Thanks for the feedback on the fridge that needed to be wiped out. She must have missed that this last cleaning. I am disappointed that that made you give my cabin a 4 star review as your response on my feedback survey was glowing besides for the fridge item. Thanks for the five star review! As you said, the hot water is being addressed. This is the first compliant I have had about the king bed. We have replaced all the other beds recently but it may be time for the king as well. I can't do anything about the narrow stairs. I like to think of it as a unique feature of the original Norwegian heritage cabin. Of course, the other two upstairs bedrooms in the newer are have easy to navigate, wide stairs. First, I want to say I’m sorry that my cabin didn’t meet your expectations. I will try to detail my response below to each one of your issues. To anyone reading this review, I just want to emphasize the importance of doing your research before staying at any vacation rental. I work very hard to provide information on what is provided (and not provided) and what to expect. When instant booking, there is a sample rental agreement that you are supposed to read through, agree to, and then you pay for your vacation. The rental agreement on file, my cabins VRBO page detailing amenities room by room, many photos, the full video on our Clear Creek Cabin of Iowa Facebook page, and all of my correspondence (including my list of “good things to bring” personalized by group size and season of your stay) leading up to your vacation dates are designed so you have no surprises, are completely prepared and allow you to have an awesome experience. This guest either didn’t read the rental policy or intentionally didn’t tell me about bringing a pet. I had to ask her if she brought a pet. The rental agreement says “pet friendly, allowed at the owners discretion”. I also had the personalized note welcoming you to your vacation rental, a welcome book with many additional details, and also a hiking map showing trail locations. The vast majority of my guests appreciate the wide variety of kitchen utensils (yes, they are in several drawers and may seem a bit unorganized- I think we all have one of those drawers in our personal kitchens!) as well as the variety of pots and pans on hand (a whole new set purchased this spring as well). I usually recommend the adult couples to sleep in the king, queen or full beds available and noticed you didn’t use one of them. These rooms are more private and have curtains/blinds. I do apologize for any mice. That is gross and unacceptable. I had a group in there two weekends prior to your stay and I stayed with family the weekend prior. There were no mice and no evidence of them. I certainly wish you would have contacted me so I could have taken care of the problem. It is frustrating to not even have a chance to rectify an issue and hear about it for the first time in a review. I am more than happy to do whatever I can to make guests’ stay great. So again, I am sorry for your poor experience with my cabin. If you are like my family, vacations are too few and far-between to have an unenjoyable one.
