'Basic townhouse with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Can walk to downtown Ferndale. Am very annoyed about the large damage deposit which was charged when I booked months ago and then took nearly 2 weeks to be refunded. Owner says it's up to VRBO. How about a hold at check in?'

'We traveled to Detroit to see the Black Crowes show at the Fillmore and spend a weekend together with family. Our stay at the Lumber Baron's Mansion was phenomenal. The location is excellent for any/all downtown activities and there's plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our host was extremely responsive and provided very clear communication. The interior was beautiful and well equipped. Highly recommended, will stay here again!'

'I cannot rate this place high enough. The owner was most generous and kind…even suggested an excellent spot, Toast, for breakfast. The condo itself was welcoming with every possible detail covered! We slept like babies! She quiet! We loved our time in Royal Oak and the location was a perfect little drive to Comerica park for a Tigers game!'

'Stayed here with a group of friends for a wedding and enjoyed all the amenities the loft had to offer. The neighborhood is a little rough but that does not come through in the quality of the lodgings. Would stay again!'

'This place was terrible. Should never have been listed. Ceilings dirty, previously wet and sagging. Carpet ripped and FILTHY. Horrible patchwork pink paint covering dirt and graffiti in the hallway. Host never responded with entry information. It was all bad. Vrbo did set me up in a hotel for 3 of my 5 nights then I had to find lodging for the rest of my stay Awaiting my refund for that.'

'It was great to bring our dogs with us on our visit to Detroit. The accommodations were Clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed. The neighbors were pleasant and the bar down the street was a nice place to have a drink. We visited Belle Isle and Gross Pointe Park. We found great restaurants that allowed dogs for outside dining. Great trip! '

'It was close to everything. We went to Ford Field, which was only a 5-10 minute walk. Theres plenty of restaurants close by to chose from. Or, right next door theres a convenient store, which has all kinds of things to chose from'

'When ever I'm on a overnight stay in the area I fry to book here. There are several chain restaurants in the area and it's between two Wal-Mart. '

'Absolutely loved our stay! The room was spacious, clean, and stocked with every amenity. The bed was extremely comfortable (even the pillows!) and we slept so well. It was the first hot weekend of the summer, and the AC kept the room the perfect temperature, quietly. As for location, I've stayed in a few downtown Detroit hotels and I really enjoyed where this one was located. Easy walking distance to restaurants, or close the 375 if you're needing to get out of the city, or Jefferson Ave to...

'Property was clean with a great view. Extra sleeping with a blowup mattress with extra linens provided. Very small but suitable kitchen area. Very nice indoor pool and hot-tub Free parking'
