Kick back and relax is what you will do once you master stairs! The owners have thought of everything to make the stay really nice. We really enjoyed our stay, it truly is a gem of a location.

Incredible views
My sister and I had a great time. Perfect weather most of the time. We took those steps to the beach every day. Although not easy, I made it with two artificial knees and an artificial hip. I highly recommend it! The house was perfect. It was clean. The kitchen was well stocked. The linens were high quality. The beds were comfortable. I loved the sound system. The four season room has incredible views and comfortable furniture to sit on and enjoy the views. The views from the bedrooms were perfect. While there we visited Claybanks Pottery Studio, the Country Dairy Farm (sandwiches and endless chocolate milk were great!), Cherry Point Farm and Market, Fox Barn Market and Winery, and Bardic Wells Meadery. The last was recommended by the hosts and I'm glad they did. The owner of the Meadery was very entertaining while we were tasting. This was a perfect vacation for us.

A perfect staycation
We took our children to the lake for a mini spring break adventure and could not have been more pleased. The home was clean, there was so much attention to detail from the game closet to the snow & beach gear (it’s March in Mich- we used both 😂) and the host was super helpful and responsive. The views are exactly as pictured and simply breathtaking. The dunes are peaceful and quiet, the waves were amazing to listen to at night. Highly recommend!

Phenomenal Home/Views!!
Best VRBO experience yet! The pictures in the listing do a great job conveying the home/property, yet can't do them justice when compared to the real-life experience. The views are incredible, the house is laid out perfectly, well-appointed, with every detail any renter could ever think of taken care of. Cozy, beachy, comfortable, we loved every second of our stay (even after the trek up the ramps/stairs with our gear). Sue and Joe were very responsive and flexible. We wanted a secluded place to relax and take in the views of spring/winter on Lake Michigan, and this home knocked it out of the park! 6/5 stars!

Unimaginable access difficulty
On our arrival date (2/19) we received a message from the Host that snow was present and that we would need to utilize several items, they have staged, to address and navigate the difficulty of a snow & ice coated 2-tier wooden decking ramp with a 10 deg incline angle for over 300-350 ft long. Upon arriving we had 2-3" of snow with an ice base underneath. The motorized cart, the Host provides, could not climb the ramp. Contacted the host & He advises me to utilize the track propelled snowblower in the garage to clear the rampway & then apply salt. Could not get the snowblower started so spent considerable time & effort to shovel off the boardwalk leaving enough of a snow covering for traction to pull a sled up the incline to bring all of our items, for a 6 day stay, up to the home. Once at the top of the ramp we now faced snow covered stairs that had to be cleared in order to go & down safely. 50 ft walkway to the home was also snow covered & icy. It took over 3 1/2 hrs to tackle the rampway & bring our possessions up to the home. Used the provided webbing spikes, the Host provides for assisting traction, but still required multiple trips up & down using a sled. My wife & I were physically & mentally exhausted after the ordeal. Next day we salted the entire ramp distance to remove the remaining ice base. The home is beautiful & views stunning but if you rent this unit in the winter the Host expects you to deal w/this rather than them contracting the task out.

Spectacular lakeside house
This house is set on a spectacular hill overlooking Lake Michigan. The house was clean and cozy, and we had a wonderful time walking along the beach and taking in the lake views. We were rewarded on our last morning with a bald eagle perched on a tree right outside the window. If you stay here, make sure to take advantage of the snow-trax shoe coverings on the sometimes-slippery walkway!

Wonderful Long Weekend
We just returned from a long weekend with our family. This place is exactly as described but better!! It had beautiful fall colors all around and the house has everything you’ll ever need. We enjoyed a bonfire outside on the deck and a spectacular sunset. The panoramic views of the lake are stunning and you won’t find a place that has both an outstanding location and such a beautiful updated house. We loved that every room had large windows to enjoy all the scenery. All rooms were decorated perfectly and furnishings were top notch. The beach is spectacular and I’m sure would be perfect for those summer days. (Little too chilly for us this time of year). Thanks for sharing your place with us!

Beautiful charming property with beautiful views. The home was was equipped with everything you needed. We stayed four nights and only left once to go grocery shopping. The beach was pristine. We loved the four lounge chairs on the landing. We spent a lot of time there and watched the sunset every night. It’s so hard to find a house that allows dogs. Especially one that is so clean. The best getaway!

PURE HEAVEN!!
This house is absolute perfection! My family and I had a lovely, relaxing stay. It offers lake views from every bedroom and living space that feel like they are straight from a magazine. The weather was cooler at night, so we were able to open the windows for a nice lake breeze and to listen to the waves at night. The private beach felt almost Caribbean-esque - lots of sand and room to play / relax. The owners were communicative and helpful with a couple of questions that arise. (Pro tip: Oh Brothers restaurant looks like a bar from the outside, but has GREAT food and was family-friendly!)

Peaceful
The hike up to the home was intimidating but immediately appreciated the minute we walked into the home. The house was beautiful and very nicely appointed, the appliances are top of the line and everything you could need was available. The only TV is on the second floor but the WiFi is excellent allowing access to streaming on your computer. That was only needed on the one rainy day - otherwise the views!!! Magnificent! There are windows everywhere, we saw beautiful sunrises and amazing sunsets. Atop a tree to the south near the shore we enjoyed watching an eagle make his daily visit as well as several other eagles fly past and circle out on the lake. There are plenty of beach toys which our grandchildren loved! The owners are very responsive and ready to accommodate if necessary. We enjoyed every minute of a relaxing, peaceful vacation!

We truly enjoyed our stay - adult children joined us and we had a wonderful week of bike rides, golf and beach sitting. The stairs leading down to the beach were many but truly worth it - the privacy and stunning water views, sunsets and moon watching made for wonderful memories.

The stairs were a lot, but the view was even more! Well stocked house. Nice and quite. Was happy to be able to bring my dog. Loved finding non stick dressing in the first aid box after my daughter fell off her bike and had a significant scrape. How thoughtful!

Nice Family Vacation
Pros: Very clean and well equipped home. Had everything we needed for a nice family vacation which included an infant. Great views of the lake and sunsets. Nice quiet beach. Some of us had to work a couple of the days we were there and the home had plenty of places so that people could work while others had fun! Very good wifi and internet speed. Cons: no cellphone service at the home. The distance up from the garage to the home was a challenge in the rain. We knew about the steps down to the beach so we were ready for that including bringing a carrier for the one year old that was with us. That was much easier than trying to hold him in one arm while going up and down the stairs.

Relaxing cottage on the dunes
My husband, our small dog, and I enjoyed this cottage so much. We had a couple days to spend on the beach on a cross country trip and this was the perfect spot to unwind for a few days; while the weather didn't cooperate, the location and amenities helped us relax. Everything you need to cook a good meal & have some good coffee. If we had beach weather, the owners included everything we would need to spend a day on the waves. The fenced in back yard was very nice for our dog. And the secluded location made for peace and quiet. Thanks for a great stay!

Great place for a vacation
We had a great vacation and we would happily return some day. We enjoyed the house and the location. We loved the quiet at the house and the beach. It felt secluded and private. The house was also comfortable and set up to include anything you would need indoors and out. The owners were easy to work with and fast to respond to any questions. Relaxing Easter Week
House is great and location is fantastic. Isolated and quiet with great space for games and hanging out. Sunsets and lake views are amazing and stars at night are vibrant with little light pollution. Kitchen has plenty of cookware and good appliances. Nicely decorated. Excellent Instructions on how to run things. Went to church at Harvest Spring Lake which was really good and about 30 minutes away.

Beautiful home and view. Wonderful Christmas vacation with our family. We survived Elliott, a 4 day blizzard. We enjoyed staying cozy warm and played many of the games they had available. It is quite a trek up to the house especially in the snow, but well worth it. You won't be disappointed!

Spectacular views!
It's all about the views at this property. They were spectacular! Joseph and Suzanne are wonderful hosts. The house is full of thoughtful surprises - very well appointed. Lots of steps from the garage to the house and then also to the beach but so worth it. My only complaint is that the front two burners on the stove didn't really work so cooking was a bit challenging. Other than that, it was a great getaway.

The home is stunning. The views are breathtaking. PROS: Views surrounding the property Layout of the home Amenities (inside and out of the home) CONS Mattress and pillows in the master bedroom (very hard mattress and flat pillows) Hauling groceries and luggage up to the house (but WELL worth it once you get to the top!) The hosts should give a Master class on how to be a host! They truly think of the renters and their needs. My family and I loved this home! Thank you!

Best view of Lake Michigan we've ever seen!
This was an extraordinary spot for a family reunion and entertaining family and friends. Immaculately clean, spacious, beautifully furnished and appointed. Especailly loved the views from every room in the house and the daily cappucino! We did have sigificant problems with lack/quality of water. However, the hosts responded immediately and did their best to resolve the issues while awaiting repairs. This did not ruin our vacation, but took the majority of a day to get working temporairly. We would definitely stay again!!

The property was amazing, the views were outstanding. Everything was just as described. We didn’t have to call the hosts once because everything we needed was there with directions and labels how to use them. I was expecting some animal odors and hair because they allow dogs but there was none. There are quite a few steps down to beach but that was no problem for us but some might need to consider this. Joseph and Suzanne have done a wonderful thing making this property available for others to enjoy and we were blessed to celebrate our 50th anniversary there. Thanks to you both!

Our stay was the ultimate relaxing vacation. The home was immaculate and fully stocked with kitchen supplies and household ammenities. The views of the lake, stunning sunsets and stars were absolutely amazing. We saw so many bald eagles and migrating monarch butterflies we lost count. The kayaks were a huge hit and the beach was private and pristine. We had a wonderful stay.

Home is just as pictured. Absolutely beautiful! When reaching out to owners they got back to me within minutes. From the house to the beach the owners have thought of every little detail. We found ourselves just sitting and staring out at the lake for hours watching the waves and wildlife.
