The staff was backed up and had to delay our check-in. They were very nice about it and even compensated us for our trouble. I plan to return and stay again.

The swimming pool was closed the entire time we were there which was a bummer for the kids.

All the staff were exceedingly kind and helpful- Jamal, OD- EVERYONE- housekeeping, breakfast prepping, the young man emptying the trash barrels who made sure we got the hot water we wanted. An amazing team!

The woman that checked me out was fantastic. Very kind and friendly. Did not have the same experience when we checked in. The young man couldn’t find our reservations after giving him our name 3 times. Just handed me our room keys - didn’t even tell us what our room nbr was, anything about the property / breakfast. Very unprofessional.

Disappointment
The room was not cleaned during our two night stay even though we left the room early and at 3 pm advised no service provided. Towels were provided at 10 pm on the day in question . One needed a detective agency to find anyone at the front desk . The breakfast service was the highlight of the experience the staff there friendly . The elevator to the room was either out of service or used by staff to shuttle supplies . The Marriott next store a better option . Hampton usually a wise choice but this one needs competent management - disappointing experience . I am a frequent traveler domestic and internationally

Great Hotel but you must request housekeeping
We really enjoyed this hotel, rooms are very clean and it’s a very nice environment. However, when housekeeping didn’t arrive, I approached one of the housekeepers and asked her if she was going to get to our room that day. She responded sharply telling me, that housekeeping is only available on request, and I was not on the list. She also told me that they would have told me that at check-in. Which, of course they did not tell me that at check-in. I didn’t feel that her bad attitude was necessary. And I just want to forewarn everyone to request housekeeping. Apparently they do not touch your room unless you ask them to when you check in. Otherwise, this day was very nice.

I liked how new and updated it was and how closel to Newport it was located. The front staff was exceptionally friendly. The breakfast was better than i expected with fresh fruit yogurt parfaits as well as bluberry scones.
