Oh no, Elaine we are sorry to hear you didn’t like some aspects of our cottage. We think our near 200 year old property offers great value for money. I was very surprised to hear what you said as I had been there on the day the cottage was prepared for you ready for you to arrive later that same day. I know it was in pretty good state having been cleaned very well by our lovely cleaner who puts a lot of time and effort into making sure it’s nice for guests. Cleanliness is of course subjective and if you dig around hard enough no doubt you’ll always find something but seeing as there are over 70 genuine reviews on here and so far only yours has rated us as poor it all seems a bit odd. The vast majority we’re happy to say have given us a smiley face emoji and/or praise for the cottage's cleanliness. I wonder if you were trying too hard to find fault rather than enjoying your 9 day value for money holiday. I’m surprised during your stay you never once contacted us about it so we could take action if there was something wrong. We don’t claim to be top of the range but our customers usually rate us highly. Ian

Hi Debbie, Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear the neighbour's guests were noisy. You should have called and we'd have asked the owners to speak to them. Just to address the other points; to be Coivd secure we have removed a few things currently. We of course don't market ourselves as top end. We want to be as good as we can but still good value. The small crystal dehumidifier in the bedroom is there as it's a small bedroom and cottage which is an old converted barn and we find not all guests air it as well as they might so this helps with that. It's not because of a damp problem with the structure of the building. We've not smelt any damp and it's not something any other recent guests has mentioned but we'll mention it to our lovely cleaner. According to google maps Whipsiderry beach is 0.4 miles away and it is 0.5 to the nearest entrance to Porth Beach. Watergate Bay is a mile if you use the public footpath behind the cottages and 1.6 to drive. This goes with what it says in our listing. We hope you still enjoyed your stay. Hi Sally, Sorry you missed out on the wifi. We do have it as of this year. It's a shared wifi system between several of the close by cottages so there is a small extra charge to use it currently. You must have missed the info on the advert about it. We're now making it more clear. We're glad you enjoyed it overall though. Like a lot of Cornwall the phone signal depends on your carrier some are good at our location and some less so. Best wishes Ian and Jill

Hi Ella, sorry our cottage didn't quite suit you and you hadn't realised Porth is right next to Newquay rather then in it. There are normally communal security lights in the courtyard that come on at night but bringing a torch is a good idea too. Sounds like the lights weren't working when you were there.
