floors of cool is what this place is!

Great location and stay for family
We celebrated a family birthday and the location was great for our family stay with many activities close by. Kitchen was very nice for making meals and serving a lot of family. The main room was very accommodating for the size of our group. The host was helpful and communicated proactively.

Family Christmas 2023
We always try to stay in a unique fun place. The Rieger was just that. With several group meeting areas. The living room was spacious with a lovely fireplace and plenty of seating. We had a beautiful Christmas tree. My grown children got to decorate it with all the childhood nostalgic ornaments.The kitchen and convent table were very unique.Oh and by the way there are not one but 2 kitchens The bedrooms were isolated so each of us had our own space. The rooftop was one of my favorite spaces. I sat there every morning early before the “gang “ got up. It’s all closed in and warm with a beautiful view. We played games in both the living room and the rooftop. Literally 4 floors of uniqueness!!!!! There were 7 of us 6 adults and a baby. We had all the amenities we needed and to top it off, We had a wonderful host that met us there to give us a tour and share with us the history. Brent was very careful to explain everything and assured us that we could call if we needed anything at all. Very unique place, walking distance to a few places and we really enjoyed our stay.

Even though you had an elevator it wasn’t easy to get to and there was to many steps for 60 year olds. It would have been nice for every bedroom to have a bathroom instead of having to share with others. Kitchen was fabulous and the property manager was always on call and came when we needed him.

Daughters wedding!!
Our family is from all out of state. We had 16 of us there!! The wedding was at the Everly! Walking distance! It was so much fun a very unique building!! We went in on Thursday eve to Mo day! A great place, everyone had a bed, we had seven bathrooms 7500 ft.² it was an absolute blast. Everyone loved it and our host was the greatest of all. He was very helpful and a lot of fun.

This place was perfect for our group of 10. It's newly renovated and looks amazing. Very spacious with multiple balconies and a rooftop with a great view of the city. Everything was clean and tidy and Brent was a pleasure to communicate with. We will definitely be staying here next time!

Property was not ready for check in. It was a trash pit. It had a very dark, old hotel feel. We did not stay there went to a hotel. The property owner refunded our money but not the VRBO fee. Never got that back.

Great location, great rooftop….that’s it!
Air conditioning does not work. Service elevator marginally operational. This property DOES NOT SLEEP 16. It is a 4 bedroom place. Layout is great but upkeep and condition poor at best. Property was not ready when we arrived for check in. The place was dirty. A leaking roof caused all kinds of damage that was not fixed. Neglected property in a perfect location. The rooftop patio is amazing with breathtaking views. If you are looking for a place to stay in downtown KC for no more than 8 people and want to have a party on the roof…this is your place. But if you are looking at the pictures of a restored 5 star hotel and think you are renting this 7500 square foot industrial gem, your going to be disappointed. The couch is cheap and uncomfortable. The kitchen equipment and utensils are way sub-par. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING was provided for the stay in the way of soap, hand towels, paper towels, garbage cans, shampoo etc.. The bedding was second rate garage sale materials. The concrete floors, where multiple glass chards were found upon arrival, are dirty and not maintained. Based on the view and location, I give it two stars. Take away the rooftop deck and it would be somewhere around negative 5.

David, You are the reason property owners need to be able to review guests on VRBO! I will keep this short in response to your review. You booked for 8 people people but showed up with 16 and this should have been our first red flag that you would be a nightmare of a guest. We have over 100 reviews; not once is here mention of air conditioning problems because there isn’t an issue other than your inability to follow simple instructions on how to use the HVAC system. The only glass pieces that may have been found was after you trashed the place and we hauled away 13 trash bags of empty glass bottles and cans. Below quote from your post: “If you are looking for a place to stay in downtown KC for no more than 8 people and want to have a party on the roof this is the place.” We don’t allow parties! We purchased this property so families and couples could enjoy our great city which has so much to offer. We make it clear this property is not an event space or meant for parties. I will agree with you on two of your complaints. One, we do need to add/upgrade some of our kitchen supplies for cooking. Two, we did somehow forget to leave out our shampoo/soap ect…. but we did make sure those things were available after you requested them a short time after check in.

Wonderful family trip
We had the best t time. Elevator was great for the older folks in our group. Kitchen table big enough for all of us to gather together and yet the place is big enough that the introverts could find a spot for their quiet time. Loved being downtown and the roof top is off the hook. Can't wait to go back (this is our 2nd time staying at this property) again! Love the history of the building too.

Great location, fun house, needs some maintenance
Great house, great location. Would definitely stay here again. Brett was also very responsive when we reached out. For the price though, the house needs maintenance. Some tiles broken and missing in the bathroom. One of the dishwasher tops is loose requiring a knife to push it up to close. The stove exhaust fan doesn't work. There is a broken light bulb stuck in the kitchen table light, and the house could use a good deep clean.

This converted historic spot has PLENTY of room for all! With a great location that is within walking distance to dozens of places to eat, drink, and be merry, it is definitely worth looking into! Also, only 10 minute drive to Arrowhead for the game!

40th Birthday Meet Up
The Riger was the perfect spot for a family meet up for my 40th birthday. We loved the historical aspects of the property combined with it's modern touches. It's also located directly in front of the RideKC streetcar, which has free rides into the Power and Light district.

Awesome property/location/experience!
A small group of friends and family stayed here for the weekend - it was an awesome experience all the way around. Brent was extremely prompt and thorough in his communication with us from the very start. The property was amazing, it was clean, and it had everything we needed for the stay. The location is excellent as well - with easy access to dining, shopping, and entertainment options. We will definitely be renting this place out again the next time we visit KC!

First class all the way
Top notch all the way around..... prime location near everything with rail car at front door. Condo had all the amenities needed on top of loads of space. Unique Hotel Option in a Great Location
We were only there for two nights but really enjoyed the property. The unit is huge and feels like condo rather than a hotel. The rooftop deck is a great space to relax and catch up with friends/coworkers/whoever you're there with. We also love the location as you can walk to a ton of restaurants and bars. We will certainly be booking here when we are in KC next.

We had 12 team members staying as well as hosted our meetings in the living room. The space was ideal for our team meetings, lodging for everyone, and the kitchen was awesome for everyone to enjoy meals. Brent has excellent at communication and was great to work with. I highly recommend it!

Nice place for a group; served our purposes well.
We had several family members stay there attending a graduation in KC. Unit was spacious place for multiple guests with several good gathering areas for eating, socializing etc. Well equipped kitchen and many bathrooms. All very clean. In a good location. Overall much better than a hotel for the number of guests. Parking and entry/exit were very good. My only criticism would be that the advertised rate was just a base and could increased due to number of guests and other factors. This might come into decision making when one is reviewing the property online as it wasn't clear to us initially. I think all potential fees should be outlined in the property description. On the other hand the property manager was an excellent communicator, we had everything we needed and our entire group enjoyed our weekend there. We would stay there again in a minute.

Rieger Hotel Weekend Stay
My family stayed at this wonderful property for three nights while we were in town for a Chiefs football game. The accommodations were superb, with plenty of bedrooms so we could spread out. All of us thoroughly enjoyed this former hotel. Convenient location on Main St., steps away from the downtown trolley, and within walking distance to many eating and drinking establishments. The property manager was very accommodating, and made the check in and check out process very easy. We will definitely consider this property again when our family comes to KC.

Wow! What a fun experience in KC with our family!
You look at the pictures, you read the reviews, but you're are not quite ready for how cool this location actually is! We stayed as a family of 8, with our adult children and let me say....it's hard to impress them nowadays, and this one did it easily! Just being in the 100 year old hotel has a great fun vibe. We could have easily had a larger group and still had plenty of space. The kitchen (main) is awesome and fully stocked with any utensil, pot, pan you need for cooking! The bedrooms are each super unique. The second kitchen is great, we just didn't use it. You just keep running around from floor to floor finding new things and places. Then there's the rooftop! It is awesome! There is an indoor and outdoor space. We sat for hours just enjoying the views of the city. If you want a great space to hang out with your family, in a great downtown location, across the street from the streetcar, walking distance to union station, in the Crossroads...you could not ask for any thing better. Brent was a pleasure to work with as well and very accommodating.

Spectacular property in a great location
We had an amazing week at the Rieger Hotel condo! We booked it as home base for our daughter’s wedding week and it could not have been more perfect! The kitchen and living spaces were wonderful for gathering with family and friends. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were so comfortable! We also spent a lot of time on the rooftop patio enjoying the views of the Kansas City skyline. The condo was filled with every amenity we could think of from plenty of wine glasses to coffee stations in the kitchen and the second master bedroom. There is also a full size steamer which was incredible for steaming our dresses before the wedding. The location is amazing, just steps to the free streetcar and plenty of great bars and restaurants. Parking is a breeze if you use the garage and elevator (well worth it). Brent was awesome to work with and he was incredibly responsive to any message or question we had. We made some wonderful memories during our stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to book the Rieger again. We highly recommend this fabulous property.

Unique experience - One of a kind gem!
We enjoyed our stay and all the condo had to offer. The roof top deck was amazing and a favorite. The kitchen was a fun place to gather and cook in, and the large living room was great for football watching and the extra table worked out great for puzzles. Great Location - Quick ride or walk to Union Station or Power & Light. Great food and drink all available within walking distance. Property Manager Brent was very helpful.

Overall, we had a great time. The condo is very nice. Lots of places to sleep for big groups. Outdoor and indoor deck space great for a party group. Large fridge to hold all the drinks.

Family Wedding Week
We stayed at the Rieger for 5 nights during a family wedding during July and we loved our time there. The rooftop was our favorite place, especially in the evening. The third floor kitchen and common area were fantastic for preparing meals, playing cards, and socializing. People had room to move easily about and we never felt that we were crowding each other. There was plenty of storage space in the kitchens and bedrooms and the showers and bathrooms were clean and functional. The Rieger's location in the Crossroads district gave our party a short walk to BBQ and other restaurants. You even have a restaurant and "speakeasy" right in the Rieger itself. In the morning we could walk across the street for delicious pastries and coffee. The Crossroads stop for the free streetcar is on the same block and takes you to the Power & Light entertainment district as well as City market. We had an easy time using the streetcar which allowed our large party to stay together as we explored. We also stayed on a "First Friday" which was an added bonus. The Rieger is right in the middle of those activities. Our contact at the Rieger was Brent and he was GREAT! I had been talking to Brent for 6 months prior to our arrival. He always returned my calls and took his time to answer my questions about our upcoming stay. When we arrived, Brent was there to greet us and help orientate our group to the Rieger. Brent made sure we had what we needed and was only a phone call away. We used the garage and elevator and I feel that it was worth the additional fee. You need to keep in mind that the Rieger is a historical building and that means you will see some things like old style light fixtures, door handles, etc. You are not walking into a modern hotel room, but a piece of history. However, showers, T.V.'s, and wifi are all very modern. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Reiger and would stay there again without hesitation.

Great Condo - Great Location
We stayed at the Condo Fri June 30th - Monday July 3rd. 4 couples (8 adults, no kids) drove down from MN to KC for the Twins/Royals series. This place is excellent for 4 couples. Each couple had their own room and bathroom. One couple had to share a shower, but that isn't an issue. The Roof Top Patio was great and a nice place to relax in the evening. We used Uber to get to Kaufmann Stadium, and it was around $12-15 per car each way. Within walking distance are some great places: Grinders, Up Down, Breweries, etc. Everything in the Condo was exactly as advertised, and the kitchen balcony was great for playing Bean Bag Toss. We will be back, as this is a way better option than getting 4 hotel rooms for 4 couples. Thanks!

Awesome wedding headquarters!
We booked this beautiful place the weekend of our wedding for ourselves and our wedding party. It is so spacious and has a ton of character. It was great for getting ready, as the girls and guys could easily split up between floors. It makes an awesome backdrop for photos too. We spent a lot of time on the rooftop patio, such a neat spot! Can't say enough wonderful things. We had our rehearsal dinner and welcome cocktail hour at the Rieger Restaurant just below and it was AMAZING. Not to mention convenient. If you're looking for a one of a kind, high impact, perfectly located place to stay in KC, this is your spot.
