'We took the Amtrak from Portland, OR, to this lovely town for Spring Break the last week of March. The free SNOW bus was still running so there was no need for a rental car to get around town or up to the slopes. (Whitefish is an excellent place for first time skiers and snowboarders since they have cheap lessons, rentals, and optional lower lifts for beginners.) This VRBO property was exactly as advertised! It was very close to the center of of Big Fork, but was private with with a nice partial view of the lake, open fields with many deer and some livestock for us to view from the big picture window in the kitchen. 'We rented this property for a birthday getaway. The host picks you up in a pontoon boat and shuttles you over, she was very nice and helped us load and unload everything including my toddler. The weather was great, the slide and kayaks were utilized and everyone had a blast. The kitchen was fully stocked with most cooking things you could ask for. The main bedroom's bed frame may need fixing, perhaps the previous guests broke it during their stay. Otherwise everything was great!'
