Stayed two nights at hotel, no housekeeping service on Saturday, stains on the carpet and just little things missing, like box of tissues in the room, not teaspoon with the tea making facility and no fresh/clean cup for the following morning. Staff very friendly.

Very thin walls and ceilings I was kept awake all night but the room upstairs leaving there tv on, could here every time someone coughed or used the bathroom, will not stay there ever again as no compensation was offered

Loved Maryport
Redeemed a reward night and was happy with that. A very warm welcome and quick check in. Room was adequate and clean with great views over the harbour. The Cumbrian breakfast was sufficient, attentively hosted by the staff. Totally enjoyed the 1 night stay in Maryport, and loved the warm welcome from the locals. As for the price for a 1 night stay without a reward night, I'l leave that up to others.

Uncomfortable beds hotel made loud noise until 1am
When we came to check in the receptionist apologised and told us that there was a wedding party going on but said the music should begin to stop at 11. The music (and then the sound of people packing up the wedding) lasted until one in the morning and made sleep impossible. On top of this the bed itself was really solid and you can feel the mattress springs, as mentioned in other reviews. We put our duvet on top and asked if they could provide any extra bedding. While the receptionist was able to give us a duvet cover there was no duvet in it so it was really cold. The paint on the walls was also damp and peeling. We had phoned ahead to ask if they could provide us with an iron. The iron they gave us literally leaked water out of the power cord. The second iron didn’t work at all. By the time we got to third iron we were very short on time. We visited so we could go to a wedding so while this might seem small, it was really stressful. They did allow us to change rooms that night (but without an apology) and the next room was adequate and basic. We do not normally leave reviews, particularly for small businesses. The reason we are here is that they have flat out refused to apologise or offer us a partial refund. We tried to talk to them both at the hotel and then through hotels.com in the hope that they had made a mistake, would read the above points and acknowledge that it wasn’t acceptable.

Near the sea front. Staff very friendly but overworked. Need more staff as they are very run off their feet, but despite this very attentive. Rooms clean and tidy with a good view. We had facing out to sea. No lifts, so need to be able as many stairs. Breakfast good but dinner passable. Location good and central for most amenities. Nice walk on the promenade and beach. Worth a visit. Pleasantly pleased as only 3 star. Recommended.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend the burger at their restaurant. The surrounding area is also great, places to buy extra snacks and shampoo etc are all within easy walking distance, various different pubs and restaurants of different types within walking distance. Train station is literally a ten minute walk away. Room was cozy and clean, excellent house keeping by staff. Would definitely stay at again.

I liked that the hotel was not part of a chain. I was interested to learn about the history of the building. My room (and my son's room) were spotlessly clean. Every member of the staff was most kind and helpful. The food was excellent and the servings most generous. I have never been to Maryport before and was fascinated to learn that the town is over two thousand years old. I spent many happy hours walking round the dock area and looking at the many memorials to both sad and happy events,

Overnight whilst working away
This is the 2nd time I have stayed at this hotel and have to say its very good. Its rooms are dated but they are clean, warm and comfortable. The hotel staff are fantastic and are very welcoming. I didn't have my dinner here this stay but as before the breakfast is superb. 100% recommend this hotel, value for money is brilliant.

Kids on low floors.
Everything was fine until the 2nd night when a young child moved into the room above and was constantly running around until 11pm, dragging furniture etc. Then it all started again at 6am.

The hotel is in the centre of town and has residents parking. The room was basic and smaller than we’d prefer. All amenities were there and the bathroom was clean. The room could have done with another hoover though. Bed was comfy but the rooms are so close it’s noisy and you can hear other guests. Had some drinks in the bar area in the evening, which was very pleasant. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. All in all a reasonable stay but I wouldn’t say it’s value for money, given the advertised room rates.

Great location terrible service.
Great location, nice view, cool adjacent tapas bar and cocktail lounge. Room large and comfortable. Bathroom with shower good size and clean. Service was terrible. Managed to get a drink in the bar next door but understaffed and one girl looking after everything. Luckily we booked on the restaurant and then we were told there would be a delay. Waitress then came back and told us no starters and walked away. We waited two and a half hours for dinner and had to keep asking what was happening. They had no options for food other than nuts and crisps. We were not told about a wait of two and a half hours and did. It get the opportunity to try to find something else as it was too late and there was a food festival on. When we complained they just shrugged. I understand staff shortages at the moment but a bit of honesty would have been nice and then they had the cheek to charge us for the meal and no option for dessert and no options for anything to take to our room as we were starving. Complained again in the morning but again just a shrug.

Very uncomfortable bed but otherwise a lovely room
Nice welcome. Smart and clean room. The only disappointment was the bed - it was very uncomfortable, so much so that you could feel the springs poking through the mattress which was also rock hard. I think for £110 a night you expect a half decent bed. Unfortunately this spoiled our stay a little as we hardly slept. That being said, the rest of the room was lovely.
