Staff are pleasant and our room was much nicer than I’d expected. When booking the king / queen you essentially get two adjoining rooms. The only downside is a train runs nearby and often. Staff provide earplugs.

Charming but no sleep!
Geplaatst op 21 jan. 2024 op HotelsI love vintage buildings, and this place had charm. The owner was nice. The amenities are not what you expect at a hotel these days.
They should not have people staying in the hotel when they have a wedding booked. Earplugs were provided for ‘the outside noise, as trains are close by’. The inside noise was worse! With earplugs in, you could hear the people repeatedly coming upstairs, using the stairwell. ( We were on the 3rd floor.) The elevator is very loud also, and with the frequent traffic the noise the elevator makes when it announces a stop was loud enough to hear ( repeatedly) with earplugs in! The acoustics in the building are not conducive for sleeping with people coming back and forth to their rooms. I think we could hear the floors below us as well? There was so much activity. I was excited to like and enjoy my stay at this charming old place, but ended up cranky and tired, and not enjoying it.

We also hope that you enjoyed the free upgrade that we gave you to our Family Room so that you and your kids could have even more space to relax and watch TV. We are absolutely horrified to hear that you had a negative stay in your suite! As a small family business our very survival rises and falls on the reviews and positive experiences of our guests. To that end we let every group know in their confirmation email that they have rented a night when we are going to have a wedding in our Grand Ballroom and ask them if they are alright with celebratory noise that evening. The wedding the evening of your stay was over at 6 pm and then the entire event left the building for their off site reception. All we can think of is that the noise you heard must have been wedding guests coming back to their rooms late Saturday night? If you are able to stay with us again please feel free to call us at the after hours phone number we provide guests when they check in so we can address any noise concerns immediately! We are so sorry you left cranky and tired and we hope to have a chance in the future to provide you with the enjoyable stay you were expecting and which is the usual experience for our guests!!

Amazing boutique hotel experience!
