Slamming of doors, missing shower shelves, burnt out light bulbs, heat lamp in bathroom would not stay on, face cloth and towels were like rough grit sandpaper, potholes in parking lot, continental breakfast is a joke, nighttime clerk stated that she needed a deposit for a online booking and that it would be returned immediately upon check out, then daytime clerk stated that it would be 3-5 days, nighttime clerk said no deposit would be needed if I had just walked in? So penalize me for booking online but to just take a chance and walk in and no deposit is necessary?! per single night is gouging when other "better" places I've stayed are per night single. I feel totally ripped off and I want a refund!!!

Regarding deposit it’s hotel policy for incidentals. Heat lamps on timers as well.sorry sir we can not give you a refund for parking lot and back side door which is so far away from rooms. If you want a solid basic stay w/out spending $$$
If you have tried to get a hotel near Traverse City in any time except the dead of winter you know that the prices for hotels are bananas. I was drawn in by a very reasonable price for a weekend stay but I worried that it would be a stone cold dump. When we arrived we were pretty sure we were getting a dump. The parking lot/exterior/lobby is a bit rough. The room however, was pretty good. Comfortable and spacious. Had all the items that you wanted. We didnt use the pool but the indoor pool area looked nice when we passed it. All we wanted was a comfortable nights sleep and we got it. If youre looking for more amenities then this isnt the spot

Good place to crash, no hot tub
Beds were comfortable. Good location. No hot tub, pool opens at 3pm daily. Older hotel with no elevator.

The hot tub was too cold to use. Lighting in the room didn’t always work. Shower curtain was so short that water went all over the floor when showering Breakfast was mostly cold cereal and packaged pastry. Orange juice had a bad taste. Very over priced.

Old run down place that is trying to upgrade. No toilet paper holder, toilet seat would not stay up, no shelves in the shower for soap, phone was dirty and old, smoke detector was old and yellowed, not sure if it worked, mattress was uncomfortable and noisy, dirty continental breakfast bar with coffee maker broken, lack of employees. Not what I expected from a Choice Hotel.

We have no complaints about the staff; they were always friendly and helpful. The building and our room need upgrading. The carpet on the stairs and in the hallways is a very ugly pattern, is dirty and has a smell. The room we were in lacked features normally found in motels. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. It has really a garish, unpleasing pattern on the shower walls, and the apparent leaks on the shower floor were poorly patched. The lighting over the mirror was insufficient to do makeup or groom hair. The bed sheets are cheap and thin, and the elastic corners wouldn’t stay tucked in. There were white spots on the bedspread; who knows what that is. The complementary breakfast was lacking. All there was to eat was dry cereal, and pre-packaged sweet rolls, coffee and tea, no waffles, no fruit, no way to make toast. We had to eat breakfast out at a restaurant.

Better then I expected
I was worried when we booked it. But no bugs in our room or on our mattress. Sheets were clean. Air conditioner worked great! The sink had a leak but overall looked like they have been working on fixing things. The staff was nice. Even being on the first floor right by the receptionist it wasn’t too loud. The breakfast was okay. There was no staff at check out which was odd to me, but it did say they were short staffed.

There is no one at the counter until a certain time. I guess you can call them though. The floor in our room had no carpet which is great except the maid forgot to vacuum it - dirt or sand on my bare feet. Not a great property, but you get what you pay for.

If desperate, it will do
If you are looking for the type of accommodations that provide a hair dryer in the bathroom, this place is not it. If you only need a place to lay your head, it probably won’t hurt you for a night or two. The sheets and pillows appeared clean. The towels looked 20 years old- thin, worn, and not at white as they once were. The window did not close all the way creating a safety concern. It looks like they replace things only when absolutely necessary. The shower walls looked newer, and there was an updated mirror in the bathroom. However the shower floor was old and did not match. The walls had holes from remodeling, that were never patched or painted. The door jams in the bathroom and bedroom of the “suite” were splintered and glued back together. The night clerk was very friendly. The day clerk spent her time smoking in a lawn chair outside.

The faucet handle in the shower was reversed. the blue setting produced hot water and the red produced cold water. very difficult to get a hot water setting with the narrow range of hot water settings. The toilet seat was not secured on the toilet. It shifted from side to side when you sat on it. I had to finger tighten the nut on the bolt that secured the seat. Construction crew that roomed on the floor above us was very noisy. House keeping did not put fresh towels in the room after we specifically asked for them. Had to make a trip to the front desk for towels. Ran out of toilet paper and had to make a trip to the front desk to get some

One of the worst hotels/motels. I paid around $200 per night. The place looks really bad from outside, when we pulled up, my daughter started to cry. Our room was not cleaned properly. Toilet was dirty, a shelf with safe fell on me and my son got pink eye. Front desk lady was nice, so that was one good thing about this place, but basically it was really bad for that kind of money. I will never stay at this place again and tell everyone to avoid this place.

This Econo Lodge was the absolute worst motel I have ever experienced. The exit door was broken, the window in our room was broken, both with signs saying so. There was no bar or hangers to hang clothes, the bathroom was dirty, the hall light didn't work and the woman at the desk was unfriendly.

You can't make this **** up!
The staff was very nice. The property itself was not up to par. The fan in the bathroom didn't work. When we came in after being outside we found the TV had fallen OFF the wall! The swimming pool and hot tub were nice but there were no working lights in the entire room. We had to leave when it got dark. Also the entrance door nearest to our room was broken and we had to walk to the other end to get in.

Hi , thank you for your feedback on you stay. We just renovate the property and we do not need fan anymore in bathroom. Since we have heating buttons on mirror. We try to make little bit nicer and that why lights and fans we do not need it because it’s available on led mirrors by itself. Thank you. We will try our best resolve it.

There were roaches in the rooms and the manager did nothing. The manager also lives in a small room behind the desk so the whole lobby smells like burnt cooking and her children are running around dirty and smelly. The manager also said the roaches weren’t that big of a deal and their rooms smell like smoke and the showers are dirty. The hot tub is barely warm and the pool is gross. All the rooms need major updates and the bathe rooms have tacky marble wallpaper. The manager needs to be locked up

Thank you for staying with us. Medam u stay all night and until check out just because of hire rate u just trying to get your money back. You were coming behind the front desk and aggressively knocking a door three times. Once u reside to stay we can not do anything. Find little bug or roches u we’re holding that until checkout time to get refund. U never reach out at frontdesk and ask for any kind of help until u turning key at check out time. Sorry in that case we can’t do anything. Thank you. We have every 10 days pest control. We are take care of properly our property. Guest kids running paying its not in our hand they are here for vacation. We can just request it. I been working more then 24 hours and taking rest in my office on my off duties time it’s shouldn’t be your business. Y should also not knock my office door plus u come behind desk. Thank you

I have been in some motels in the third world countries, but this was by far the worst one!!!! Besides that everything is outdated, the main problem was that everything was filthy dirty, I went and bought the bedsheets and pillow covers, the floor was so sticky, so i used one of the towels to clean it, a white towel became brown in 2 min. Bathroom was dirty, and there was hair all over the tiles. Don’t stay there! This motel shouldn’t even be operating!

I needed a place close to a wedding venue. The price I paid for one night was excessive. The mattress n pillows were lumpy. The heating/cooling unit was loud. The bathroom mirror was not very bright. There was no clerk at the desk at 730am just a number to call.
