De receptionisten waren heel vriendelijk en hulpzaam maar de rest van het personeel niet. Wij verbleven 4 nachten een onze bed werd geen enkel keer verschoond of opgemaakt. Het is een oud gebouw daarom was er veel geluid van het restaurant onder onze kamer dat tot laat doorging. Communale wc was iedere dag defect, zo was ook een van de wasbakken dagen lang defect. Het is een mooi oude hotel die aan een goede renovatie toe is. Het leek meer een museum dan een hotel.

Victorian style hotel. Must see, visit and stay over the night. On walking distance of the Pier 33 and 39, Chinatown. Although the comfort is not very high (small rooms, no tv, sharing showers and toilets, etc.) this hotel is a must-do. Parking garage (20 dollar) 200 meter

You described the hotel very well, but you said something that very few guests mention: The fact that we do not have TV’s or phones forces you to get slightly disconnected from your everyday routine, and the over-stimulation of information we are subject to nowadays and makes you have to do things differently. Authentiek gebouw met hele kleine Kamers. Wij vonden het helemaal leuk, vor een paar dagen en op een steenworp afstand van Fishermens Warf. Misschien een klein nadeeltje, geen mogelijkheid van frisse licht in de kamer. geen raam naar Buiten toe.

Kamperen in een hotel
Met genoegen kijken we terug op ons verblijf in dit wonderlijke hotel; wonderlijk door de inrichting (fraai, met tal van foto's en relikwieën uit het verleden) en vooral door de indeling: voornamelijk kleine kamers, kris-kras door elkaar. Omdat de badkamers en toiletten op de gang zijn, ontstaat er een soort campingachtige sfeer. Dat vindt niet iedereen leuk. Wij wel, trouwens. We hadden niks te klagen. Onze kamer had tenminste ramen en een wasbakje. Kortom: we hebben genoten en de locatie is uitstekend, in een rustige en veilige wijk op tien minuten lopen afstand van Fishermans Wharf.

Geweldig personeel. Doet er alles aan om je te helpen. Geen eigen badkamer, maar alles gedeeld omdat ze het hotel in originele staat hebben gehouden. Soms moet je daardoor even wachten om wat te kunnen doen, maar er zijn wel veel douches aanwezig. Ook zijn er male up reinigers doekjes, wattenstaafjes En nog wat andere dingen die je kan pakken. Ook is er een koffie en thee bar waar je gewoon van kan pakken.

Huiselijke sfeer. De gedeelde douche, toilet en bad waren schoon en dus geen probleem . De wastafel op mijn kamer was wel heel prettig. Alles werd dagelijks goed bijgehouden. Er was volop koffie en thee en goed koud drinkwater uit kan of machine. Zelfs een ATM! Voor deze zeer vriendelijke prijs een goede kwaliteit . Adequate receptiemedewerkers. Goede verbindingen met openbaar vervoer.

Dank u voor uw beoordeling. We zijn niet een modern hotel, in feite nemen we trots op het houden van een oude wereld charme van deze 1906 Hotel door het behoud van de historische authenticiteit. Onze medewerkers zijn normaal gesproken super vriendelijk, ik wil denken dat het de taalbarrière was, maar we zullen dit onderzoeken. We kijken ernaar uit om je weer.

My friend and I spent five nights at San Remo Hotel for our first trip to San Francisco. It was a great location--walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, close to cafes and restaurants. The staff were great and very accommodating and the turn-around for the cable car was a block away. We had no issues with the shared toilets and showers--this actually let us get ready at the same time. The only thing that was missing was a seating area with a table. It would have been nice to have our coffees and snacks (Trader Joe's is soo close) at a table, even in a common area. Would stay again!

chambre petite avec juste le nécessaire , toilette et douche à l’extérieur ( nous le savions ) mais sanitaires sales , sûrement lavé une seule fois par jour alors que l’hôtel est plein . Les douches sont sales , cheveux au fond de la douches et les toilettes n’en parlons pas . Nous avons séjournes pendant 6 nuits et 5 jours complets et notre chambre n’a été nettoyé qu’une seule fois alors que nous sortions tous les matins de bonnes heures et rentrons qu’en début de l’après midi laissant le temps au ménage d’être fait . Le jour où elle a été faite la moquette était encore très sale . Hôtel très bien situé mais il ne faut pas être regardant pour l’hygiène

Skøn natur lige rundt om hjørnet
Ophold I januar krævede brug af heater, som gjorde rummet meget varmt og uden alt for koldt . En kombi af heater og fan virkede. Rengøringen var udemærket men daglig støvsugning var manglende. Ørepropper er en god ide da der er meget lydt. Overall til prisen dog meget fint, og meget hjælpsomt personale. Stedet ligger sublimt, gåafstand til centrum og skøn natur lige rundt om hjørnet.

Like a 1920 movie set!
What an amazing hotel! Quirky, yes, but getting to enjoy the antique feel, the interesting architecture, the clean and friendly rooms and service was a treat. I cant remember the name of the old timey Italian restaurant below but the pasta was to die for and so reasonably priced! I felt like I was on a 1920s movie set!

Kind of my fault for misunderstanding the shared bathroom situation, but still, the place was not the most comfortable stay. Our room had a light that constantly flickered and no window that had direct access to sunlight. There was a window in the room - that looked into the hallway of the hotel. No ventilation either as the vent did not seem to work and obviously we would not open it. Guess the old saying stands true, you get what you pay for.

We booked 3 nights and only stayed one. We were told it was not refundable either and to contact Expedia. The room was like a shoebox. The bed was only a double size not a queen. There was literally 3 feet from the foot of the bed to the wall. The other side of the bed was pushed up against the wall and there there were two feet of space. The "wardrobe" was located there and there was a one foot space so you could not even open it to put anything in to it and when we tried to open it the handle just came right off. The whole place smelled horrible. When we got up in the morning we realized our door did not even lock when you closed the door you just push it and it opens. You share the toilets and the showers and there were only four toilets on the floor we were on and one was out of order. The building and room was freezing and no control in your room to change it either. Horrible service and no apology or anything.

人によるけど、節約と安全を取るなら良いかも
シャワー、トイレ、洗面所は共有です。 私が宿泊時は、あまり掃除している感じがなく風呂場は汚いと感じました。(海外での宿泊はホテルが多い人での感じ方かもしれません。) 後、全体的に壁が薄く環境音が、聞こえます。 1階のレストランの音とか。 一方、コーヒー、水、wifiサービスがありました。部屋は、普通に綺麗で変な匂いもしないので、共用部とある程度の音が気にならなければ良いと思います。 フィッシャーマンズワーフにも徒歩で行けますし、危険エリアからは離れているので夜出歩いても大丈夫そうな雰囲気ではありました。

Not staying there again!
The check in process was fine, trouble free. The place was easy to find, even at night. However, the pictures on the ad are very misleading. The room was very very small. I waa expecting small, but this was beyond ridiculous. Not only that, but the area had just been under some rainstorms in December, so its naturally chilly outside. There was no way for me to heat my room. I had to wear double layers inside my room, and was still uncomfortable. I asked for more blankets and was given some, but still... Also, the bed is in disrepair. You sit on one edge and the whole bed seems to want to flip. I understand trying to keep an old feel, but come on!

This is one of the really old properties in SF and it was not renovated to have private bathrooms on purpose. So if you don't like cookie-cutter hotels and don't mind sheared baths, this is for you.
