Large hotel but very dated

Locatie: The city center is within walking distance. Nice waterfront walk past a bronze statue of 'The Fonz', several nice bars and breweries.
Our room was not all that big. The walls were very thin, we could hear a couple arguing in the next room. Luckily their voices were drowned out by a very noisy AC-unit. The Astor is a large hotel. The hallways and rooms could do with an update. Cleanliness was fine, desk staff friendly. The lobby and front entrance were partly closed off due to renovations.

Great stay - need to be able to turn heat down, but all-in-all a great place to stay.

Catch a cab!

I get there and there is absolutely not one parking space available... so I couldn’t stay, and lost my money for the room! No one answered the phone when I called to inquire about the parking situation either!

Not worth the price but OK

This was an older building and times have changed. Some of it was highly nostalgic, some just plain outdated. The life noises of residents of the hotel give the atmosphere a little something different that is not different from other stays. The bed and bedding was cozy and clean, as well as the carpets and surfaces. Not many channels on the TV- only local. It is autumn, and there is no independent thermostat so I was very glad i read other reviews and brought a space heater along. The hotel is in a busy area so parking is a challenge. There is a lot on the grounds but lodgers are required to pay AN ADDITIONAL $10.00 just to park on it. Takes the value away for the stay. Was trying to concentrate on the positive but this broke the camel's back. Won't go again....
