This was a roomy, delightful historic home, complete with over the top decor of the late 1800’s. Everything was great with the stay experience. Just wandering around the house and looking at the restorations was a delight. I mostly stayed in with my small dog. The couches were comfortable, and pretty much every room comes with several things to entertain: movies, books, games, fun facts about the history of the house. The beds are comfortable. I locked myself out of the house at one point, and the property contact was a lifesaver, getting me back in before I even got very cold. It is an old house with historic textiles, which means the fabrics contain stuff from the past, no matter what is done to them. The managers do everything they can, though. Things were cleaned, air purifiers are everywhere, and there is potpourri and air freshener. Just maybe don’t stick your nose in the carpet. There were 14 long messages from the host, many have history; some have announcements; some have area attractions; and some have instructions. Sifting through what I needed to read to get into the property and what I needed to read to obey the rules was kind of a chore, even using my email search function. That being said, when I reached out with a question or concern, I got a prompt, thorough response. I will be staying here again.
