Wish I would have found this sooner
This place is absolutely perfect for any visit to Clarkson! So clean and comfortable and only four minutes away from campus. Wish I would have found this on our first visit. It is close, yet so relaxing by the river with so many things to do to relax. Beth, the host, is very kind and helpful for absolutely anything you may need. Definitely recommend to any first year parents for a perfect place to stay throughout your childs college events throughout the years!

Peaceful!
This was perfect for a long weekend after we dropped off our son at college. It was very comfortable and clean. We even walked down to the river and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Beth offered just the right amount of communication and is very helpful! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Perfect get away
Beth's place is exactly what is advertised. A great modern, clean home with all the amenities. Because of the rain we weren't able to get out on the water because of flooding, but having the firepit, igloo and hot tub we didn't even miss it. We will definitely be back again!

The place was very clean. Seems to have been done or remodelled recently, as everything seems new. Quiet place, stayed for a week. Well equipped kitchen with some spices and cooking supplies. Very close to Clarkson. Price Chopper or Walmart/Aldi are close.

Weekend Getaway
This property was awesome! The apartment was spotless when we arrived. There is a really nice view of the river. The walkway to get to the small beach area is a little steep but there is a railing along the way that helps a lot. Our fire pit/hot tub area was very private and perfectly cozy. We stayed here at the same time as other guests but we wouldn’t have even known they were there. The igloo is so cool, really nice to read a book and enjoy the outside. The bathroom was stocked with everything you could need and the bed was very comfortable. Less than a 5 minute drive to restaurants/grocery stores. We will be back here for sure!

Paradise on Raquette River
Stayed at Beth’s Place II for the weekend. Perfect location for any of the colleges and is just far enough away on the river to enjoy peace and quiet. Beth kept in touch each day and was always ready to answer questions. Kayaking is a must, some rocky areas and a little bit of current but manageable. The place was perfect for the 3 of us with my son loving the Murphy bed. All the amenities you could ask for and more. I will definitely recommend to all! Thank you Beth and Jim!

Awesome Expereince at Beth's Place II
My family of 4 (11 and 13 year old boys) had a wonderful long weekend at Beth's Place II. We were searching for a place where we could unwind before heading back to school and this was perfect. We spent a ton of time kayaking on the river, fishing both from the dock and the kayaks (catching many), putting golf balls and relaxing by the fire pit and hot tub. Enough to keep us busy for our entire stay. We even had a bald eagle visit us while fishing one day. The entire place both inside and out was spotless and like new. Even the gas grill was impeccably clean. The beds were all comfortable. Beth and Jim were perfect hosts - friendly and accommodating but not overbearing. We even took Beth up on her offer to show us the ropes of kayaking and navigate the tricky spots of the river near the City of Potsdam. The hill to the water is steep but not terrible - you just want to make sure you bring everything with you and not make any unnecessary trips if you can help it. The entire place both inside and out was spotless and like new. Even the gas grill was impecablely clean . The beds were all comfortable. Beth and Jim were perfect hosts - friendly and accomodating but not overbearing. We even took Beth up on her offer to show us the ropes of kayaking and navigate the tricky spots of the river near the City of Potsdam. Relaxing
Very relaxing and quiet property. In a very convenient location but also out far enough that you feel like your not right in potsdam. The hot tub was a hit but just wish it was not such a very steep hill to the water access. The picture looks like a private beach but we were not able to swim it. Overall our stay was very relaxing!

Dear Jen, We are glad that you found your stay to be relaxing. That is something that we strive for here. But we are very sorry to hear you found it too steep to make it down to the river and there for could not swim. I do mention in the description about the trail and having a couple of steep parts where there are hand rails. My best friend and I stayed here for a girls getaway. This place was fabulous!! Beth and Jim have every detail imaginable covered. There was more “extra” stuff that even most hotels don’t provide. It is super clean and the beds were comfortable. We spent 2.5 hours kayaking, enjoyed the hot tub, and had take out delivery. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Getaway
My family stayed at this property for Easter. It was set up perfect for visiting. We sat in the igloo and talked, checked out the little putting area and explored by the river. The apartment was stocked with items to make a small meal.We had a wonderful time together. I’m sure we will be back!

And while the room had sufficient instructions and suggestions for our time in Potsdam Beth also made herself incredibly available. Hot tub was in a nice secluded space with easy to follow directions. Fantastic spot close to town!

What a relaxing place to be!
Beth's Place was everything it said it was going to be. It was very relaxing, quaint, and quiet! The apartment was clean, had everything we needed. When the fridge broke, Beth and Jim replaced it within an hour of us letting them know, and Beth also went grocery shopping to replace what we lost. They were beyond accommodating. Beth also offered to kayak us up through town to show us around. Keyless entry made it super easy to get in and out, with no worries about losing a key! I would highly recommend staying with them if you find yourself wanting to go to the Adirondacks. Their place is close to downtown, there is great fishing, and kayaking. Lake Placid is only 90 minutes away and makes for a wonderful day trip!

Riverfront Getaway
Beautifully decorated rental with private hot tub and fire-pits supplied with wood, chairs and outdoor festive lighting. Kayaks are also available and my husband and I chose a tandem and paddled to downtown Potsdam. Highly recommend and priced right!

It felt like our own personal resort
Beth & Joe were welcoming, but not overbearing hosts. The property was classy & spotless with everything you needed. We kayaked to town (kayaks provided) and Beth not only met us with new water shoes, but offered to be our guide to navigate a tricky part of the river! We golfed on the putting green and relaxed in the hot tub. The beds & pillows were comfortable, including the Murphy bed and excellent shower! There’s even pizza delivery available. We will definitely return and have already recommended to friends! 5 stars, no hesitation!

My oldest son graduated from SUNY Potsdam this year. We normally stayed at the local hotel in the past, but I decided to go out of my comfort zone and look on VRBO....so glad I did! We had 4 in our group and Beth's Place 2 fit all of our needs! If you need more amenities than was listed...Beth's place is right next door! The description was exact! Very clean. Very private. Very relaxing! My youngest is still going to school at Clarkson...I will be staying at Beth's Place(1or2!) Next time I am there!

Perfect Graduation Weekend
My wife & I can not thank Beth enough for everything she did to make our son’s graduation weekend at Clarkson perfect! She was very accommodating & was happy to let us have family & friends over for a pre-graduation cookout & even had the fire pit set up for us. At the end of the evening it was so nice to relax in the hot tub. The apartment was beautifully decorated & fully stocked with everything we needed. Our only regret was we didn’t find Beth’s place before our son graduated because we would have stayed at Beth’s place every time we visited. Thank you Beth for making our son’s graduation absolutely perfect!

Staying at Beth’s was exactly what we needed. The private apartment and private outdoor space were immaculate and full of amenities. We were able to ski at Titus 45 minutes away and come back to a kitchen, hot tub, and fire pit. Beth has a great guide for what to do in the area that I recommend asking for early to help you plan.

Comfy and chill
Beth place was amazing! The morning and evening views from the large windows were stunning. We enjoyed our stay by visiting the the lake on the premises, it had just snowed and we had a great time. Beths place has great amenities like the igloo jacuzzi and a fire place. My friends and I had a very relaxing time, it was exactly what we needed. Beth made us feel welcomed and suggested some activities near by. The place is not equipped with a stove or large refrigerator, something she’s looking to update, can’t wait for that! We totally made the electric stove work and used the tiny fridge to our advantage, we got exactly what we needed nothing more. We don’t like complicate and everything in the apartment was as described, we couldn’t ask for more. Will definitely be visiting through the summer or fall, no doubt that the scenery will be stunning. Thank you so much for everything Beth!!!

Don’t stay anywhere else!
Such a great find! There are not too many places to stay in the Potsdam area close to the college and I didn’t want to do a budget motel - this was clean as Could possibly be - this was right on the river and we took advantage and used the kayaks - Beth was helpful and even gave us kayak tips and offered to be our guide if we wanted - there was even a fire pit fully ready to lit and an adorable outside igloo with what looked like brand new furniture outside if having at the stars in a cozy way

Great girls weekend getaway
This property is exactly as it is pictured. Very well decorated and clean. Also has all of the pots, pans, dishes and utensils that you would need. Beth and her husband were very helpful leading up to the trip answering all of our questions. They also set up a fire for us several nights and got us plenty of firewood which made it easy to sit and enjoy the fire pit outside of the apartment. It was great to have our own personal outdoor space on the property too. We also took full advantage of the river. They had plenty of kayaks, paddles and life jackets for us. When we weren’t kayaking we were floating in tubes off of the dock. The hill getting down to the water is a bit steep, but it became our physical activity for the day. Having a view of the river throughout the apartment was nice to wake up to every day! An added bonus / surprise was the garden igloo that was set up in the backyard. They had comfy furniture and cute hanging lights that made it really nice to sit in and hang out, especially at night. Would definitely come back again for another long weekend!

Nice spot by the river
We enjoyed our stay at Beth's place II. One of the most important things to us in a place is that it's clean, and this one is! All the furnishings were nice and functional. The decor was tasteful and the view of the river from the unit was beautiful. The Murphy bed is a nice way to have extra sleeping space without cluttering up to room during the day. The bathroom was clean and functional. We probably did a bit more cooking than others might and while the kitchen is limited, we were able to make several meals without a problem. We also used the outside grill. The proximity to Clarkson was a major plus for us since we were bringing our daughter there for the semester. With the current Covid situation, we couldn't hang around on campus, but could easily run back and forth from there to Beth's place. Our hosts were there to support us if we needed it but didn't put any restrictions on our plans. We would definitely return here!
