First time staying at a Red Roof Inn. Was a little disappointed after seeing the property from the outside. However, room and beds were clean. There’s also a fridge and a microwave in the room. Hot water / coffee / tea available 24 hrs at the lobby. Bathroom was small and no place in the sink to put toiletries on. Bathroom smelled a little. Overall stay was good but I’ve stayed at much nicer hotels for less. I wouldn’t mind staying at a Red Roof Inn again but only if price is cheaper.

Several spiders in the room and the actual mattress, while covered with a protector, was very heavily stained. It was what I expected with a red roof. Price was astronomical for the quality received but there was an event in town which drove all prices up. Would stay somewhere else if I could next time.

I love that the rooms aren’t carpeted. Floors were clean. I don’t like carpeted hotel rooms - usually musty and stained and torn. Nice and convenient to Newport and just nearby are some small shops, Dunkin Donuts (not my favorite, but in a pinch at least there is some form of coffee). 😉

The website sold me into thinking it was a spectacular place wasn’t anything like the website. Driving to the property for the first time we encountered a problem with our GPS system. We phoned the property and spoke to the young women on duty and explained our problem. She did her best to determine our location and direct us to the property. After a few minutes when we had not arrived, we received a phone call from the women we had spoken to earlier who said she was concerned about us because we should have arrived already. She remained on the phone with us for several minutes helping us get to the property. My wife and I were very impressed with the genuine concern and assistance offered by the young women who called us back when we did not arrive and spent considerable time helping us. Her concern and assistance was the most memorable encounter during our stay, We have retold this story many many times.
