Good location, run down property, poor security

The hotel was under extensive renovation while we were there, which meant outdoor construction crews started work outside our first floor window at 9 am. That was expected when I booked, and not a problem. The location was great - walking distance to restaurants and attractions, a few minutes drive from the theme parks.
The most concerning thing about our stay was the lack of security. There were several cars circling the parking lot of this and adjacent hotels around midnight, with people stopping and holding surreptitious conversations. The "security door" to the building we were in remained stuck open for most of the night. So there was essentially zero security. I saw a security guard once over the course of two days/nights.
The room was clean, but run down. The bathroom fixtures were loose and wobbly. The shower was weak, and the water was cold. There were patches of carpet missing, and the molding and trim were coming loose around the edges.
We stayed there for two days and did not use any amenities, so I can't comment on those. The location was good, and the staff was friendly at check-in and check-out. I got a very good deal on the price of this hotel, but would not pay full price, and am not likely to stay there again.
