We absolutely loved the owners Teri and Jeff, both so. I’ve, friendly and just great people!! Loved the location to all the sites around. Loved the view from the hotel. Clean, quiet and just the right place to stay!!

A very nice motel! The owners live on site and are friendly and attentive. The location has a nice view of Easton Pond. Close to the beaches and a 15 minute bus ride or drive to downtown Newport.

Amazing, friendly, kind owners
The Sea Whale Motel was truly a home away from home for my daughters and I. Jeff and Teri really care about their guests and go the extra mile. The evening we arrived, we started having car trouble. The next day, which was a Sunday, I bumped into Jeff and explained the situation. He offered to contact his mechanic first thing the next day when they opened and get me an appointment. He did, and he offered to jump start my car and follow me there to ensure I was safe. Meanwhile, Teri reserved us a room for an extra night in case we needed to stay longer to accommodate the repair. Within a couple of hours, Jeff called and told me that his mechanic could fix the problem, a sensor, for a very affordable price. I agreed, and once it was done, Jeff drove me to the mechanic to pick up my car! We left the next day, and the following day Jeff even called us to make sure we got home safely. If this level of caring and customer service is not enough, we considered ourselves very lucky to be staying at the Sea Whale Motel because it was in walking distance to the beach and many restaurants. We had plenty to do even without a car! We are already making plans to stay at the Sea Whale again. It’s a nice little place with a beautiful view and wonderful people. Thank you, Jeff and Teri!

The owners Jeff and Teri are great hosts. They do what is in their control to make things easier for you. I gave them a 5 star rating because of cleanliness and good beds and both of them were outstanding. The place has a convenient location because it is walking distance to the beach and The Cliff Walk and especially if you enjoy long walks you can get the wharf and business district walking, just take your time in advance. If you have good weather and the sky is clear you could see a beautiful sunset sitting in the backyard. No doubt, our next trip we will stay at this place again. Thank you Jeff and Teri.

Teri and Jeff are the owners of this charming motel. They care about the guests and accomodate for anything. The rooms are immaculate, the location is perfect, the price is right etc... There are even chairs outside to enjoy swans on the water. After trying out several hotels in the area, this one is THE BEST. DO NOT HESITATE TO BOOK!

A Really Great Stay at an Original Seaside Motel

i stayed here with my family in august to go to second beach for a few days. The place is a mom and pop type place and it's no frills. So if you are looking for a deluxe experience, this is not for you. BUT it's clean, clearly has had upgrades to the bathrooms, the staff are very friendly and available when you need them. You can walk to restaurants, ice cream etc and even first beach. it's about a 5 minute drive to second beach. We loved it.

Clean Comfortable and Perfect Location
Clean and comfortable. Nice people, speedy check-in and out. Fridge and freezer and microwave worked great. The view of the water is very nice. Saw ducks and a rabbit. Location is perfect for walking to Cliff Walk, Easton Beach, Clementine's Ice Cream and the amazing food at Atlantic Grill.

From the time we checked in till the time we checked out we couldn’t ask for better service. We were very warmly greeted upon arrival the grounds were immaculately kept with fresh hanging flowers. For a small motel it felt like 5 star service. We will definitely stay again thank you Teri!

The property was clean and neat and there was beautiful flowers all around the building. And lt over looked a lake with a nice deck to sit on. A nice walk to the beach and a quick drive to shopping in town and restaurants in the area. This was a nice relaxing over night trip and we will be staying here again. Love the owner and workers they are so nice and friendly. I give this place a 5 star and more.😊

After waiting to the last minute to book a hotel in Newport in its busy season, I was very fortunate to stumble upon this “hidden gem” in downtown Newport. It was significantly cheaper than anywhere else in the area. I was a little worried that it sounded too good to be true, but the room was EXTREMELY clean and quiet. It fit our needs perfectly and was within walking distance of the beach and Flo’s Clam Shack. The added plus is the—pretty much unobstructed—view of Easton Pond in the rear with picnic tables. The staff was also extremely accommodating. They provided a 24-hour cell number for calls/texts and even allowed us to push our checkout time back 3 hours! 10/10 would recommend, and I will definitely be back!

Newport's best-kept secret
The old-fashioned owner-operated motel is back and BETTER THAN EVER. This is a wonderful place, fresh and clean, right on the water, overflowing with flowers and charm. The owners are friendly and helpful. The location is within walking distance of a great moderately- priced seafood restaurant and Flo's Clam Shack and, a bit further down, First Beach and Cliff Walk. Big, comfortable room and shared deck overlooking sunsets on the water.

Loved that this was in walking distance to the beach as well as Atlantic Grill. Friendly arrival, stay and departure- the owners are wonderful and helpful. Clean rooms and location is beautiful- great place to stay to catch a sunset with the Newport Bridge off in the distance.

Feels like home. Loved it!
We absolutely loved this place! Jeff and Teri are sweethearts, and you can tell that this place is “their baby“ it’s so nice to have a “mom and pop“ hotel, where you meet the owners personally and everything is so organized and easy. It’s definitely one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed, has a beautiful view, and it’s just so simple and “old school“ I loved it. I even loved that they had a real key instead of these electronic keys lol. Would definitely stay again and again.
