'We were warmly welcomed by the staff. The accommodation is not in the middle of the city but in a quieter location, that suited us perfectly. The accommodation borders a long, beautiful beach that leads you to the Surf paradise. Lovely outdoor shower in our cabana. Worked well with the fan mosquito net. Good service with everything from food, bikes, washing clothes. Very nice and accommodating staff. We appreciated the accommodation so much that we chose to book another night. Lungy and nice....

'We loved the place, the owners are beautiful people providing all sort of services but more important even, they provide very useful information about services in town and average price for them. Super helpful when it comes to bargaining with locals. Ideal place if you look for a quiet holiday as it is close enough to walk to the lively places but located in a quiet local area.'

Det var långt in till nått, jag skulle säga att detta hotel var mer för att surfa lite, eller för nygifta par som vill vara lite för sig själv, å bara ta det lugnt och sola och bada. 'Rustic hotel accommodation right on beach, 10 minute drive out of Arugam Bay. Tuk Tuk accessible. Basic accommodation with wifi only in verandah of our unit (11), and in dining area. Lovely atmosphere and staff are very accommodating and friendly. Loved their Sri Lankan meals. It’s not 5 star hotel but the staff make up for it. '

'Отель-относительно новый. Есть все необходимое-вентилятор, кондиционер, целых 3 душа и кран для обмыва ног. Персонал очень приветливый, готовы помочь с любым вопросом и просьбой. Был ранний заезд-без проблем встретили и заселили в 6 утра. Находится не на береговой линии, но до океана 3-5 минут. Рядом куча ресторанчиков, напротив магазин с продуктами. Немного расстроили 2 тараканы, которых увидели в 1 день, убили их и больше не встречали. Отель очень рекомендую!'

'This hotel is miss selling the rooms,the first room was not fit to sleep in and was moved to a new room which was not much better but was clean. The room i booked had cable tv,Wi-Fi and a bath but the room i got had non of these,they did not clean the room while we stayed there but say they do daily cleaning???on a plus point the staff were friendly.'

'Booked this hotel through Expedia prior to my trip, when I landed in Colombo I received a text message from a French (+33) number saying that my booking at The Coconut would be cancelled, and that the prices I had booked were no longer valid! My only choices were to cancel the booking or pay the "new prices" which were 3x higher! I ended up saying I didn't want the booking and found other accommodations. I actually went to the hotel during my trip where the front desk person was frustrated...
