'It was fine'

'Unique and quiet oceanfront property. Several messages to manager not answered prior to reservation date. On-site workers helpful, but did not speak English. No office, self check-in. Several electrical outlets in the room did not work. Evidence of septic tank failure. The morning sprinkler water smelled like raw sewage. Didn't see any turtles nesting but caught some beautiful sunrises. I would stay again.'

After hours, I messaged that I needed batteries for the TV remote and within minutes, a lovely man came to my door with batteries in hand (turns out we did not need batteries...we unplugged the TV). Beds were very comfortable....

Look a little deeper and you see old, faded signs, broken pool/beach toys, rugs that are all mismatched, creaky furniture, loose handles, carpet stains, heavily used patio furniture. We were extremely grateful for their willingness to ensure we were satisfied with our room and in future would be more specific in our request. It was awesome that there were kayaks and paddleboards, but other guests didn't seem to respect the property by putting everything back on the racks. I feel like an extra charge to use the equipment might encourage people to treat it better.'

The advice: if you are use to most condo stays, you will be expecting a washer and dryer in the room. There were only enough towels for 2 days. It's no big deal to throw a load of towels in before you leave if the washer and dryer are in the room, but it takes...
