'It’s super close to downtown Yorkville!! So in the months with better weather it would be perfect to stay and walk to the few restaurants downtown and little shops and the river area. We arrived a little early and the host let us in and was able to change the codes around so we could check in as it was cold out! So super accommodating helpful!! 'We came to my daughter’s wedding from Washington (Mt Adam’s) , Iowa , Northern California, Southern California . First time to have all four grandchildren at the same time . It’s very private and we were welcomed after we were settled in. Very polite family . Thank you so much for bringing firewood . We never found the time for the pond for fishing but felt at home . Youngest grandson ran through the patio screen door after the incident my grandson learned how to replace screen in a door !!...

'We really enjoyed staying here. The owner was very nice and answered all our questions. We loved being right on the river and we caught a lot of fish (bass and big catfish). We drove to Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Park and went hiking there. We couldn't wait to get back to the cabin after hiking to relax. All the furniture, beds and bedding were very comfortable. The cabin is nicely decorated, beautiful wood furnishings and taxidermy. We would definitely stay here again!'

'The inside of the property was as very small but clean and nice. The location wasn’t very pleasant view of neighborhood. No tv’s in bedrooms. Water smelled like rotten eggs and the sink in the bathroom ran dry slow. The view from the deck was amazing and the dock was great for fishing.'

'Unfortunately I woke up to a cancelation email mere hours before we left. At 1:30 the property manager sent me an email saying she canceled our stay and issued a full refund. After some questioning I was told that the previous tenant flooded the upstairs by leaving the bathtub on and the unit was uninhabitable. 'Our family (5 sisters) went on an intensive retreat with a coach at this house. It is a beautiful home. The owners were first time VRBO and offered a beautiful space for our healing. Due to their inexperience, they left the refrigerator full and dirty. It was the maid that ultimately did not complete the clean. Once we cleaned it out we were able to move 2+ days of food into the garage refrigerator and manage our meals and groceries well. The house shined more and more each day we stayed there....
