Be aware that the windows don't close properly (or at all), there is a lot of noise during the night, properly critters. This unit is above someone and the neighbors are quite close. Very nice ferry driver! If you are into a glamping experience, it is worth it, but the price should reflect this.'

'This is a perfect getaway! The setting is absolutely serene and stunning. The cottage is nestled on a rock overlooking the lake, and is very private. A winding and scenic path takes you down to a sandy beach, in a beautiful little cove. The cottage itself is well supplied and very comfortable! It has a rustic charm to it. The large screened in porch was a great place to spend time as a family. This was an actually very relaxing vacation!'

'We stayed at the”Blackhaus” January 19-23. The house was perfect for our 3 teenage boys and my wife and I. It is a bit off the road which offers serenity and peace. The house is well appointed and met all of our needs. It is located just about 8 minutes from whiteface ski resort and about 22 minutes to lake placid. I Will definitely stay here again. '

'Great location! Very helpful and friendly island staff! Wonderful screened-in front porch overlooking the lake. Nice beach with access to different water crafts. As the listing indicates, there is no A/C (and also no ceiling fans) - the property manager did bring in box fans after we asked. The house is older but clean. It doesn’t have a lot of the usual amenities and wasn’t as comfortable as other places we’ve been, but our family had fun.'
