The room was as advertised. Great view of the ocean. Tiki bar right across the lawn and the Coconut Market place right behind. Loved the location as we were central to everything on the island. Would book here again on future trips.

perfect stay! perfect location!
My wife and I have stayed at Islander on the beach 7 times during the past 10 years, We keep coming back because it’s our favorite place to stay. There’s food, stores, and a farmers market within walking distance from islander on the beach. We enjoyed Making a cup of coffee in the mornings, walking down to the beach to watch the sunrise, you can also watch the sunrise from Esther’s room if you prefer. We always rent bikes, ride the 6 mile trail (one way) along the coast which starts at your room, browse the shops, then relax in the sun. There’s barbecues by the pool for grilling dinner. Islander on the beach is the perfect location for your stay in kauai, it’s located on the east shore, and an equal distance to either side of the island. IOB is wonderful place to stay. The grounds of IOB are clean, well maintained and security monitors the area regularly. Esther was an excellent host, her room was clean, with a wonderful sunrise view! hope to come back again!

Things we loved about our stay at this property: *The view and easy access to that view and to all parts of the island. *The people! We had great conversations with other travelers, unit owners, and the bar tenders at the inviting, outdoor bar and in the hot tub. *Conveniently close to shops, restaurants, services, groceries, and entertainment. *Our host, Esther, was attentive and accessible and she ensures that her rental is clean and ready.

Great Central Location on Kauai
This property was just right for our first visit to Kauai. Centrally located. Walking distance to beach, shops, restaurants. A short drive into funky Ka pa’a. The property is as described, very clean, the complex is very well maintained and has security 24/7. Communication with Esther, the owner was seamless. Highly recommend!

Perfect location. 10 minutes from airport. Shops and restaurants about a 5 minute walk away. Beach 1 minute away. Room and facilities very clean and safe. Pool cleaned every day. Hot tub drained and cleaned daily. Grounds are meticulously maintained!! Ester provided detailed info to make the stay easy. Condo is perfect location to explore the island. We enjoyed staying here for a week. Literally 2 minutes to the beach, if that. Being on the east coast, we were pretty much at the half way point to go to the north shore or the south shore which we alternated all week. The condo was clean and we very much enjoyed staying here. It was perfect!

This unit is our go to place to stay when visiting Kauai. We enjoy the unit, the property, the location and have never had an issue during our stays. Paradise
We had an amazing stay. We heard the waves crashing as we went to bed and woke up each day. The view from the lanai was incredible (sunrise is beautiful if you're awake). The location o the east side of Kauai was perfect for us as we wanted to explore all parts of the island. There's a coffee shop and a grill with delicious lunch and dinner right on the property, and a marketplace with more food and shopping options just yards away. Our host was courteous and responsive. Wonderful unit. Beautiful view (just like the picture). Very convenient location. Attentive host. Maybe not the largest or most luxurious place you can find, but it has everything you need and the price is right. It was just perfect for me and my spouse for our 6-night stay. Great spot
Nice clean condo with easy access to the beach and the many amenities nearby. We needed a few things attended to and Edith had her maintenance people take care of them promptly. We are used to a guest book in room rentals to help us get oriented to the space. However, Edith sent all instructions by email and we didn’t always have our phones so some info went missing. The kitchen layout is somewhat bizarre. Regardless, the nearby restaurants are so good that you won’t be eating at the condo. We had a wonderful time in Kauai and this place was a great base for our outings.

Thank you Marcel for your review. My name is Esther, not Edith. I will always send my cleaning and handy person in to the condo to take care of any issues as soon as I can. I am glad to have solved your issues right away in your stay. The kitchen is a kitchenette and is just as shown in the pictures in my listing. This condo is not equipped for cooking full meal, just small easy meals. There are so many delicious Hawaiian foods to try when you are on Kauai, one wouldn't want to cook! There are BBQ grills in the pool area for you to use if desire to cook.

Wonderful unit and resort. Great beach, wonderful sunrise. Nice pool and hot tub. Great communication with manager. Cocoanut marketplace has a great assortment of food and shops. And the ABC store has a great hot and cold food area to take things back to your room pool or beach. Just steps to the beach. Town of Kapaa is close by for more dining and shopping. Great unit great resort great island.

On The Beach
We had a great stay here. The property is exactly as described. It is right on the beach, with a great pool and other amenities. Short walk (less than 5 min) to shopping and food. Communication with the owner was also fantastic. Would definitely stay again the next time we are in Kauai.

Great location!
We loved the location of this condo, near lava lava beach club, the coconut market, coffee and more! Very centrally located in the island! The beach is just outside your door and there’s a pool/hot tub. We really enjoyed our stay. I would say the only complaint is there is a door to the next door condo in this condo and there was a group of girls next door and we could hear them laughing and yelling and it was very disruptive.

Thank you for your review Madison. i'm sorry to hear about the noisy neighbors. If you had told me while it was happening, I would have done something to stop that noise. However, keep in mind if the noise is during the day, I would not do anything. If it was at night during sleeping hours, then of course those girls should be stopped. I am glad you had a great time other than that issue. Just know that I will everything I can do make my guests as comfortable as possible, but I must be informed of the situation.

Loved the island! This condo is convenient to the airport, shopping, restaurants, and golf.
We enjoyed the property. Spent a little time at the beach on property, pool, and hot tub. Spent most of our time golfing and touring the island. The unit was comfortable, has a large bathroom, and the host was very helpful! The only improvement would be colder A/C and bigger (king size) bed.

Perfect location. Beautiful property!
The location was perfect! We were a short distance from the north and the south shore. The landscaping and property itself is breathtaking. Waking up every morning to that Oceanview was paradise. Esther is a great host. She checked on us periodically to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. The room itself had everything we needed. We were steps away from the beach, places to eat and short driving distance to everything we needed. Highly highly recommend this property! We will definitely be back!!

We would unequivocally recommend this property as a base for touring Kaua'i, or for relaxing days around the pool. The condo unit, though quite small, is nicely laid out and comfortable. The fridge, microwave, toaster, large sink and a good set of dishes and utensils, as well as the outdoor BBQ, enable guests to prepare healthy meals. The lanai (balcony) looks out across the pool to the ocean. We are not "resort people" but this condo complex suited us fine because it was very quiet, even around the pool bar, most of the time. We enjoyed the beautiful flowers, shrubs, trees and bird life on the grounds of the property. Be aware that the complex faces east into the prevailing trade winds, so the sound of the waves is constant and can be very loud. The breeze was quite cool when we were there (early April). For a swimming or snorkeling beach, Lydgate Beach Park is walking distance or a very short drive. The owner was extremely helpful all the way through from booking to departure. Kaua'i is a very expensive island to visit and live on due to its remoteness. This was definitely the best property we could find within our price range and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

70s Beach condo gem on paradise
My boyfriend and I spent 8 nights at Esther’s condo in paradise and had a wonderful time. The property was built in the 70s and has a cool retro beach esthetic. The condo is really clean, the bed comfortable and I don’t think you can beat a third floor beach view. Coming into the trip I knew I wanted to stay near the Sheraton where I had stayed last time because the area on the island is so convenient… ~45 min in either direction depending on the adventure of the day. What I loved most about Esther’s condo is the amount of amenities that are within the a 1-3 minute walk. The coconut market - which has a grocery store, coffee shop and more is right across the parking lot. There was this fantastic little “feet in the sand” restaurant called Lava, Lava less than a minute walk to the right of the property (just walk through the little patch of the tree that separate the properties). The Sheraton was also just a 6 minute walk down the beach to the left. This made our stay so easy and convenient- it meant after a long day of being the sun and having all the adventures, we had a clean plan to come back shower and stumble somewhere to find food. Esther’s condo really has all you need- small fridge to store a few items, blender, microwave… and that lanai was perfect for morning coffee or after dinner drinks. Esther was the sweetest and most personable host ever. Really appreciated the ability to easily text. She even called to welcome us- we were off kayaking on the Wailua river so I missed it but such a sweet touch. Thank you, Esther! We had a wonderful time.

Beautiful setting in a perfect location!
We traveled to Kauai to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Esther was wonderful to work with through the delays we experienced due to COVID restrictions. It was well worth the wait! The unit was just as described in the listing. View from the balcony overlooking the grounds was awesome! We spent two weeks exploring the island and the location was ideal as it was an easy drive in any direction. Being next to Coconut market Place was also ideal as you could just walk to do any shopping or eating close by. We also enjoyed Lava Lava Beach Club next door for dining and drinks. We would definitely recommend this unit for a comfortable and relaxing stay

The dryer will be replaced. I have 121 five star reviews. This means if there is something wrong with the condo, I will do my best to fix it right away. Valerie did not tell me about the dryer until she left. Also, I make it very clear that a renter must be able to climb stairs as there are no elevators in the condo complex. The photos in my VRBO listing shows the condo you will get. Valerie did not seem to appreciate the other beautiful thing like the new comforter that I put on the bed or the brand new shelf unit that I added to the condo for more counter space. She also didn't mention the gorgeous ocean view that she can enjoy everyday from the condo lanai. Some people see the negative only. Again, I will address and fix any issues that come up in your stay as soon as you tell me about it. I am a phone call or text away.

Impeccably Clean Ocean View Studio
We spent 4 nights in this upper floor studio apt at Islander on the Beach, and it was just grand aloha!!! The surf view is perfect. Continuous breaking waves soothed our souls day and night. The sandy beach is steps away. A convenient public sidewalk leads both north and south along the ocean. The pool was not over-chlorinated, a common issue elsewhere. The tropical garden grounds are immaculately kept, with plumeria blossom fragrances wafting about. The unit is spotless and equipped with more items than advertised, and the owner is a very good communicator. We hope to return to this unit for our next anniversary. Mahalo Esther!

This property was perfect for me and my fiance. This property had a wonderful view of the ocean. The pool was also right below the unit and made for easy access and the pool bartenders were very friendly. The sun would wake us up and that was perfect. The coconut market place was right around the corner and made it was easy to find anything that we needed. checking in and out was very easy and Ester was able to answer all of my questions. Even when i texted her at 10PM when our flight landed. This was a wonderful experience and I would be very happy to come back and stay here again.

Getting up each morning with a cup of coffee and just sitting on Lanai looking at waves coming In was spectacular! It is centrally located in Kapa’a where there are shops and restaurants. The Pono Market was great for Hawaiian food! We rented bikes and rode on a six mile trail along the beach in Kapa’a. Ldygate park was also nearby and we walked there several times!Beautiful beach swam in waves there! The Islander is also in center of the island so trips to north and south of the island were easy! A lot to see here and hikes to take both nearby and on the rest of island!! Love Kauai and the islander!

Amazing balcony view
We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return! We were relaxed from the moment we arrived. The setting is perfect. Great location for visiting the north shore or the southern beaches. The grounds are meticulously landscaped with flowering trees and orchids, thick grass and swaying palm trees. The coastal trail is easily accessed from the pool area. Plenty of comfortable pool furniture with tiki huts for shade as well as a large tiki hut with a small bar with bartender and happy hour. Visible day and night security and plenty of parking. The Coconut Marketplace across from the parking lot has shops and restaurants for everything from morning coffee to a fun sushi place. The unit is perfectly situated on the third floor with an amazing view of the ocean and pool area. The picture on the listing is your view from your balcony. We never heard any noise from other units. The unit has everything you need and nothing you don’t: super comfy bed with plenty of pillows, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, beach chairs, small cooler, ice machine on property. The owner made check in super easy and she responds quickly if needed. We started each day with coffee on the balcony with that amazing view and ended each day in the hot tub with the ocean view, the stars and the swaying palms. Truly a special place!

I cannot say enough about how great this whole experience was. I am unfamiliar with Kauai and someone lucked out with this property! Its centrally located and if you have a rental car you can get anywhere from here. Not to mention the actual property is perfect! Our room was clean and the view cannot be beat! We spend a decent amount of time at the pool and beach at the property because it was so beautiful! Not to mention Esther was great about checking in and making sure everything was ok. Her instructions were organized and the entire process was seamless. You will NOT regret booking this place! I'll be heading back and staying here for sure!

2nd Stay with Esther
These condos at Islander on the Beach are great. Small but plenty for 2 adults and the facility is great, nice pool and bar, and you can't beat Kapaa as a jumping off point for your adventures.

Beautiful location
We had a wonderful time in Kapaa and the room was perfect for 2 people. The view from our room was amazing. Theres a pool and Jacuzzi as well as the beach just a few steps from our condo. They have a cute little bar and grills and its never over crowded. Its super peaceful!! Theres little shops all over, the location is only a 15 minute drive from the airport and Wal-Mart. Its very convenient. Absolutely loved our stay. They have plenty of towels. We are at a good location to go north and south. The only thing i would do is bring garbage bags because we only had 1 in the garbage can which was super small. And it wouldve been great if a mop was provided to clean up after ourselves since theres sand on our shoes and i dont like a sandy floor! 100% recommend.

Thank you Joselin for your review! I am so glad that you enjoyed the view from the condo and the fact that the condo is in a great location! There is a broom and pan set in the armoire for guests to use to sweep up sand. There are starter supplies in the condo when you arrive. Should a guest need more supplies after the initial amount is used up, there are local stores within walking distance to replenish supplies. Please do know that if there is ever any issues with the condo, I will try my best to resolve the issue quickly. Just text or call me. Thanks for renting from me!!

Awesome Spot View is REAL
The property is centrally located with easy access to both sides of the Island! Esther checked in regularly to make sure the place was meeting our needs. Ocean view, sound and breeze from the lanai were amazing. Little note, make sure you have the AC turned off when you're outside on the lanai, as the heat from the fan is hot. ;-) Mattress is well used but slept pretty well, overall! Numerous eating and shopping options within a 2-5 minute walk from the condo and a view of some live music from by the pool from your lanai in the evening. :-) This condo is GREAT as a launching pad to your Kauai adventures! Would rent from Esther again if we return to Kauai..which we will. :-D

Anniversary getaway

Wonderful accommodation
The condo is a pleasure, with a prime location in Kapaa. Communication with Esther was fluid and check-in and -out was easy. We had a drainage problem in the bathroom. Esther responded quickly to call for her handyman, who was to come in while we we out exploring during the day. When we returned in the evening, the problem was still there with no evidence of any work to fix it. Esther's response to my query was that she was confident that he had done the work, because she had dealt with him for X many years. I felt a little gaslighted. Other than that little detail, we can recommend this condo without a doubt. It's a great choice.

James, thank you for your review. I do remember our conversations. I always correct problems right away by calling my handyman. This handyman has been taking care of my condo for 10 years, and he has been nothing but trustworthy and reliable. So I still stand by him when he says he took care of a job, I know he did. In fact, I believe he went back into the condo to check on the drain when I mentioned that it wasn't draining still. I am sorry that you felt gas lighted. I can only do my best to solve a problem right away when periodic functional problems arise. I thank you so much in communicating with me your concerns. This is what I like from guests, to tell me when something is wrong in the condo. I will have it fixed to my best ability.

A wonderful stay in Kauai
Our stay at the Islander was exactly as described online. There is a beautiful view from the lanai and the location was central to restaurants. Linens and room were clean and all the extras needed were included. The directions for checkin and out were easy and thorough and the owner was lovely. She checked in with us during our stay to make sure everything was okay. It was a great stay!!!
