When we walked into our room, the air conditioning unit was out of service. When I asked for the maintenance to come and fix the unit(the day was hot), the worker said they would send a guy, which they did. But after the maintenance worker just messed with the unit for about 5 minutes, he just left and didnt come back. When we called the front again, they informed us that they will not be able to give us another room or a new air conditioning unit, and told us to deal with it since their manager was not present. Turns out, the manager was well aware of the problem. We were disturbed multiple times by the maintenance guy who left for miscellaneous reasons, just to come and knock on the door again 20 min later. Seeing that not all facilities that we paid for were present or working, and our peace and domicile was disturbed, a refund is absolutely necessary.

The inside definitely better than the outside of the property. There were unseemly characters staying there. That's not in a businesses control per say. Money talks, I get it! The real gripe is with staff and personal. I made a reservation that I in fact checked in for. Because I wasn't paying a switch was made. Even though I was physically there and they were aware of the switch even suggested it. I'm out of money I didn't have. I called multiple times. I asked to speak to the only person that can authorize a refund. The manager has been avoiding me like the plague. Do not stay here if you desire to have matters dealt with professional courtesy. I deserve a conversation at the very least. Disrespectful, blatantly rude and horribly evil to do people this way. My account is overdrafted with fees attached because of a mistake I didn't make. No one cares to correct it. I am low income and homeless. I couldn't afford the room myself. I have health issues, just got out of surgery 2 weeks ago. I was trying to get some peace and solace away from the shelter. Now my peace has been disrupted making my healing process more difficult and time consuming.

I needed to be close to UC Berkeley, and not have to worry about parking everyday. This filled the bill. 12 minute or so walk to the College. Plenty of places to eat etc...very few homeless! A breakfast place 2 minutes away for breakfast and coffee as of 6:00 am...very important also.

The staff was nice and really helpful. The location was decent and really close to the Greek theater which is why I booked it. But everything else about this location was questionable. We got a nonsmoking room but the second we walked in the whole room smelled like smoke and the smell never went away. The room looked like it had never been cleaned they just made the beds. I found dark hairs and stains all over the room, the blankets, pillows, sheets, bath mat, shower, and in the sink. the ceiling was cracked and had water damage. The shower had the holders on the wall for shampoo and soap bottles but they were completely empty and the bathroom only had bar soap and a tiny shampoo but no conditioner or any kind of lotion.

Nice upgrade
I stayed in this property years ago and it's clearly had a facelift. Both the bed and bath nicely improved. The front desk staff was cheerful and helpful. The location is very convenient to BART and multiple bus lines. Good value for money.
