It's A sorry thing when SOMEONE like wilbur Brown stay's with you . He doesn't want to pay for his stay and tries to get a refund after he stay's a night. Didn't ask you to come here and DAM SURE DON'T WANT YOU BACK.

IT is still a wonder to me that no one say's anything while staying with us but THEY CAN RUN THEIR MOUTH AFTER THEY LEAVE. AS for the plastic on the mattress we have them for people like you STEAVEN DAY.WE DON'T WANT OUR THINGS GETTING YOUR FUNK ON THEM. PEOPLE LIKE YOU GIVE A BAD NAME TO EVERYTHING THEY DO. Clean, friendly management, wonderful view
Great location, in spite of being across the street from the beach; nothing can be built in front of it, so you can't beat the view! We were disappointed there was no pool, and we couldn't sit outside without being subject to smokers. The hotel had very friendly management, but charged a fifteen dollar cleaning fee and we never saw a maid during our short stay. Great for what it is, a old, Florida style motel, but clean and in a wonderful uncrowded section of Ormond by the Sea.

Relaxing extended stay
Great Location and Management. This is an older place that is in the process of being updated. Due to our circumstances, we had an opportunity to stay in all three room types; all were clean and well-maintained. Lisa and John were more than accommodating for our extended stay. The other guests here were obviously having a good time fishing and swimming at the beach. Steps away, there is a nice deck, owned by Ocean Crest, leading directly onto the beach. I will definitely recommend Ocean Crest for any of my family or friends when they come to visit

You pay for what you get.
Location was decent for our trip close enough to where we were going. Little oversold the beachfront.. not accurate - across the street and through the overgrowth. WORSE bed ever. Seems like nothing has been done since the 70s. Bring your own shampoo and extra towels nothing offered here. People were nice but would not stay there again unless they offer free chiropractor after each night. Really could use a good remodel.

Upon arrival there was no one there to check us in, a phone number was listed on the office which i called and was told to go to room 7 which was to no avail. People sitting outside informed me that "he" had gonw to a hardware store and would be back in a few. After being on the road for 21/2 hours and wanting to freshen up to meet up with family we left and checked in to another hotel. Was unable to cancel my reservation and did not get a refund.

We had no vacancy and Expedia was told to relocate you days before, which they did not do. I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience, this makes me and our motel look bad. Please contact Expedia for refund, they shouldn't deny you a refund for their mistake.

It could use some repair. It was my first experience at a non-commercialized motel. There is no service desk, etc. Friendly, location was excellent, out of hustle-bustle of tourists.

We do have an office, but as the property manager I am always in and out of the office. We 100% always inform our guests that if you need anything to give a call, we always have some sort of staff (housekeeper, maintenance) on property. As new owners with an old building we strive for cleanliness and costumer service, while we play keep up with repairs and renovations. Thank you for your feedback, feel free to visit anytime.

We stayed for one night passing through town. It was fine for that. The dryer had broken so we were short a sheet. The service was great and they were very apologetic.

Smelled like bug spray everyday for 5 days. Mattress kept falling off bed frame. Curtains so old they were dry rotted. No wash clothes and the three bath towels we were given were ruff with holes. No one came to empty trash or give us clean towels for 5 days.

I am terribly sorry to hear about your experience. I am the property manager and was out of the country for a week, but i am very big on telling our guests to let us know if there is anything at all we can do for them. I wish you had just asked instead of not saying anything for 5 days. Please come back so we can give you a better experience with a discounted rate (call in).

A quaint spot. Just cross the street and you are on the beach and it’s semi private, not crowded. A lil older but we had a great stay. Staff was very sweet and accommodating. Definitely will return.

Beach get away
I wanted a beachfront stay for one night. Ocean Creasy was my selection. It is across from the beach, easy access and nice grounds at the motel. The place does need some TLC, but it provided what I wanted, plus at a good rate.

Classic '50s beach motel... needs some serious upgrading. Forget trying to charge a cell phone or computer - no three-pronged plus, and my cell charger kept falling out of the only available plug. The resident staff was incredibly solicitous - made the stay at least bearable. The GIANT HEAVY old tv fell off its rickety old metal stand while I was looking for a plug - wasn't anchored at all. Could have done some serious damage to me! There is a much nicer motel a few blocks back up the beach toward the bridge. Try it out!

I'm sorry you feel this way about our establishment, you were told to call if you needed ANYTHING at all which you didn't. You brought 5 people to a room that would fit 4 at max, you said we had no cable or wifi when in fact we have full cable and wifi (we would of been more than happy to help/show you how to use it). I'm the first person you talked to before entering you room and I made sure you knew that if you needed anything to call me back and that I also had my housekeeper on site to assist with anything... I should be giving you 1 star ma'am. I hope my response is seen by other people because it's tenants like you that give small beach side places a bad name. Again, i'm sorry you felt this way but in the future please don't try to take advantage of a place then leave a bad review when you don't get your way.

First of all there's no molding around the doors you can see daylight. No hangers in the closet. If he figured he had no ice trays and there was black ice in there that need to be defrosted. That was mold and bugs on the windowsills curtains look like they're back in the 1800s. The floor felt dirty and very sandy that we had to wipe her feet before we got into bed. If I had to stay a week I would've refused it but it was only three days just needed a place to sleep and shower. I think it needs to be updated but I would not recommend to anybody. We were not happy did not get service for the three days we were there we had to make The bed every day and use the same towel is the same every day.

As new owners, we will be renovating. I'll address the ice and mold issue with our housekeeping, but as for the floors we are on the beach and everything between the car and the room is sand. In other words we sweep and mop our floors, old time beachside mom and pop motels isn't for everybody and you should consider that next time you book a motel on the beach. Lastly, we are BIG on CALL if any concerns, questions or if you need anything... We could of tried to make your stay more enjoyable.

Just hope their is a vacancy when I'm in the area
I had a nice stay here at Ocean Crest. Davis was extremely friendly and helpful with any questions and concerns. I arrived quite early, but was able to check in, as a room was ready. It's a quiet, comfortable, clean, and nicely located motel. Ocean view from every room, and covered porch with chairs outside your door to relax and listen to the waves, read a book, or visit with other guests. No pool, but a private deck beachfront for motel guests to enjoy also. It's a throwback motel, but comfy. I've found in my travels around the state, that the places you find snowbirds renting by the month, are clean, comfortable, and economical. Though some may disagree, this is a little gem. And I noticed pet friendly too.

Needs many updates but is across from the beach. The beds are hard and noisy. Anytime someone turns over you can hear the bed squeak. Couldn't get the shower to work without much difficulty. You can hear anything next door or outside.

Nice place to stay
The motel is under new management. The staff worked hard to make our stay enjoyable. They are in the middle of up grading bed and TV's.

Ok hotel, but prime location
This place definitely needs some work. Room was clean enough, but shower did not drain as it should, A/C was outdated and television was huge and boxy on a wobbly stand (would be better to just get rid of it as we were trying to avoid knocking it over the whole time). Wi/fi was non-existent and with no cell service, kind of annoying. Location was fantastic though and worth the discount price alone.

Great location, lousy accommodations!
First of all, I want to start by stating that the young man in the office was very nice upon our arrival. I’m not sure if he was the owner or an employee, but he was very nice. Also, the location is right across the street from the beach so you can see the beach from your window. It’s also close to all the good restaurants, parks and attractions. With that said, I have to say that I HAVE NO IDEA how this property has a 4+ rating. When we got into the room it smelled of urine, cigarette smoke and mold. Upon further inspection, we moved the beds from the walls and there was black mold all over the area on the wall that the bed covered. The floor had obviously never been swept and the bathroom was no better. The black out curtains on the windows were all worn and looked like they’d been in battle. We ended up having to buy cleaning supplies in order to disinfect and get rid of the smell. This place has a NO REFUND policy so we were screwed and everything else around us was WAY too expensive. We ended up trying to spend as little time as possible in the room and only getting back when it was time for bed. Like I said, i don’t know how this place has a 4+ rating. Either other folks have much lower standards or we got the CRAPPIEST room they had. We won’t be back.

I will be addressing this issue with our cleaning staff, there is no excuse for this and we have a 4+ star for a reason. I'm the property manager you met and i wish you addressed this to me directly so i could of done something about it. We are new owners and management and have plans for renovations. There was someone in that room for over a month right before your arrival so my cleaning lady should of put more effort and detail into the room. I apologize and am thankful for your feedback... we WILL fix this situation so it doesn't happen again.

Friendly Staff
Although the motel is very old, it was clean and had a comfortable feel to it. The manager is very friendly and helpful.. Cant beat the location right across the street from the beach.

Ocean Crest Motel
It is a nice location with ocean waves visible across the road. My main problem is that several items were not in good order. The room lock was worn and hard to unlock from the inside. The soap holder in the bathroom had broken off and was not there. In the bathroom, the window was fixed in place about three inches up. Since it was quite chilly when I was there, some of the heat would have gone out the window if I had not covered the opening with a towel.

I did see the towel thin you were talking about, I simply shut the window. If you decide to stay with us again, I am big on calling if you have any questions. The location was perfect- across from the beach, and close to our friends' home. The main problems we had were with Wifi and cell service. Our room (#3) was in a "dead zone" with very little signal. Can't really say we had free wifi at all.

Ok place if you're on a really tight budget
Good points: free internet and cable, microwave, fridge and coffee maker provided, and the AC worked. Not so good: worst point is that the mattresses were worn out on both double beds -- you automatically roll into the center of the bed. And it's still not comfortable. The slightest movements caused the springs to squeak. MY gf and I wound up using separate beds to minimize discomfort. We were in Room 3. Floors had a nice coating of sand. The only lock is the door knob type and it was in such bad shape it was hard to unlock and open from the inside. I don't mind older motels, but I do prefer they be maintained. This one isn't.

The hotel is old but you can tell the owners try to keeo it up! Jeremy was very very helpful in getting us settled in. The kitchentte does need upgrading but the room was spacious...Thanks Jeremy for helping us...

Quaint retro motel across from the ocean
I arrived on Thanksgiving evening, after a terrible rainy ride, What a pleasure to find my way to this great motel. I knew in booking there would be limited amenities, which was fine with me. I wanted a clean quite place to stay. That is what I got. Across the street is a great deck and stairs down to the beach. With impending storm the views at the beach were great. MY room was fine, both beds were tastefully made up, and most comfy. As the temps had dipped, maybe a blanket would have been nice, but it was okay with out. The shower space was large and spacious. Loved the retro tile work in there. If I had any kind of negative it would be the towels are kinda small and could use a touch of softener. The mini fridge and micro were nice to have, and worked just fine. Also maybe a TV guide list to find channels easier. Overall if you are looking for a nice quite place this is a great choice..As a single women who travels alone a lot, this is a place I would come to again.
