'I had the perfect stay at the Hawks House Inn. I throughly enjoyed sitting in the enclosed porch drinking my coffee while listening to the morning song birds. Steve is an excellent innkeeper. The inn is in an ideal location to explore mid coast Maine. '

'We were looking for kayak-friendly owners and property, and scored on both! Sweet spot in a protected cove, access to other coves, islands and river nearby, and open ocean 3 miles south. Easy launching from their dock and a dedicated float that allows easy in and out. Shannon and Gil are great hosts; they arranged lobster from son’s catch one day and cooked it for us! 'Bijzonder goed ontbijt'

'Had the good old field of what we always called a "camp." Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and glassware, etc. The lobster processing facility made for a bit of noise and a pretty steady stream of traffic. A lot of trucks, from pickups to semis coming in and out. Didn't really bother us a whole lot but it might bother other people. Overall the view of the water was pretty nice except for the power lines and there's not much that can be done about that. Have to have electricity after all.'

'I traveled solo and it was the perfect respite. Check in is simple, Pilot welcomes you with a wagging tail and gives the grand tour. Having left my own furry friend at home, I was happy for his company. Furnishings are more updated than the photos show. I can't imagine anyone needing anything more than what this cottage provides. Mind your head when you climb the spiral staircase. I was grateful for the bluetooth speaker in the living room. This was a perfect solo stay, I'd recommend for couples...

'This property is centrally located in Rockland and within walking distance to the harbor, dining, coffee, shopping, and more. We had a great harbor view from our room. And while Trade Winds is old and needs work (smells old and we had to air out our room every time we came back to it.), it's in the ideal location and we would definitely stay there again; just wish the price was a little less expensive. Customer service and communication was top notch and exceeded all expectations. '
