When I arrived I had inadvertently booked a smoking room, this was not acceptable to me as my husband has heart conditions. I tried to cancel with the property on site but, because of the hour 5:30 pm they would not cancel. I was going to book another upgraded room at the same motel. Expedia rep. could not satisfy my request either. We stayed in the room and we were very uncomfortable because of the imbedded smoke. Also, the rooms were not remodeled as the listing had offered. We will not be staying there again!!!

Room had a weird smell. The door didn’t close properly so there was a crack that let in cold air. Had to clean the toilet seat before I could use it. Stayed for 1 hour and checked out, went across the street to the Holiday Inn. Staff was nice upon check in so I didn’t ask for a refund.

The room was filthy and smelled of mold. No water pressure. It looks like they tried to freshen the room up but it reminds me of putting lipstick on a pig. I would not stay here again. I would rather sleep on a park bench. The manager was not accommodating and was rude when we brought up issues.

Check in was tough, once I opened the room, it smelled so bad, TV did not work, refrigerator was turned off and opened with a soaked towel inside, phone did not work, TV was fixed later, but horrible, this TV and the channels were like 20 yrs back, no guide, the remote and TV do not collaborate, the shower curtain rod is in a weird shape, the curtain did not stand, it drops to the middle, btw, the mattress was good, luckily. The cleaning lady did not stop blowing the patio even when I was standing there, the swimming pool water was not transparent, someone must have mixed a couple of gallons of milk in it. Do not recommend this for more than $40 a night. Very bad experience. Should have read the reviews… it was hard to find the breakfast room , when I found it, they had baby bagels, never seen that in any of the hotels that I stayed before. Very limited choice, the coffee was so bad. BTW, the banana was good. No one was available in the front desk when needed. We rank the bell several times. Great hotel, but not recommended.

Horrible Hotel - Do not recommend staying here
This is a horrible hotel. We traveled from Florida back to Michigan and needed 2 rooms for the night. One for us and one for our daughter and her 2 year old baby. Upon checking in we discovered the rooms were filthy. Smelled like urine, broken bathroom door and feces on wall. Strangers outside our door and next to car smoking dope and other substances. Not comfortable having my granddaughter stay there. Not a safe place or clean. We brought it to the owners attention and he agreed to give us a refund. We drive down the road to find a safer cleaner place to stay. The owner has now denied it all and will not give us the refund. This place needs to be shut down. I should have read the other reviews because they are all bad. Horrible owner, disgusting hotel. I would not recommend anyone stay there ever!

How bad do you need to stop?
Location convenient... served its purpose..we needed a break from driving... but otherwise can use some work. Stains on sheets. Dirty dusty walls and celings. Tv covered in something streaky and dirty. The front desk guy rude. So overall they should be charging less..

I wouldn’t stay here again for only one reason, and that reason is the mattresses. Even if they were brand new, these mattresses are some thing that a hotel should be expecting their guests to sleep on. You could feel the springs and hear the springs right through it.

The breakfast provided was horrible compared to other surestay hotels. The door to the room was very difficult to get open and the beds were not comfortable. There was a bad smell in the room that was not identifiable.

The "suit" with the jet tub was no where near worth it. One look and you can immediately tell that it's best for your health to not even attempt to take a bath in it, as it was disgusting. As well as the place it self is pretty "sketchy" at best. People playing basketball on the breeze way all night, people in and out, yelling carrying on. It is shocking that "best western" allows their name on the place. It was dirty. They should ask, $59-$69 a night. That's about what it's worth. Not the worst, but definitely not good.

(2 nights stay) I was over charged for one of my dogs, we brought 2. One dog is 15 lbs and the other is 45 pounds. I found out later that any dogs over 30 lbs will be $30 per night and dogs under 30 lbs will be $20 per night. I was charged $30 per dogs regardless. Before I booked my room, it’s stated online that the pet fee is $10 per pet per night. So, I was surprised when I had to pay $120 at check in. I should had walked out, but didn’t want to go through the hassle of looking for another hotel as we’re already exhausted from our road trip. Upon entering our hotel room, we was greeted by a strong musky odor. Not pleasant at all. Will not book with Surestay again.

The place was dirty with moldy shower. The shower handle was loose and ready to fall off the wall. We ordered non smoking room and were placed in a smoking room. The sad part is that the place is completely overpriced for all that you get. We tried to get banana to go because nothing else looked good and we were told no. Very disappointing stay

My stay was mostly comfortable but NOT without issues. First & most importantly the top latch that assists in securing the door was broken, that is a MUST FIX!! Secondly i ran out of toilet paper, there were 2 partially used rolls but it didn't take much to use up the supply, there should ALWAYS be AT LEAST one wrapped (never been used) roll of toilet paper in a hotel bathroom included with the rolls that are already there and have been used!

Owner tried to charge an extra $40. Said it was expedias policy since there were 3 guests and only 2 on reservation when selecting 3 guests the price remained the same. Then said he was going to charge $19 for breakfast for additional guest. Breakfast consisted of yogurt, toast and cold cereal.

Low Standards
The service staff entered the room with the Do Not Disturb sign hanging on the door handle and charged me another room rate for a 3rd person accompanying me on the trip instead of an additional person rate. Any trips in the future i will not stay at a Sure Stay. A total rip-off and not pleased with the way the manager handled the situation.
