SUPER-hotel met SUPER restaurant dichtbij Orvieto
Het beste hotel van onze vakantie! Ik sluit me aan bij de andere beoordelingen. Wij verbleven 3 dagen (is naar mijns inziens lang genoeg!) Schitterend zicht vanaf de heuvel (wijngaard). Wij hadden de Superior Apartment (gelijkvloers) – (2 volwassenen + 2 kinderen). Kinderen slapen op de uitklapbanken in de keuken. Restaurant is TOP – zeker doen! De prijs is vergelijkbaar met gangbare prijzen in België en Nederland (+- 30 EUR/persoon inclusief wijnen en dessert). Tip: doe boodschappen in Orvieto (géén warenhuizen in de buurt). Neem de gegrilde hamburger aan het zwembad (12 euro). Zwembad is ook TOP (en vooral zen)! Orvieto Centro Storico is toch dik 15 a 20 minuten rijden (maar zeker de moeite!). Resort is inderdaad moeilijk te vinden. Ga niet af op je GPS! Komende van Orvieto volg je best "Sferracavallo" (en Allerona). Voor het tankstation een scherpe bocht naar links (de steile heuvel op). Orvieto Underground is een topper voor kids (in de zomer is het laatste bezoek om 17:30). De toren is ook een must do! En uiteraard de duomo met geweldige apocalypse muurschildering.

I didn’t expect plastic disposable cups when staying at a wine resort. We had the degustation dinner with matching wines…wines were great but there were a couple of dishes which were somewhat disappointing, explanations as to why these dishes were not to our taste was met with a very curt….’well the painting is excellent’….not sure why you would ask if you don’t want the feedback. Staff at checkin were not at all friendly, however a very different experience with the breakfast staff who were great. Overall, a very underwhelming experience, I won’t return.

Posto tranquillo ma quando piove o d’inverno spostarsi dalla propria camera per accedere alla struttura in cui c’è il ristorante e la Spa non è il massimo c’è un percorso a piedi da dover fare. Sicuramente meglio le stanze interne alla struttura. Almeno per me che quando vado fuori vorrei il massimo delle comodità.

It was quiet but there is no transportation. The annex building is on fire far from the main building and restaurant that when it opens At dinner time it is dark and scary and if it is raining and windy there is no option for transportation to main buildings but walking solo females may want to not make this choice. I was very scared with no help if something happened on the path

We had the most amazing time at Altarocco. We loved our suite (Gran Cru) and the property was stunning. Never again!
We really don't appreciate having to step around dog turds around the pool and outdoor dining area. That is disgusting as are the dog owners who cause it. I understand these people probably have mental health issues but the hotel should make sure they clean up the turds or stop allowing dogs all over the property. That said, we appreciate the sincere efforts of the grounds keeper to maintain the property. He does an excellent job and it's not his fault that some of these dog owners are selfish and slovenly. The maid was also very good and kept the room in pristine condition. Also, nobody mentioned that there would be loud blaring awful music playing until 11:30 pm right outside the rooms, so good luck getting to sleep if you need to get up early to travel. Would NEVER recommend this place.

An excellent property in the Italian countryside with beautiful views and everything you’d need. Not walkable to nearby Orvieto, but the English-speaking front desk staff will help you get a cab—or a reservation, or a spa appointment, or anything else.

This place is wonderful. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The staff is always ready to help, assist, friendly and competent. The restaurant is terrific. Sitting on the balcony eating your (complementary) breakfast or having a drink in the afternoon is wonderful. Last but not least, the SPA was excellent in every way!

The property is just outside the ancient hilltop town of Orvieto in Umbria and is surrounded by vineyards. The rooms were beautifully decorated with stunning patio views and the most comfortable beds of our trip! We also had an outstanding dinner at their restaurant - Invinum Gourmet - for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!
