Het hotel loopt echt op zijn laatste benen, geen geluidsisolatie, alles is gedateerd en daarnaast wordt er ook nog eens niet goed schoongemaakt. Als de buren een gesprek voeren op hun kamer of op de gang lijkt het alsof ze naast je staan.

Hello Sander. I am sorry to hear about your recent experience at our hotel. We are a 111 year-old boutique property and out hotel is not a good fit for everyone. Although over 100 years-old, the hotel rooms have been refurbished and our lobby refresh will be completed in about one month from now. Our hallways are a bit compact so if there are noisy neighbors you will likely hear them when walking through. We can assist if another guest is a bit loud and have on occasion called a room to keep noise down. This does not happen often. Thanks for giving our hotel a try. Take care.

This hotel was great. Good location. I loved that they kept the old bone and character of the hotel but updated where they could. The hotel is 100yrs old so the room size reflects that still good. I almost didn't stay here because some of the comments made me feel it was unsafe. As a solo female traveler I felt as safe as I could in a big city. Even walked a couple blocks for a late night snack and was fine. I do wish they mentioned that they charged your card before you arrive at the property. Only because I thought my card info was stolen for a bit.I will be staying here again sometime.

Missed my flight, and needed a place to crash for a few hours mid day. The staff were so friendly and accommodating! The room while nicely furnished showed some signs of wear and tear. Good location, comfy bed, and most of all great staff! Enjoyed my time here more than my stay at the five star Taj Hotel, and spent a lot less!!!!

Everything about this spot was amazing. Really lovely staff that were super helpful to travellers, great location near the transit centres, right across the street to a Walgreens and 711 for some small pick ups. Only small issue was the size of the bathroom but other than that the room was super spacious, good looking and comfortable. Could not recommend a better spot to stay.

The staff members we interacted with (front desk, and cleaner) were very nice, and the room although small was clean. The hall was dark and dingy, and downstairs is undergoing a needed remodelling. The location was good.

However, I think our location, value, and service do set us apart from many of the other three-star hotels in San Francisco. Heat location for a tourist. Near Union square and many places to eat. I highly recommend the Sushi spot at the corner. The guy at the front desk was really friendly and accommodating. I caught a 5am flight and arrived at the hotel around 9am. I was able to get an early check-in he was very nice and did everything in his power to get a room. The only thing was service was being done on the cable network in the area so no Tv but he recommended getting a ROKU and the trip was saved. The room was small but very efficient and clean. Highly recommend staying here for a single person or a couple.

My stay at the Cartwright was nice overall. The rooms are very small but I’m sure that’s common in SF. Some of the outlets didn’t work so that was a bummer and the bathroom was very tiny. There were a few items in the room and places I noticed that were not as clean as I’d hoped but it was not anything terrible. Probably would not stay here again since there’s so many options in SF BUT it was still a nice experience as I still had fun on my trip with a place to sleep!

El hotel estaba en remodelacion y por tal motivo tenian suspendido el servicio de TV por cable, nunca pude ver la TV, el cuarto y baño muy pequeños, nunca fueron a hacer limpieza y me quedé 4 noches, el personal de recepcion de las mañanas muy grosero. No volveria a quedarme aqui.

I apologize for any inconvenience you encountered during our lobby refresh. I know this does not impact your stay but the renovation should be complete very soon. The cable outage during your stay was not due to the renovation but rather a problem with our cable provider. Either way we apologize for the outage. We truly want to provide our guests with a good experience and a huge part of that is making sure all of the items in room are in working order. We are a boutique hotel and this speaks directly to our room size. Our rooms are small and bathrooms are compact. We try to be as transparent as possible regarding room size to set the right expectations for our guests. I am sorry if the rooms were not what you expected. Housekeeping service is available for all guests staying three or more nights. A message was sent out at the time of booking and this is also written on the registration card signed at check-in. We would have provided service if requested. I am sorry if there was a misunderstanding. Our front desk team tries their best to provide service to all of our guests. If you would like to give us some details about what occurred during your interactions we would like to know. Thanks for giving our hotel a try and I am sorry we were not a good fit. Take Care.

Clean and basic hotel room in a convenient location. Property conditions are in rough shape as it’s an old building but bathroom seemed recently updated. My room had a mild musty smell and it’s very loud at times with slamming doors and shouting in the hallway. The window unit is extremely disruptive when turned on.
Overall it was an okay stay, I am not sure I would book here again. For the same price point and area, the King George hotel is a much more comfortable option.

We would love for you to try us out again after the common areas are upgraded. True, King George is in the general area but we are much closer, as in just steps from the famous Powell Cable Car Line. I go to San Francisco a lot for surgeries, and every hotel I’ve stayed in there was no parking nearby. It cost so much to stay there and it was kind of like a community bathroom or stairs no elevator and no one was really there to help me with anything but here they had an elevator everything was in walking distance, there was a parking garage right next-door that did overnight parking which was perfect

For future guests looking at this review, note that we are about 13 miles from San Francisco International Airport. We are not far but we are not a "SFO Airport" hotel. The entire building is a construction site, which was never mentioned in its Expedia description. There are torn-up sills and metal pipes exposed in the dark hallways, and the tiny room I was given is just a few feet from a large wall, so no view or natural light. What a complete travesty of a reservation.

There are some issues concentrated in specific areas, problems all about is not 100% accurate. However, it is nice to hear when guests like yourself are happy and satisfied. Safe Travels!
