We hebben een prima verblijf gehad bij The Seven. De locatie is heel fijn en het personeel is vriendelijk. De kamer was prima, maar liet wel te wensen over qua hygiëne en netheid. Daarnaast was de temperatuur in het hotel niet te harden, het was zó heet. We moesten de airco op volle toeren laten draaien om het een beetje uit te kunnen houden op onze kamer. Al met al prima, maar niet een uitzonderlijk verblijf.

Very nice hotel on a very convenient location. Just outside the buzz of Southend pier and city center but in walking distance. Great views over the Thames estuary. The rooms are very well appointed. Great design. But unfortunately not all design is practical. The bathroom is really too small. Room 204 very large, but a tiny bed and an unworkable bathroom. This doesnt add up to comfort. I hope they have rooms with a normal size bathroom.

Had a lovely stay here for my boyfriend’s birthday. The hotel has a lot of curb appeal and the staff very friendly. Easy check in and easy to also find our room. We had a view over looking the carpark and the hotel were fully booked so no option to upgrade. The room had everything you needed, the bathroom was almost as big as the room itself! The only downside was the size of the towels were small, we are not large people either by any means. We sat outside in the beautiful weather and had a cocktail which was very nice and I can imagine to food is enjoyable however we did not eat here. I would definitely recommend and if we ever stayed again I would pay a little extra for a sea view room.

Quiet the Friday we stayed , good service ,ate in the restaurant dinner and breakfast both good , certainly tucked away albeit with a decent view overlooking the pier, (sea view room ) and tbh doesn't really feel like your in the brash of the seafront, will stay again

Received scam emails where someone had taken our details from the hotel and asked for card details, then kept receiving follow up emails but could not tell if these were also scams. One of the lifts were broken so it was a slow wait at times. On check in the first thing we noticed was the dirty cushion displayed in the middle of the bed with the fabric being all marked and pulled. There was also a stain on the duvet covers. The ‘sea view’ room was wildly different to the photograph advertised for that room type on Expedia, we had a view of cars parked outside, the roof below and the crumbling buildings that surrounded the hotel. There were only hand towels in the bathroom so we had to call to request towels that we could use for the shower. The inside of the bathroom door was filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned, it had lots of drip marks running down it. The room was so noisy, we could hear the lifts, showers and toilets in other rooms as well as noise from outside. None of this is was we would expect from the ‘luxury boutique’ hotel and photos advertised and would not book to stay again. Our room would have been cleaner if we were to stay at a budget chain hotel. I did send this complaint to the hotel along with photographs and they have ignored my email so I can only assume that they don’t care about their customers experience.

I've used the hotel several times for work in the past year and my company use this for staff staying in Southend. When you check in they ask for a swipe of a credit card. 6 weeks after my stay I was checking my credit card statement and noticed a £50 charge from Seven. I called them to query this I was told a coffee tray was missing after my stay and they charged me £50 and accused me of stealing it. How dare they, I never even touched the thing. I received no communication regarding the charge and now taking the matter further. Never stay at this hotel unless you want to be accused of being a thief.

Small changes to make and it would be awesome
Positives: Great staff and service. Negatives: Luxury room 404 was missing a sink plug cover, a star feature was broken off the bathroom mirror and there was no soap dish in the bathroom. Little things but they need sorting to warrant a 5 star review, especially when spending over £200 for a room. Also - the pillows are far too soft and give you a stiff neck. Still got mine and my wife’s back and neck hurts also. Will be back potentially.

We booked this hotel and paid £100 to stay the night, when we got there we showed them the confirmation of the booking and that we had paid it, then they said that it hadn’t come up on there system so we would have to pay for it again!! I’m absolutely disgusted in this as £100 has been taken out of mine and my partners bank and we were unable to stay there!! I do not recommend for anyone and will not be using this app again unless I get my refund I have put a further complaint in as this is classed as fraud!!!

A very relaxing atmosphere. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Service was first class. Arrived and started to park in public car park. Staff came to tell us were the hotel car park was located. We had drinks in the bar and asked about dinner. Order taken, and after a while went to find out when dinner would be served and was told we could arrive at anytime when it suited us. Total relaxation. Dinner was delicious, would certainly go back to for the hotel and restaurant. Rooms were well appointed and beds comfortable, slept well.

I have stayed in this hotel a few times now, I originally stayed in their basic rooms which are quite small, but OK if you are just there for one night. I booked a sea view room which was much larger and more comfortable room. I would advise anyone to book a sea view room.

Bitterly disappointed at dreadful service
The hotel was immaculate and the room was attractive and comfortable. The restaurant, Aurum, ruined our stay. We waited 30 minutes to even order drinks and had to chase up the order when it didn’t arrive. Drinks and starters arrived in dribs and drabs. I am vegan and one of the two vegan starter options was unavailable. I had mushroom risotto for my main which was underwhelming and I’ve made myself better risotto at home (I’m not a chef!). Similarly at breakfast time, we sat for 25 minutes before my husband placed our breakfast orders directly with the kitchen. Eventually a waiter took our drink orders. My husband’s drink arrived 15 minutes later and mine 25 minutes later (I’d only ordered a cup of tea!). Eventually our breakfasts arrived missing mushrooms (quite a main part of an English breakfast and listed on the menu). No one asked how our meal was so we didn’t get the opportunity to mention this until a waiter desperately tried to clear the table when my husband popped to the toilet. The waiter asked if we wanted the mushrooms but by that point we’d almost finished our breakfasts. The toast was I buttered and no butter provided and again, no opportunity to request this as there was only one waiter serving the restaurant and he was out of the room most of the time. The couple on the table next to us were discussing leaving to eat elsewhere as they were also left waiting as if they were invisible. Service charge is included in all bills.

What a little gem this was! Hotel was immaculate staff were very friendly and helpful, we had breakfast which also was very very good. Our room was also lovely overlooking the sea spotlessly clean we will definitely be returning.
