Property is very safe. Clean. But: rooms very outdated, used up. Customer service good. Any problem, they trying to solve it immediately. The problem is: too many litle problems. Magnetic keys need to be reset every other day. Soap , shampoo, lotion never was placed without asking customers service. Food in the buffet is good but not too many options. In general good but not a “palace” level

Terrible experience! our room was dirty, so worn down that I can not imagen plus horrible spring bed! like a cheap hotel stranded. The only good thing was staff! wonderful people and very helpful. However, at the end of the day we like to rest peacefully and that was not there. As a result, I will not recommend this place for someone coming from another country to experience a low quality of standard.

The bugs in the room are unacceptable and the maintenance for the clogged sink shouldnt be delayed to last all day long. This property should warn their guest about turning the power off in the middle of the night to perform maintenance considering you have to suffer with

The property overall was beautiful the staff was nice. Although my room smelled kinda bad we tryed to change the room serval time but the staff Oscar kept giving us farther rooms and we didn’t want to walk the distance it was my fiancé birthday and he has a bad back so I didn’t want him to have to walk to far to go to our room. Also the door wouldn’t lock on the outside and the power went out on Friday around 1am so the room was hot and we had no lights for a few hours. The food was delicious the pool area and drinks was also great. I had to cut my time short. I thought being a place elite member the front desk staff would have been more considerate with moving the room for safety because the door didn’t lock and the room smelled horrible. I asked for a manager or supervisor they never came to speak with us. But we just made due and checked out 2 days earlier. Nice resort

Amazing 5 night/6 day trip. roads & getting there: it does take about 40 minutes to get there. The main road is fine, but you can hit traffic, especially from 4-6pm. But the other times we drove back-and-forth There was no traffic. Towards the end of the road before the resort it gets a little bumpy. Go slow! Rent 4 wheel drive if you plan on leaving the resort. The RIU Palace & Guanacaste are right next to each other. Each has their own pools And restaurants. Both were very quiet during the week, but got more crowded on Friday and Saturday. Nowhere near as crowded as an all inclusive in Mexico. Every night during the week we were able to get into any restaurant. We only had an issue the one night the steakhouse was closed and got stuck at the buffet. Friday’s white party- A food: Was very good! Actually very impressed because food at all inclusives are generally not very good. The resort is smaller than those in Mexico, so less food means better quality! Everything was super fresh. their are outdoor barbecue on Friday was amazing! They had these breakfast tacos on Saturday morning that were delicious! The sushi restaurant was great. Breakfast was amazing every day. They have shorter dining hours so if you want to eat all day long . . . mexico. I preffered this. Beach is a PUBLIC beach. Water was 90 degrees and beautiful for jetskiing! recommend renting a car and going to rincon de vieja for a day or night to see some of the waterfalls without the tour price!

The dining options were very good and convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds were very well maintained. My only two negatives were that the two bathroom basins wouldn't drain and it took a while to get maintenance to pull out the drain plugs. The second was some of the drinks were obviously watered down. But neither of those things would prevent me from going back.

We had a great stay at the Riu Palace. Beautiful grounds, never felt crowded, very friendly staff. Lally and Alex made our stay more enjoyable. They were constantly getting the kids involved in activities which was great for all of us. Kids never wanted to leave! Food was decent, rooms were okay. Beach was nice and we loved walking to see the monkeys nearby. Hard to get into restaurants unless you went to the first sitting. Place could be cleaner, definitely needed some upgrades, and room keys rarely worked. Despite that, everyone had fun. Love CR!

This place is amazing!! There are plenty of food choices for meals and snacks. The staff is amazing and they are never far away. There is entertainment all day at the pool. My only complaint is the abundance of bees by the pool area. They are very invasive, especially if you have a drink.

The problem with this property is the beach isn't user friendly. The beach is a public beach at the Riu Palace. There are no cabanas. I put a towel in the tree to create a shade area. If your are a pool person who doesn't like a view of the beach this place is for you. NO bathrooms near the pool or beach. You a have a bit of a walk to get to a bathroom. I am not a pee in the pool person.

Elario head chef was fantastic ran his kitchens with grace. Anthony head bartender kept them coming like a waterfall. Housekeeping kept our room stocked with towels mini bar goods and pura vida vibes. Grounds were clean and kept clean at all times.

Well, the stage was below our balcony and was extremely loud and kept us awake !!! They gave us the wrong room upon check in and we had to be moved to a lower floor with less of an ocean view which we paid extra for. If you didn’t wake up at 5:00 am to reserve a seat at the pool NO CHAIRS AVAILABLE!!! There was very limited places for lunch !!! I have stayed in Riu in Jamaica, Dominican rupblic and Mexico and haven’t had a complaint. I give this property a 4 out of 10 !!!

We were on the first floor and you could hear every slamming door. There is only one bathroom around the five pool areas which is ridiculous. It is connected to a restaurant. They need more bathroom facilities because you can only imagine how many people are using the pool as a bathroom after drinking all day.

The splash waterpark is small and rundown, but within walking distance from either resort We asked for a new room as our initial room was dirty, sludge came from the bathtub filter. The sink plungers had to be pulled out to drain. Once we talked to mgmt our new room was great! The hotel needs a remodel, has been painted but needs some work. Pool chairs say you can't reserve but they were all reserved by 8 am. Not enforced by staff as stated. Went to sister resort and would not honor towel card, so went without towels. Staff were amazing throughout our stay, no complaints there! Food was fantastic, buffet had tonnes of selection!! ( Meat was chewy, but the cows are skinny) Lol. The worst part was cutting the bands off our wrists!

Awesome resort !! Great food choices , not too crowded , family friendly .. only suggestion is to bring water shoes or more flip flops .. the cobble stones were very hot when walking around pool areas barefoot…I Burnt my feet walking on them especially at the water park ( got a few blisters)

Food was great.Staff was excellent.Beach was nice.Not enough chairs/space/washrooms near pool.Rooms highly outdated, musty w signs of mildew(luckily we stayed on the 3rd floor, seems worse on ground level).Water slides are hard on the back over the cracks.Grey water sprinkler system creates a sewage smell from 11:00p.m-12:30a.m.
