'This is a fantastic property. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. Although close to the main road (and easy access to local amenities, walks and beautiful beaches), it is quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is very well stocked and we enjoyed having the pool/ping pong table in the lounge. Would love to return for another stay.'

'The property was in a beautiful location and inside was lovely and clean. Also everything you need in the cupboards Garden area was great and a lot of the farm animals came to say hello Nice walks nearby and other lovely places to visit by car. 'This was a great break in a gorgeous property. Everything was as described, including the facilities and location / proximity to the beach. I had no concerns about the dogs in the garden with the high and fully secure fence and all rooms were spacious to accommodate us. This was our third stay in Southerness and most certainly the best property we have stayed in. We will be back.'

'Excellent place to spend time out in the open away from the city. The place had a lovely stream running at the back which was relaxing. The place was clean and had lots of garden space which was great for the kids.'

'Property is in a great location in this bucolic setting. The view out the patio door is beautiful with sheep and cattle grazing on green pastures with wooded hillsides in the background. House was spotless, well appointed. Hosts most gracious. Highly recommend!'

'Charming cottage style flat well decorated with interesting local art and great views out to the harbour and castle. TV a bit tricky to set up for local news and difficult to remove subtitles on bbc iPlayer. Bathroom a bit cold at times and not on same floor as bedroom and lounge. In need of some painting to upgrade. Otherwise very convenient for all amenities.'

'Park Cottage is set in a lovely location in Cally Woods (so many great walks and cycle opportunities). Also with use of the Cally Palace Hotel facilities including the swimming pool. However the house was unclean, especially the kitchen with unusable pans and not enough cutlery to sit 9 people in one setting. There was black mould on the downstairs bathroom ceiling. Such a shame as the cottage is a great space for families and could be lovely, but when I have fed back about these issues I have...

'foute ontvangst, erg lang moeten wachten voordat we eindelijk in onze kamer konden, chaos overal, de manager zei dat t druk was, hoogseizoen, of we daar begrip voor konden hebben. eigenlijk niet, we betalen voor de kamer, maandenlang is bekend dat we komen, dat is de job als je in het hotelwezen werkt. 'It’s a nice hotel in need of some investment. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice, but the restaurant was unbearably hot, air conditioning is required or at the least the ability to open windows for fresh air. Thank goodness there was a conservatory where you could have dinner. '

'Holiday Inn in Dumfries is goed bevallen. Prima hotel, maar niet heel bijzonder. Ontbijt en kamer was ok. Locatie is erg mooi, op een universiteitscampus. Helaas past de aanbouw van het hotel hier niet echt bij. Er waren nog wel wat verbeterpunten. We hadden voor 4 personen gereserveerd. In de kamer was het reservebed wel klaar gemaakt, maar verder ontbraken nog wat dingen (handdoek, beker) voor de extra personen. Verder was het extra bed doorgezakt. '
