The best!
This is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Nice, clean home with comfortable beds. Kitchen is stocked, if you want to cook, but I suggest eating at ALL the restaurants on German Street. Amy, the hostess, is a very nice woman and she’s easy to work with. She really goes above and beyond for her guests. For our stay, she contacted me to see when we would arrive. She gave us an earlier check in time. She has this place stocked. If we needed paper towels or toilet paper, she has it. She has extra light bulbs. She has laundry detergent, cleaners, soaps, shampoo and conditioner. I was shocked and thankful. She’s so thoughtful, she has earplugs on the nightstand. Amy and her husband are the BEST hosts a traveler could ask for. Definitely recommend. 5 stars. 10/10. We would/will stay here again.

Great location to visit Shepherdstown
We came back to Shepherdstown to dine and visit the record store. Everything we wanted to do was within a five minute walk. The Press Room across the street is a little gem of a restaurant. The Thai place next door was a delightful surprise. The shrimp pad thai was top notch! The house was well appointed and comfortable. When not out roaming, we were able to relax and recharge.

Wonderful Shepherdstown stay
We stayed here to attend the Contemporary American Theater Festival. The house is very comfortable with lots of room and a well set-up kitchen. Terrific location - walking distance to everything in the center of Shepherdstown and to Shepherd University. Great communication with the owner.

This house is located in the center of town, and walkable to many places, or a short drive away. The owner was helpful before and during our stay. We look forward to returning for another visit soon. This was a great place to stay during the Contemporary American Theater Festival.

We enjoyed the kitchen and living room, both very comfortable.
We spent two nights over the weekend. We were particularly pleased with the kitchen and bathrooms, Well furnished. We were mainly seeing plays, eating out and shopping. The bedroom at the front of the house needs better lighting. The outdoor lights leading to the front door right at the last step are not working which made it difficult to see at night.

Amy’s place was lovely. It was very clean and had everything we needed - I thought it looked even better than the pictures on VRBO. Amy was very responsive and easy to communicate with; Shepherdstown is adorable and close to lots of historic attractions and hiking trails in the area. Very nice!
This house is lovely! Lots of room, very clean, comfortable beds and furniture. Our group of six friends had plenty of space. Location is within walking distance to restaurants, shops, historical interests. The owner responds to questions very quickly. We would highly recommend and hope to return soon!

Quiet Getaway
Immaculately maintained property! Visited Shepherdstown for a family getaway. Host was excellent communicator from moment we chose our place. She gave perfect directions to assist us in locating her property and made sure everything went smoothly. She communicated upon our arrival to let us know she was available if we needed anything. We were a party of four adults and found the house perfectly appointed. We were close to restaurants and ate at the Bavarian Inn one night and ordered takeout from the Blue Moon cafe the next. Both were excellent. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

This is our third stay at this house in the alley for the CATF. Love that is right in center of town and we can take a short walk to stores and restaurants. Also, can walk to the theater. The house is very private, clean and spacious. Very comfortable for the 2 of us and 2 friends that spent a night with us.

This is the perfect location for enjoying a visit to Shepherdstown. We could walk to everything. The house is spacious, although the shower and bathtub are smaller than they looked in the pictures. Amy was a nice host and gave us all of the info we needed and good recommendations.

We enjoyed out trip to Sheperdstown and this house. Everything was as pictured. The house was everything we needed for our trip. The home was very clean and the king size bed was very comfortable. The location was great for walking to all the restaurants and shopping. The host greeted us warmly and was available for any questions.

Friends Getaway
We had a lovely stay in Shepherdstown! The house is perfectly centrally located, but still quiet and tucked away. Ample gathering space for friends. We were three couples travelling together, and based on the description one couple had "volunteered" to take the two small beds. But we discovered these were somewhat awkwardly located, with one twin bed in a small room off the main bedroom (this was in the description), which was only accessible through the main bedroom. The other child's bed was in the second floor hallway. Our solution was to put the child's bed mattress and a blow up bed in the two huge closets in the hallway at night so they could have some privacy. This worked out for a weekend stay. Otherwise, we had everything we needed! Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry were two wonderful places to visit. We would definitely come back again! Thank you for a memorable weekend!

Great house, great location!
Went to Shepherdstown to race the Freedom's Run half marathon. The location of this house was just perfect! Walked to the check in location and to the race start and finish, which was also great for checking out some of the lovely and historical side streets in Shepherdstown. We were a multi-generational group and the house was spacious and just perfect. Beautiful house in a beautiful location, highly recommended!

Shepherdstown is just a delightful little historical town. It's a small town that looks like something out of a Charles dickens novel. This is a spacious and large and beautiful Two-story house. Extremely clean. If we ever come back to Shepherd we will rent this place again.

Sheperdstown Sanctuary
Amy's guesthouse was the perfect place for 6 of us to stay during a wedding weekend. The house was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The location could not have been more convenient - everything is about a 3-5 minute walk from the house. We highly recommend The Press Room for dinner (make reservations), Lilah's for lunch and Lost Dog Cafe for the most delicious coffee creations. We saw Amy (the host) a couple of times during our stay and she is wonderful - she even gave me safety pins when I had a dress malfunction. I highly recommend staying here if you plan to visit the Sheperdstown area.

Fantastic location, excellent host
This is a real gem of a home in a fantastic town! The amount of things that you can do here is pretty much limitless especially if you love being active there’s hiking, biking, walking trails and all sorts of amazing places to go eat and shop within a walking distance of the home. Additionally if you enjoy history Antietam is a 10 minute drive down the road. As well as a few other small towns nearby. We really enjoyed trying all of the different restaurants on the main street each one fantastic in its own way. We love the bakery and the coffee shop and the record store. If you enjoy shopping there is a great outlet mall about 25 minutes away from this house and it has all sorts of amazing stores which was fun to stroll around one day. Amy was excellent at communicating with us and even let us know when the farmers market was happening on Sunday so we could go which we also really enjoyed. Would not hesitate to stay in this home again if we are ever in the area it was truly wonderful.

Perfect Stay for Exploring Northeast West Virginia
What a great house in quaint Shepherdstown. Make no mistake - you won't be getting a lot of land to roam with this house - it's right in the middle of town, next to a great Thai restaurant. It does have a small outdoor area with a grill and a seating area. Everything you need in town is within walking distance. The closest grocery store is < 1 mile away. Access to the Potomac river is also < 1 mile away. The house is full of modern appliances, as advertised. But it's the little touches that really made a difference - for example, brochures detailing the various activities around the area are available in the kitchen, along with local restaurant menus. Additionally, Amy has a black binder in the living room with a wealth of information about the house, the town and surrounding areas. She even supplied charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill, as well as condiments and other various cooking supplies. Amy's detailed check-in and check-out instructions were easy to follow, and not onerous at all. The history in this area is incredible - Harpers Ferry, Antietam, etc. In addition to visiting various Civil War sites, we also did extensive hiking, and kayaking the rapids on the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers. So much to do! We would not hesitate to stay here again!

This was a beautifully restored home with everything you could possibly need. My husband and I brought our teenage daughter and her friend and there was plenty of room for everyone and the neighborhood was lovely. We ate breakfast up the street and had dinner one night at a Thai restaurant that was very good. This was our first time renting through Vrbo and we will happily do it again.

Historic Hidaway
We love Shepherdstown and were happy to find a home there to stay during the holidays. The house is charming and surprisingly well maintained and equipped. Large spacious rooms with comfortable beds, laundry room, separate heat control for each floor. We had everything we needed and were more than comfortable. Our host was easy to deal with and accommodating of all our needs and requests, including allowing us an early check-in to decorate for the holidays. We'll keep this one on our list of places to return to and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming location to visit and a warm and welcoming place to stay.
