Sfeervol en gastvrij, centraal gelegen in Rome
Geweldige ligging centraal in de oude stad, vlakbij Pantheon en Piazza Navona. Het hotel is een subvestiging van een grotere, op 5 minuten afstand, waar checkin en ontbijt is. Gastvrij ontvangen. We werden door een medewerker, die onze koffers droeg, naar ons hotel gebracht. Hotel zelf is in leuk steegje, met cafeetjes om de hoek, in een mooi oud pand. Heel sfeervol ingericht. Het ontbijt is op 5 minuten lopen, op de bovenste etage van de hoofdvestiging. Pracht uitzicht over Rome en ruim assortiment aan ontbijt.

Kunst of Kitsch?
Het hotel met 5 kamers is een dependance van een hotel op ± 300 m. lopen, waar de receptie is en waar je op het dakterras met prachtig uitzicht kunt ontbijten. De ligging is zeer rustig, maar als je niet tegen een duistere kamer zonder daglicht en uitzicht kan zou ik dit hotel niet aanbevelen. Je hebt ook geen idee wat voor weer het is! Voor de inrichting was klassiek /antiek gekozen, wat in alles was doorgevoerd, incl. een levensgrote "Rembrandt" boven het bed en een fake fresco op een muur. Dat gaf wel een aparte sfeer, maar maakte de kamer niet lichter. Maar de kamer was ruim, het bed was goed en er werd elke dag prima schoongemaakt. Fijn: koffie en thee. De badkamer was niet zo handig ingedeeld. Weinig stangen voor handdoeken, kleine wastafel zonder planchet, geen plank om toilettassen op te zetten, slechte verlichting om je op te kunnen maken en een kleine doucheruimte (wel met een heerlijke douchekop). Opvallend was dat er 14 zeepjes en 12 zakjes shampoo waren, maar dat er geen douchegel was. Minibar was er niet, wel een klein koelkastje dat niet erg koelde. Water uit de kraan was kouder. Het ontbijt was goed, het dakterras geweldig, maar het was jammer dat er geen enkele variatie in was. Elke dag precies hetzelfde brood, beleg, gebak, fruit en (niet lekker!) een te lang gekookt koud ei met groene verkleuring om de dooier. Maar het personeel was fantastisch: behulpzaam, vriendelijk en attent. Tijdens het ontbijt was er zelfs iedere ochtend een 'meeuwenverjager' aanwezig

Netjes, uitstekende ligging en de locatie van het ontbijt (5 minuutjes lopen) op het dakterras is echt adembenemende. En de brutale meeuwen zijn best amusant.

We hadden een zeer goed bed, een nette badkamer & toilet voorziening. Het ontbijt was erg goed verzorgt, ook al was t bij t hotel, met een view over Rome op t dakterras. Zeer prettig begin van de dag.

Goede uitvalsbasis
De kamers van dit hotel liggen op een leuke plek in de stad en is prima uitvalsbasis om veelal te voet de oude stad te verkennen. Wij hadden de standaard 2-persoonskamer, welke klein, maar knus en gezellig was. Enige minpunt was de badkamer. Die had schimmelige voegen en het toilet, bidet en wastafel waren afgesmeerd met kit, alsof er een laag tandpasta op zat. De badkamer zag er dan ook niet prettig uit. Daarnaast moet je er rekening mee houden dat op deze locatie geen ontbijt wordt geserveerd. Je moet hiervoor naar het hoofdhotel, welke op circa 250 meter van de locatie verwijderd is. Voor ons echter geen probleem. Romapass aan te bevelen, ivm skip the line, korting musea, OV (reisadvies via dames receptie). Vaticaan en Sixtijnse kapel van te voren boeken via officiële site Vaticaan!

Very inconvenient to checkin. The office to checkin is quiet far away especially we have to carry the luggage with us. Pubble stones are not easy to carry the luggage’s with small wheels. Huge picture on the bed head as big as a queen bed, a picture of an old lady looking at you at every angle.

Did not like anything. We were placed in a different location from the hotel. It was an old unkept building with dirt stairs to a second floor. The old-fashioned key took 10 minutes to make it work each time. When we complained, they said "that is the key" and did nothing about it. The hair dryer did not work. The information on Expedia was totally deceiving. Expedia should drop this property.

En esas habitaciones no nos pudimos quedar, pues es imposible dormir en instalaciones tan malas, principiando por el acceso, escaleras, habitación, etc. Para desayunar hay que ir a otro hotel caminiando 400 metros. Me vi obligado a ir a otro hotel, pagando tres veces más caro. Le pido a Expedia que tramite que me reintegren el dinero que les pagué por adelantado, ya que lo hice confiando en que era de los hoteles que recomiendan ustedes. Tambien le sugiero a Expedia que visite ese hotel para que constaten lo malo y deprimente que es y no lo tengan en sus listas. Repito que se me reintegre el pago que hice, pues no utilicé absolutamentee nada de ese hote, pues fue un engaño, ya que no coincide la realidad con las fotos.

Location is very good, the apartment was good size but in order to get there you need to do the check in few blocks away, that was the first bad sign, then the alley that gets to the property is not clean, to get to the apartment you have a very inclined stairs, the keys are also old and not easy to open the doors

The property was surprisingly good. We thought we would be taking a risk on a characterful hotel, but the room was great, with an incredible location. It was exactly what we needed. The check-in is slightly out of the way, so do bear that in mind on arrival. We were warned but forgot. However this does add to the secluded vibe of the room, which turned out to be very enjoyable, especially with the air con. Excellent value for money.

Antica Delle Orso is a property operating under the umbrella of Antica Dimora Delle Cinque. Second time staying with them, I enjoyed the room they gave me, atmospheric with a quiet lane view. Towels and bedsheets could use an upgrade as they show their age. My issue is with the front desk annoying young woman on June 13 around 2pm who amazingly refused to book me a taxi and actually argued with me. Normally this is a simple thing so dealing with her was exceedingly frustrating as she refused to do her job! So many hotels in Rome to stay, and I certainly don't want this type of hassle.

What was unique about this property was that it was quite possibly the worst place we have ever stayed. Check in is at a deceptively nice hotel but then they lead you to a remote location blocks away. There is no staff on site and the entrance is at the end of a trash strewn alley. The room is at the top of some very steep and poorly lit stairs and past three locked doors that require you to carry several large and heavy keys. Our room was over a bar or restaurant where the noise ran loud and late. The bathroom had mold growing in the shower and the water temp varied wildly while it ran so you were treated to scalding temps and then ice water. The "safe" in the room was not not attached to anything and could easily be carried away so it wasn't very safe. The placard on the door states that the MAX room rate is between 89 and 150 Euros but we were charged over two hundred a night for this dump. The breakfast was nice but it was nearly 2/10 of a mile away in a separate building. But let me tell you about the bed. The mattress was so old and wallowed that the ends of the springs poked you through the mattress cover, and the bedspread was so dirty as to be scary. Don't let their pictures fool you. This place isn't "classic" or "historical". It's old, run down, and a tourist trap! Beware!

Liked the decor, the bed was ok. The size of the room was quite spacious. The terrace where they serve breakfast is breathtaking. We missed the part where check in isn’t at the address of the room so it was a lot of tiring hustle after the flight. Wifi is pretty awful. All in all an ok experience.

Feels like it's close enough to the nightlife while still feeling very safe and removed from main streets. Staff were charming, polite, and helpful - front desk agent even carried my bags to the separate building :) . Free breakfast was superb, full spread of fruits, pastries, meats and cheese, and coffee of course. The view from the rooftop was a stunning start to our day. Would definitely return (hopefully soon!)

Perfekt beliggenhed midt i Rom. Skønt værelse i gennemført gammel stil, en oplevelse i sig selv. Tjek ind var på en anden beliggenhed, ejeren fulgte os selv til værelset og fortalte i mellemtiden om byen og seværdigheder. Tagterrassen hvor morgenmaden blev serveret var fantastisk med en enestående udsigt. Sengene var meget hårde.

Property is off the beaten path down a back alley about 5 min from reception and the area of breakfast. Stairs are dark and steep. Room was very unique, quiet, and eclectic. One queen bed and a sofa queen worked for our one night stay as we transited through Rome. Location is amazing for access to everything. No local parking available, need to find street parking.

The photo of this property tricked us in booking the room. It is in a very small secluded alley. Not much ventilation in the room. Check in process is tedious as the bell outside connects to the main building which is half a mile away. I would recommend you stay in the main building or another property of their Antica Dimora Cardinale Nardini which was far better and has a lot of eating options close by.

The room had a very authentic “Rome” feel to it. The location was pretty perfect to get to good rome attractions. Bus services were easy and it’s local to many restaurants. The only thing was that it was next to a restaurant which cooking smells would come into the room so leaving windows open slightly during the day so it can air out wasn’t much of an option. I would definitely stay again though.

The location was great, a 10 minute walk to the Castel d'Sant Angelo. Period property with interesting features. Steep steps to the rooms. Some people may not like that you had to have breakfast in another hotel which is just around the corner but to us it was the same as going out for breakfast every morning. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming.

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel. It is in a great location, with almost all the main sights within walking distance. When we arrived we forgot that we had to check in at the larger hotel a couple blocks away. They sent someone over to let us into our room and then I had to go across to check in. Just make sure you go there first because you’ll have to anyway. The room was spacious but I found the shower a bit small. It also wasn’t the most comfortable bed but we managed. Breakfast is at the other hotel and had a range of pastries and sweets with bread, spreads, yoghurt etc. It is up on the rooftop which has a niceness view but it was hot in the sun so we ate inside. Overall it was a good stay.

Not impressed by this unfortunately. Great area, in the middle of the old city center. You need to check in at another hotel though, 3 blocks away. This is also where the breakfast is served. We did not find this information anywhere in our booking, and after a long walk in the heat we were not very happy about walking 3 more blocks and then back again to check in.. Room is okey, comfortable bed, very small room. Mildew (mold) in the shower, not very pleasant. Breakfast was allright, but be aware that the breakfast is served at the rooftop, wich is great, but it is very very hot up there, not a lot of seating in the shade, use your SPF before going to breakfast! Felt a bit "cheap" for a four star hotel to serve breakfast drinks in plastic one-time-use cups though. Plus for very friendly staff. Over all, OK, not great. Not worth the money, will not book again.
