Upon arriving, the lobby floor was not very clean. This was not a great first impression. I had difficulty hearing the person who checked me in because of the noise from the restaurant. There was a very loud party going on. I thought perhaps it was a cocktail lounge. The person who checked me in was not particularly friendly or helpful. However, I have to say that the staff from that time on were very welcoming and accommodating. My room was huge and very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom did not have any lighting over the sink area. The only light was a pole lamp. I had to pull it closer to the sink to be able to see. The shower was very large. Unfortunately, there was no place to put soap, shampoo, or even a washcloth. The bathroom definitely needs hooks for hanging towels and clothing and shelves in the shower for soap and shampoos. I ate breakfast in the restaurant before checking out. I had the blueberry crepes and they were delicious. Other than the minor inconveniences, it was a very comfortable stay

They failed to mention they were doing renovations and the entire 2nd floor was closed. Staff was rude. Did it get room that was paid for. And still waiting on a callback from the manager.

The property is very clean despite renovations. The wonderful front desk attendant certainly made our departure phenomenal. We had issues with the TV and low water pressure but her customer service skills overcame the issues. The room is very sizeable, clean, and quiet.

They are doing construction on the entire 2nd floor. They start working at 8am. There is dust and dirt everywhere. My room was very large and the bed was comfy. The bathroom was awful. Only half finished. No place to hang a towel or to put a bar of soap. They only cleaned the room once in 7 days. We had to go to the front desk just to get an additional roll of toilet paper. After the construction is done the dust and nose will be better, but I'm not sure about the rest!!

Beautiful building. Newly renovated. Could use a shelf or table in the shower and some hooks on the wall. The balcony door was a little hard to open. The bed was comfortable and the room was big. No microwave as advertised. I was told at checkout that I could have asked for one. My fault for not asking. The beach was a close walk.

It’s a gorgeous place to stay! We were in a room that hasn’t been renovated yet, that was by my choice though, they are very accommodating. The pool area is so very nice, although I didn’t get a chance to use it, I seen people out there enjoying it. We spent most of our time at the beach, which seemed closer than 2 minutes away! I definitely know when I come back to St Augustine I’m staying at Castillo Real Resort Inn. They also have a dining room that I hope to use next time around.

We stayed a full week. Upon arrival, we requested housekeeping during our stay. On three of the days I had to request towels, as the room was not made up, my wife and I cleaned it up ourselves on two of the days. I believe the hotel was under staffed. The exception was those at the front desk, they were polite and understanding.

Nicely appointed but lacking a few items - no soap or soap dish in the shower, vanity light was absent or not working, no toilet paper holder. There was renovation going on (very quiet) and maybe they'll come back and install the missing things. Got a surprise parking fee of ~ $10.

Although they were under construction for renovations, the staff went out of their way to make sure we had the best experience possible. The front desk manager, I believe her name was Rhonda, checked us in and went above and beyond to make sure we liked our room option, had towels and even rounded up some beach chairs for us. I can’t wait to visit again after all the renovations are complete. This place will be a gem!

Castillo Real feels like being in Mexico! The location is great, the beach is close and wonderful restaurants very close by. I was disappointed that the work out area and the hot tub were closed ‘due to construction’ but the construction was going on somewhere completely different in the hotel. When everything is in working order, I know this hotel a gem!

When we arrived the toilet seat was completely broken off. The lamp which was the only light source in the bathroom was also broken. The next day we left early and returned to all of the water being completely out. While trying to sleep that night a giant cockroach walked into our room and we had to kill it.

They are renovating, But due to that the floors were dirty from the renovations and not fully cleaned. They removed all the hot tubs and claimed their website reflected it and it didn't. The shower was terrible.No pressure or hot water at all. If I knew what I knew I would have got a cheaper room and saved money or when elsewhere.
