Broken toilet and smells

I stayed for 3 nights for a business trip. The first night when I arrived a room, the room smells, especially the toilet. I had to close the door to avoid the smell came out and the toilet was not working. The second day I request to change the room in the morning but the reception ask if I could come back at noon time. I told them I need to use the toilet in the morning so that they changed the room. The room was alright afterward. The experience was disappointing.

Great Hotel

the hotel itself was wonderful, especially for the price and location to Daming Lake. The only problem I had was some confusion with my reservations and payment for my room. I paid through Expedia, but at checkout the concierge told me that I had not paid. I had to access my bank account to prove that I had made a payment through Expedia. I am not sure if this was a problem on the side of the hotel or Expedia.
