Greta location, lovely grounds and fantastic building.
On arrival, greeted by the friendly reception staff and able to leave bags while we went out for the day. On return, given keys to room, unfortunately the room had the wrong number of beds set up, so was provided another room very quickly. The new room was on the top floor up very steep stairs (I had to carry my older Labrador as she was unable to make it up). On arrival to the room, there was a strong drainage smell (the room window was wide open, so assume this was a known issue). The room was also massively hot (with a stand-alone air conditioning unit in the corner). While we got used to the smell, the heat was an issue all night (the electric went off when we left the room, so the air conditioner didn’t work). So we had a restless night (especially the dogs). We didn’t mention this at the time as we’d had to carry bags, dogs and kids to the two rooms already, so didn’t want another move. Bathroom was big, but shower had a lot of mould and needed a silicon refurb)
Breakfast was great, service excellent and very good value for money.
Would stay again, but would request a different room (away from the top floor) up front.
