Thanks for your thoughtful review! I also wish there was a bar at the main pool and not just a store -- Next time I get to an HOA meeting I'll bring that up. The reason we don't have shower shelves is it's more nook and cranny cleaning for the cleaners. They often have to turn whole 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom house over between 10:30am and 4pm so we try to keep things as simple as we can for them so the house will be squeaky clean for each guest. I just checked in with the property manger on hooks for towels to see if she can think of a solution to that problem!

Wanted to provide a quick response for potential guests reading this review. We don’t provide sponges and the cleaners throw any left behind out between guests as saving them would be unhygienic so I’m not sure what sponges this guest is referring to. We do provide a mop and bucket, located in the garage. After discussing this review with the property manager we are switching our pots and pans over from stainless steel to non-stick.

I wanted to further explain the HVAC system for anyone reading this review. Our HVAC system is programmed to be able to be lowered by guests to 72 degrees which is standard for every vacation rental home that we have stayed in or managed in the area. The system is also programmed to return up to 75 degrees at a few regular intervals throughout the day to save energy (it can be set immediately back to 72 if guests are in the house). We can unlock these programs for a fee. As for the gnats, this guest checked in after a big rain and two days before the weekly pool maintenance was scheduled. When the property manager was notified of the gnats the evening the guest checked in she got there promptly the next morning and cleared all of them. Unfortunately fighting the bugs in Floria is a constant battle for us!

I appreciate your review and I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay! I wanted to touch on a few things that you mentioned just in case readers want more information. The alarm on the sliding glass door that goes out to the pool is annoying on purpose -- it's a legal requirement in the state of Florida for any vacation rental home with a pool to prevent children from drowning. The alarm requires you to push a button every time you open the door to the pool to disarm it. The stainless cookware lasts much longer in a vacation rental home as guests tend to use metal kitchen utensils and scratch the non-stick coating off of pots and pans coated with it. It does take a little extra oil/fat to prevent food from sticking. I personally never bother with renting a grill when I'm at the house but some guests love it, especially if they're vacationing from somewhere cold and/or they don't have a grill at home. The house does not have a grill of its own as keeping one there would quickly become unsanitary. For guests that want a grill, I arrange rental through a third-party company. The rental grill comes cleaned and with a full propane tank. It is unsafe to use the grill in the screened-in pool area as there isn't much space around the pool and the grill could easily be bumped and start a fire. There isn't any exterior lighting outside the screened area as it would shine right into the neighbors' pool area or windows. Most guests make due with the flashlight feature on their cell phone if they need extra light. In the summer months when the days are long it usually isn't an issue. Just wanted to note that the clubhouse pool generally is heated in the cooler months (which should include October). I suspect there was a maintenance issue during your stay. We've used the pool and hot tub at the club house in December, January, and February and the temperature has always been lovely!

I’m so glad that your group had a great stay! Just wanted to clarify that the pool alarm should not make any noise if you use it properly. You have to open the sliding glass door, then you have 30 seconds to press the alarm button. This is so children can’t sneak out to the pool. If you leave the door open you’ll have to re-press the button every 30 seconds until you close the door. Correct about adding any visiting guests ahead of time — the resort is highly secure for our guests’ safety so any day guests need to be arranged ahead of your stay.
