Ricketts Glen Stay
First time in a real B&B and it was wonderful. We were pleasantly greeted by our host and she showed us our room and explained to us, what to expect during our stay. Clay was very knowledgeable about the area, pointing out places to eat and how to reach all the hiking trails. She was a very good conversationalist. We had wonderful conversations about our lives, family and friends. We spent most of our time hiking, sight-seeing all the waterfalls, covered bridges and all the beautiful creations of God. After a long day of hiking, we knew there would be a comfortable bed waiting for us and a delicious breakfast in the morning. We stayed (3) nights. Our stay was a very relaxing. A much needed time to clear our minds. We found all the people, either on the trails, in the restaurants and especially our host to be very friendly.

Cottage in the Woods is a gem
Staying at the Cottage in the Woods was wonderful. It was a nice retreat after hiking the Glen. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, the property was inviting, the room was super cozy, and breakfast was delicious. We would stay there again!

Weekend retreat
The whole w perience was great, from the accommodations to the hosts. The hosts were amazing and we have never seen anyone go above and beyond as this couple did. Not only to us but their other guests. Breakfasts were great and they always had a fire ready for us to light in the outdoor fireplace to sit and u wind at night with their house cat coming to sit on our lap. Great place to go if you are looking for a quiet weekend and enjoy a little of hiking.

Absolutely beautiful vacation for us! We would definitely love to return! The ambiance was peaceful, we slept restfully and the breakfast was delicious. It was close to the Rickets Glen hiking trail head which was a plus! Wonderful!!

Charming property and super nice hosts!
The property was gorgeous and cozy with lots of indoor and outdoor space. I got a great dinner recommendation from Claytonna and the breakfast she cooked was delicious! She was also super accommodating when I wanted to stay a couple extra hours and hang out outside my room after checkout. Located super close to the Rickett’s Glen trails, so driving over and hiking was very easy.

Hosts are friendly and personable. The property is a rare combination of rustic and beautiful. The porch is a wonderful place to watch hummingbirds and relax after a hike. We’ve stayed twice and will return—a true “get away”!

Great place to stay...we will be back.
The owner Clayton's was great...friendly...accomodating...welcoming. We stayed in the Humingbird suite which was fabulos...cozy, clean, and big. The bathroom is gigantic. Breakfast was great...eggs, bacon...pumpkin pancakes...French toast. Table and rocking chairs on a covered porch....very relaxing. Very close to Rickets Glen state park. I would highly recommend this place. We will be back.

Wonderful !
Claytonna and Dave were the perfect hosts during our stay at Cottage in the Woods Bed and Breakfast. The room was charming, comfortable, and immaculately clean. The large bathroom housed a claw-foot tub which was such a relaxing treat to soak in after a day of hiking at the nearby Ricketts Glen State Park. Claytonna, in addition to being an excellent cook, has the home and property decorated beautifully. I have to mention, Lexie, the sweetest, four-legged welcoming committee who you can’t help but fall in love with. Our stay was absolutely delightful from start to finish. When we return to this area, we would not think of staying any where else.

Wonderful weekend
The host and hostess were so friendly and made us feel comfortable being there. Breakfast were always very tasty and more than we could eat. If we ever travel back to Sweet Valley it will be our choice for a VRBO.

This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the area’s beauty and recreational activities. We hiked the nearby Ricketts Glen State Park trails and then relaxed on the large covered deck and enjoyed the beautiful yard with many flowers and plants. The owners were very friendly and helpful with suggestions on what to do and where to dine. They prepared a wonderful breakfast based and asked for our preferences on food and time. We highly recommend this B&an.

Claytonna and Dave were perfect hosts. The Butterfly Suite at their home was perfect (as advertised). We arrived around 7:30pm on Friday night and the process of moving into our room was seem less. I was messaged about breakfast on Saturday morning and again, perfect. From the moment we arrived we were at ease. Breakfast daily and casual fireside chats nightly. Claytonna made it even more special by adding a little something more for my girlfriend on her birthday. Thank you to the most gracious hosts. You will be highly recommended. Ray Gendron

A magical getaway!
Even better than the description and pictures suggest! Claytonna and Dave are the perfect hosts and the Cottage in the Woods is an apt name for this piece of paradise. My room was spacious and beautifully decorated; the bathroom included a glorious soaker tub which was an exquisite luxury after a long hike. The outside area includes a wrap around porch, spacious patio, and inviting fireplace overlooking a sprawling grass area surrounded by trees. The hosts encourage guests to make themselves at home and it is very easy to do in this lovely home. The home-cooked breakfasts are delicious and the perfect way to fuel you through the Falls Hike at nearby Rickett's Glen. I cannot say enough about these people and this special place. I will definitely be back again and again!

Loved the tub! The little pup was adorable as well. It was close to a dollar general for snacks and close for hiking as well. Me n a friend stopped here for a mid way break of driving to hoboken, NJ.
