As a family of 4 we had an amazing time doing all inclusive and look forward to going back next year! This resort is super family friendly with so many activities and great pools for all ages. Here are some tips: We enjoyed the buffet, lots of options for fresh fruits and veggies, plus made to order options at each meal like omelettes, custom tacos/fajitas. Restaurant near kids pool is basic, but great for a quick meal after swimming. The buffet has vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options plus a variety of nondairy milks. Reservations at specialty restaurants fill up quickly, so get there early before they release new reservations at 8am on Sunday & Thursday, you can also get on waiting list which we had success with. Earliest reservation is 6:30 i believe, but they have a buffet that has some late afternoon options if kids need something before then. The pool loungers fill up quickly, so put down towels at 8am on chairs. There is also a self-serve laundromat next to the gym and you can pay for tokens and detergent at the front desk.

This is our second time at the Marival and we had a great time! The staff, the food, the entertainment - everything was fantastic! The only note I would make would be in the rooms for there to be more lighting in the bedroom area. We found the room a little dark with only one light on the other side of the room in the ceiling (nothing in the centre in the ceiling) and one light right when we walk in in the ceiling. The other note would be more areas (hooks or towel racks) to hang our bathroom towels - we ended up just hanging our towels in the closet. Our trip was amazing and the staff went out of their way to make it special. Thank you Marival and see you next year!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The staff, and service were the highlight, as well as how clean it was kept. The room was slightly cramped and dated, but the cleanliness of the room most definitely made up for the that. Our kids absolutely loved the waterpark, and we would probably come back because of that, and how clean the resort was for those things alone. It was also nice that the buffet had a table of kid friendly foods, very handy for our toddlers.

The location of property is great, however, I stayed here last year and everything was much better. The food was average, they have gotten rid of the lovely palapas on beach and now have cheap umbrellas. The drinks are almost virgin and the main restaurant was closed two days. Not worth the price.

This resort was overall pretty good, a little dated and lots of stairs for rooms on upper floors as there was no elevators. Being close to the beach and having lots of options for kids made it a great place to spend a week. We enjoyed our stay.

Our first ever vacation! We stayed at this resort for 3 nights with our two kids (5&6) and we ALL enjoyed it. Kids loved the water slide and shallow end of the big pool, one kid even learnt to swim! Husband and I have never travelled outside CAN/USA so we enjoyed the weather, beach and all inclusiveness. The resort is beautiful, so clean and huge! Our room was full of sand from the beach daily but was always cleaned to perfection. We have never been anywhere else but really doubt anything can top this resort. Definitely going to book it again! Food: Overall good. The lunch restaurant by the pool served more American type foods so we ate there everyday. Our kids are very picky so they only ate the fries and pizza everyday from the pizza shop. Thankfully we packed some crackers that they snacked on. Pool: hands down was our kids favourite part. Disappointed that all the lounge chairs were always full of towels by people who were not even at the pool so we could never lounge. Entertainment: we loved the nightly shows after dinner. Kid’s basically fell asleep watching them so we never had to fight them to go to bed. Win win. Beach: literally steps from the pool and clean( no trash or seaweed) always lounge chairs available and locals selling all kinds of goods For next time: packed more snacks for kids, pack water toys for pool, stay way more than 3 nights

We just returned from Marival Emotions and we had the best time!!! I am not sure where all the bad reviews come from?? We were there for 7 nights on an all inclusive package. It was my husband, myself and our 2 boys aged 2.5 and 5. We arrived at the resort at noon and our room was not ready but we were able to take FULL advantage of all the amenities. Upon arrival we realized we left one of our bags in the shuttle and the gentleman at the front handling the luggage was beyond helpful in helping us get it back! Check in was easy, no lines and we got our room at 3pm as promised. We were never hassled for a time share presentation. We had met another couple that was approached for the presentation and they said it was actually really great. They had breakfast, drinks and the staff watched their 2 little kids (they could see them on the other side of the glass wall) as they were given the presentation. They also rec’d free passes to swim with the dolphins. After hearing this I wish we were approached! The majority of the staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was great. Yes some items on the buffet were not piping hot but we never had cold food. So many items to choose from and they switched it out everyday. Breakfast had fresh cold pressed juices, omelet station, pancake, waffle and crepe station (The would even make fresh french toast if you asked). El personal es amable, las instalaciones limpias, los muebles de las habitaciónes son viejos y el sillon cama ahi durmio un niño y rechina demasiado tuvimos que poner el colchon en el piso para poder, la comidas tenian muy poca buena la mayoria es sin sabor.

Our room was filthy...fake fingernail on bathroom floor, hair on floor and tub and blood spots on sheets. We asked to be moved to 3 new rooms that cost the same to purchase in a different tower but they charged us over 500 us dollars to make the change

Marival is family friendly for all age groups. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are many food options and various places to eat. The room are very clean and beds seem new because they are really comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

El lugar es bueno para ambiente familiar, pero el servicio podría mejorar y las instalaciones se ven nuevas, la comida de buffet es buena pero en los snack no me gustó tanto, en los restaurantes de especialidades nunca pudimos obtener una reservación, nos decían que estaba lleno, el último día fuimos a reservar a las 9 am y ya tenían lleno. Si no estás interesado en hacerte socio, te recomiendo no vayas al desayuno que te dicen es de 90 minutos, ya que tardas como 3 horas o más

The room weren’t as expected. The food was ok but the dining areas were not very clean. The service was ok but not attentive. The outdoor bars, open late and close early. Although we don’t drink, there was no water or soft drink at the bar. The food was limited and not fresh.

El personal en general es bastante malhumorado y grosero. La comida muy regular. Nunca se puede reservar en los restaurantes de especialidades y el “crédito” que te dan es mentira. Es en lo que les conviene y con otra compra antes. Para que te den tu cuarto primero te obligan a escuchar para volverte socio.

If you have kids, this is the place to go. We were two ladies and the kids pool was crazy during the day. Definately not quiet during the day, but very quiet at night. Not enough entertainment for adults in the evening, other than the disco, but that didn't open until 11:00 . The kids loved it though. As well the property is too far from everything, we would've liked to be able to walk somewhere, but was only able to walk the beach. Getting a cab was quick and easy though. (we took a cab to go shopping in a mexican market one day)

As soon as you check in, staff tries to convince you to join their members program which they claim is not like a time share but it really is. You have to sit for a “nice” dinner and listen to them talk about it, they’ll give you a pass to try out the members area but it’s not worth it. After saying no once, they continue talking about it. We were annoyed the minute we arrived as we sat there for 20 minutes saying no and they kept trying. All we wanted to do was get to our room and relax after a long flight. The dining was confusing, as you have to make reservations to eat at the restaurants days before and there aren’t any slots otherwise you end up eating at the same buffet your entire stay. The hotel was dirty, every time they sat us they never once cleaned the tables or sanitized them. Staff was very kind, only a few weren’t very kind.

We loved the resort itself. The kids' pool was a draw for us and it didn't disappoint. The proximity to a beautiful quiet beach was lovely. The pool was never so busy that we couldn't find a chair for our belongings, and the staff were fantastic. The food was incredibly disappointing, both buffet and restaurants. The desserts were not good - everything had a strange gelatinous consistency. We really disliked that not only was there no poolside service, but we couldn't even get food and bring it poolside. To get a snack we had to pack up our toddler and bring her into a restaurant. There were family friendly shows, but everything was after 8 pm so we couldn't take advantage of them as they were simply too late for our toddler. We did enjoy this resort, but we will likely choose a different one next time.

Service was not the best at all. Not very attentive. Also the food wasn’t that great. Elevator kept breaking down during the day and we had a stroller so you couldnt just take the stairs. Definitely a decent place for families who have kids.

My husband and I just came home from a 10-night trip to Marival Emotions. Leading up to our trip, I was anxious reading poor reviews and once we arrived I was SO impressed by the property, quality of food, amenities, service, on-site activities and even surrounding restaurants. When you read poor reviews by others, you really need to consider what type of people nit-pick things apart. Service: We had our 2-year-old with us so we didn't spend a ton of time getting to know the bar staff. However, we did meet some of the entertainment staff (Carlos and Michelle) and their team were amazing! So friendly, welcoming and approachable. They always recognized our daughter around the resort and it made all of our days. Bar and buffet services were great. Specialty Restaurants: You can book every day at 8:30am. We did not have any issues getting into the restaurants, nor did we have to stand in long lines while booking. Food and service was amazing and a nice treat from the buffet. Buffet was really great! Of course, it's a buffet so some things were amazing and other dishes were okay. I've been to a few all-inclusive resorts and this resort had the best buffets comparable. Room: We had a main floor 1 bedroom suite. It was perfect for our family. The beds are small, room is a little outdated, but honestly- it didn't matter. The overall experience was amazing. We loved the kids shows, adult shows, ice cream every day, all of the resort' activities and events that took place.
