Unreachable Host Travel Nightmare
The worst travel experience I’ve ever had. Owner failed to provide check-in instructions and was us responsive to both me and VRBO customer support all day, on our check-in day. Me and my friends spent hours trying to reach her and dealing with VRBO customer support. Nobody ever reached her and VRBO considered us “stranded travelers.” Only after finding another place to stay and VRBO escalating the booking for a refund, at 4 HOURS PAST CHECK-IN TIME did we get a response from the host, and she had the nerve to act like nothing was wrong and we were all set to go. Absolutely insane. I’ve been fighting to get a refund for the last 2 weeks (and host is once again unresponsive). 100% DON’T recommend this stay unless you want to be scammed out of your hard earned money! Also don’t be deceived by the photos—this is a rundown neighborhood of mostly older trailer homes and Sanford & Sons-esque yards, and this property’s backyard backs up to a neighbor’s yard NOT the lake. We didn’t get access inside but judging by the front porch furniture’s dirt & cobwebs and the 2-week old pest control notice on the door, this place doesn’t get the upkeep it requires.

Nice house quiet neighborhood
We had a nice stay. Everything was as depicted. I just wish it had been cleaner. Looked like the housekeeper needed to be reprimanded or replaced. Just not as clean as one would expect. There were molded dishes in the dishwasher. Microwave was nasty. Etc. Having to bag all of our trash and take to the dump was kind of dumb but it is what it is. Great area and neighborhood.

Perfect place
This is a great property. Quiet and safe neighborhood within walking distance of lake (one street over). Very clean property! Trash was a bit tricky (address didn’t take us to dump) but we just took it to a gas station and a restaurant that let us dump it there. Will be back for sure!!

This cozy house with friendly neighborhood offered the peace and quiet my group desired. The front porch was perfect for morning coffee. The décor was charming while at the same time oozing relaxation. There were plenty of kitchen cooking essentials to accommodate our party of four. Contrarily, they skimped on bathroom hand soap, and only supplied one kitchen trash bag. The trash disposal ordeal pushed us over the edge when we proceeded to the address provided only to find it’s deserted Camp Robinson. We called a name in the information guide who promptly called back with the address of a county waste facility, but it was 10 miles from the house. -- update your trash intel! By our standards, this is enough to justify a low rating.

The overall experience was great, the house was clean, and close to the water. The only conflict was with what to do with the garbage at the end of our trip. The property check in book had two different options, and the local dump didn't open until 2pm on Sunday, but check out was at 11. But other than that I would forsure stay there again, very nice property.

Cozy home away from home
This was my first time using VRBO and I was nervous. I was so pleasantly surprised that we added another day to our stay. Our kiddos had their own space and we had room to gather and spend time together in the living room. We traveled back and forth to Charleston each day so it was quite a drive but the house was so cozy we didn’t mind. It was comfortable and very nicely decorated. We even enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the rockers. I would love to come back a d check out more of the lake area. The property manager, Wendy, was easy to work with and promptly responded to any questions.

The property itself was nice well maaintained but I was expecting that being the 2d street off waterfront would be ok but nothing but scrub trees and marshes in front and back which was ok but not what i was expecting.

Excellent get away
This is a great house. Very secluded but is worth the drive. The house itself is lovely and comfortable, the decor is nice. I needed a gathering place for my large family after my mother's funeral service. This was perfect. It was very open and accomadating. If I have the need to stay in the Lake Marion area again, I will definitely pick this hideaway.

Full Moon Over Santee Lake Marion
Since I started Bass Fishing in 1981 , I have been to the area many times and so I knew what to expect. The house has been remodeled and is very clean. The NAUTICAL them throughout was cute and tasteful. My spouse and I agreed it was a value. I would recommend but it is a block away from the lake.

The house was nice and in good location, I gave it 3 stars on 2 things bc of the signal and wifi, if you are planning on coming to this house and need to use the phone in ANY way or computer then I don’t recommend this house, wifi said it was up and running but we couldn’t get anything to work and we had like maybe 10 channels at most to watch on tv, and those kept going in and out due to wifi. I contacted property manager abt this and she did her job and contacted owner. Owner said they were going to send someone out to check it and they never showed so I was a little disappointed in that. But if you don’t need your phone for calls, social media, emails Netflix etc then this is a nice house but if you are needing internet for those purposes then don’t go to this house. I couldn’t even call out to my wife

Very Nice House
Very cute, nice home in a quiet neighborhood. Out in the country, so it’s a little drive for any stores or restaurants. Clean, modern and well stocked. Taking the garbage out was a little bit of a hassle, as the dump that was listed was closed and locked up at 8:30 on a Monday morning.

Quiet and safe
This house had everything we needed, even a garage for securing the car. I cooked most of our meals. We used it as a base to explore trails in state, county, and city parks and the refuge. Our evening walks around the neighborhood were very pleasant. It is a bit remote and we had to plan our excursions around where we could get groceries or sandwiches, something we are used to doing anyway.

Fishing Trip!!!
The House was very nice, but if you want to go fishing you have to travel about 20-30 minutes. They have different locations, but you have to travel to them all. Would rent this house again for some quite time.

Lovely Home
First of all the home itself is beautifully updated and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds and nice furniture. We had an issue with the hot water and there was no way to contact anyone in case of emergency. Usually the owners leave a manual with emergency numbers to call and the WiFi password and local restaurants and shopping etc. We had no cell phone service there and finally got an email WiFi password on the 3 rd day. The owner did fix the hot water issue once we finally got in touch with them. You cannot see the lake from the property at all. So pictures of the nearby lake are deceiving. It is not lakefront property. If you truly want to get away from it all this is the place for you!! I think for the price more than one roll of toilet tissue and maybe some Kleenex and hand soap could be provided. Be prepared to bring your own!! I would definitely stay in the house again if it were in a better area!

Beautiful Stay
I was surprised how very comfortable this house is, although may seem small from the outside, inside has big open concept kitchen/living/dining area. Decorated exquisitely, very clean and everything you need. Kitchen very well equipped, I have a diabetic type 1 daughter, found measuring cups and spoons (which I had forgotten). Stayed with 4 teenagers and they loved the place and area, taking late afternoon strolls. Internet access was pretty good, kids synced TV with laptop had had many fun movie nights. Really felt like a home away from home. Sarah was super nice and friendly, quickly answering any questions we had. Highly recommend.
