De binnenkomst is werkelijk prachtig en het hotel ademt nostalgie. De kamer was prima met mooie details zoals het behang, ruime douche. Receptie zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijk evenals de ober.

We had a marvelous time in Monaco and a big part of it was our experience at the Hotel Métropole. The staff, the rooms, the location, the food all were first rate. I would not hesitate recommending a stay to anyone.

We splurged at top of the line hotels for our 40th wedding anniversary in Cannes, Nice, and Monte Carlo. Others were perhaps a little more expensive, but this, in my opinion was the best. It started off inauspiciously, as we misunderstood our Google navigation instructions that seemingly took us to the parking garage of the Métropole shopping center. I assumed that the hotel was connected to that internally and parked there. We came up into the shopping area, which was amazing, but could not find the hotel until we walked out on the street and were directed, to a gorgeous set back entrance not obvious from the street. The staff saw my predicament and to my delight, ran several blocks to the parking garage retrieved the car with our luggage and parked it, rescuing me from my navigational incompetence. Room was spectacular. It is 100 yards from the Buddha Bar (opens at 6 PM… My wife and I got there shortly there after because we knew we were not stylish enough to get in later). Exceedingly close to the casino, which I recommend… Opened 2 PM, requires passport, an entrance fee, and in theory jackets for men , though I saw many without. For better or for worse, has an ATM machine inside which I utilized. About a block behind the casino is an elevator that drops you down to sea level, though you are dumped out into a construction zone. Worth walking along the dock side. If you don’t feel like walking back to the hotel, it may be difficult to get a taxi

The first room we were given that was a deluxe was VERY VERY small. The hotel wasn’t full and why they gave us the smallest room on the floor was not appreciated. We could barely walk around the luggage and my husbands walker. Not good at all.

I provided the same feedback during check out that we were very disappointed with the room we were given. The room is overall very dated and we had a shower that was very hard to operate with a shower cabin that was not water tight. We had flooding in the bathroom which we reported to the management. They chose to offer a temporary fix and the technician was satisfied that it was job done. As we were only staying for another night we decided to put up with the shower and the continued leaking. Room service cleaning was excellent and slightly mitigated the flooding issue. On the subject of the room, the walls are also not sound proofed and we could hear conversations from adjacent rooms clearly. The hotel amenities are good especially the pool and odyssey’s service. The location is also excellent.

We went for my husbands birthday, we loved the hotel the only problem we gad was with the electric sockets in the room. There were a few that were not working and had to keep reporting it and kept getting told it had been fixed when it wasn’t. We had to choose between charging our phones or smart watches every night. I did also mention this again on checkout but felt it fell on deaf ears.

For a 5 star hotel, was extremely disappointed with the check-in process. Coming off of a cruise, we had no choice and arrived way before check in time. They said a room might be ready early and would let us know. However, other people arriving later checked in early and able to get their room. Not only did we have to wait 5 hours to the scheduled check in time, our room was still not ready for 25 minutes after 3:00pm. No effort was made to get us in a room that had already been cleaned. Second issue we had on the 2nd night was that we had no hot water in the shower. Again, very disappointing for a 5 star hotel. These two issues overshadowed the good qualities of this hotel.

Just Not What It Seemed It Would Be
The hotel is old. Check in is dark and no offerings of champagne and a demand for a passport. Exhausting after travel. The initial room was small and facing contribution right outside the window which we were never informed about until in the room. They did switch our room yet slightly better still had no modern day amenities like USB ports and the shower leaked. Compared to the other hotels as we went around this one was dark, smelled, and just wasn’t worth the money. The concierge was not great and we literally couldn’t get a taxi and the hotel did nothing to help us. End of day, the pool was the best thing about this hotel and absolutely would choose Hermitage, De Paris, or Fairmont over this hotel.

The staff was very attentive. They did, however, struggle to communicate on the app in a timely basis and did not follow up to an important question I had untll it did not matter. I also asked them to email the bill and they never did. With that being said, expect high customer service most of the time. The hotel is in a great location. The guests are a bit stuffy and prices for things in the hotel are quite expensive. It is Monte Carlo, though, expect it. I would say Monaco is more of a day trip. There are way better areas in Southern France.

Disappointing experience
Old rooms, fixtures and technology; still stuck in the 70s. Small rooms, no privacy on the north side as too close to a residential building. Poorest breakfast selection for a 5 star hotel ever. Probably a deliberate strategy to push guests to pay for extras, on top of the $65 per person breakfast fee. They charged me 9 Euros for a print & scan; usually a free service in respectable 5 star hotels. Mechanized staff, fake friendliness. Exceptional location though, and food quality is good. I am wondering about the authenticity of the 10/10 reviews!

Amazing customer service and check-in experience. The room was comfortably sized and the bathroom was very nice. The hotel is conveniently located to Monte Carlo Casino, shopping and restaurants. Would highly recommend!
