The property is beautiful, the rooms are very nice and it is great that they have a 21 pool. However, the service at the pool was terrible. We ordered $25 Carne Asada nachos, which was basically a huge pile of dry chips with very little toppings on it. Our waiter never came back to check on us so we asked another waiter if he could at least bring us a little more cheese or something because the chips were so dry. Never saw that waiter again either. Then we went bowling that night in the Crush Lounge. The food took forever… We had come early so we could eat beforehand but we ended up having to get all of our food after we started bowling which was not so much fun to eat finger food while putting your fingers in a dirty bowling ball. Also, the lane we were given was not working and wouldn’t give us a strike on the board when we got them so we had to keep asking staff to manually fix it, and the staff was not working the bowling table area so we would have to track someone down to do that every time and they were so annoyed at us but not our fault! They should have comped us for the bowling after all that trouble but they didn’t. If you go there, do not let them put you in lane number #2! All in all this is a nice resort, but for the rate that we paid, there were too many service issues and disappointments to justify paying $500 per night.

Check in was late, and wanted to charge more for a late check out. They had alot of guests and very little staff, but the staff at the family pool side were very attentive and did a great job with the amout of people that were there. Our server was Jr and francisco I think they were awsome. Also the manager gave the kids popsicles which was a nice treat.

Stay in the Presidential Suite was good, not great. The hotel is set within a corporate/commercial building area which is convenient, but not very pretty to drive through. On this stay I roomed in the Presidential Suite was expansive and recently upgraded to a more modern look, but wasn’t perfect. For starters the views off the patio looked out onto a small portion of the vineyard behind the hotel, but more prominently over a wide, used street that runs behind the hotel. The room had various “really?” defects, such as a microwave missing its upper cover plate, dead recessed lights, a fireplace that didn’t work and which had a broken door, and a makeup mirror which didn’t work. The pool area was fine, nothing too extraordinary. The gym was okay, definitely good enough for some lowkey vacation workouts. On checkout I was charged $45/day resort fees which were never discussed with me at check in nor at checkout - only discovered when looking at the receipt later. Overall I was satisfied with my stay, but not enthralled.

My husband sent my daughters and I on our first Napa trip to celebrate Mother’s Day. Beautiful property, however, aside from the front desk person who checked us in on the resort side, and the valet employees, the rest of the staff seriously need a training course in customer service. We asked for an upgraded room and paid the extra $400 for both nights and was placed in the grand reserve building 8. Gorgeous room but the front desk personnel on that side was not friendly at all. In-room service, housekeeping and front desk never answered the phones after a few attempts. Very disappointing knowing we spent the extra money for what we thought would be better personal service. My daughters and I had dinner at Olive and Hay the first night. Again, less than mediocre service. Our waiter was totally inappropriate. Being we were there to celebrate Mothers Day, he rudely said “did your baby daddys leave you a card to pay for your meal?” Totally unacceptable! Seriously who says that to guests? I should’ve known right then things were going to go downhill. Would I stay at Meritage again? Nope, never. Would I recommend it to anyone? Nope, never. Like I said, beautiful property, terrible staff.

Nice grounds and amenities, TERRIBLE SERVICE. Front desk was clearly understaffed. Line was very long and slow at all hours of the day. I asked the lady who checked me in which way to go to my room. Her response - “I think it’s that way.” Any time I tried to call front desk no answer. The TV in my room didn’t work and I couldn’t get anyone to answer me on the phone or via the chat bot. Restaurant food was ok, service was slow and unfriendly. Generally, there seems to be a staffing and management issue.

This resort is absolutely beautiful with many amenities, unfortunately, some were under construction right now, both pools, hot tub and bowling alley. We’re all closed. They do offer two pools one is for 18 and over and one is for families, they do have cabanas for rent. I did eat at the steakhouse at the resort, the food was delicious you can’t go wrong eating here and the service was beyond amazing. Resort has a store with a deli inside the rooms do have refrigerators and coffee makers. The bar in the lobby is always busy, but the bartenders work for really good at their craft beers cost around $10 and cocktails are about $20. I will definitely be back hopefully for one of their summer concerts. I was here for a convention and the food they served for breakfast, lunch and all of their snacks was excellent.

This property - looks nice on the website however - massive amounts of construction are currently going on - they had people working as new guests were checking in - smells of paint - it reeked. The woman checking us in then went through all the amenities to which all but 1 (the pool across the street at the other resort) were closed. The halls were dirty - there were massive events going on and the place was very loud and the hotel staff seemed very overwhelmed. Had I known the amenities had not been available - I would have never stayed here.

I specifically booked here based on a friends recommendation with high hopes of being able to stay on site with friends and truly enjoy the amenities. Unfortunately, that was not the case. 1. There was no indication when booking that the bowling alley was closed. We found out when we asked and the response was to come back in April. 2. The pool was closed. It was said the pool would be done January however, it doesn’t appear it was and we were told we could use the pool across the street. While I appreciate the offer, it’s uncomfortable to walk across the way in a bathing suit. 3. Our mattress had the spring coming through about 2 inches by our feet. Super unsafe. I was unable to speak to a manager as I was in a hurry to get back to my kids but this was not the experience I expected from The Meritage.

Overall nice property . There was a welcoming touch of champagne when we arrived which was a nice gesture . There was a mix up upon checking out and the manager was very friendly and took care of the issue . I appreciated him taking the time to come address the issue.

The place is beautiful with several fun activities unfortunately the service was not as great. I got an email that listed amenities I had preordered so it would be there upon my arrival in my room like wine tasting flights and a fruit basket but none of that was there when we arrived. We waited over an hour for it to finally be delivered to our room (after a couple of calls) I suspect this place is understaffed and undertrained due to high turnover. I appreciated the service at the spa, that was really good. Overall I want to return to the spa but won’t be expecting much from the amenities.
