The hotel is absolutely beautiful and in an amazing area. Close to everything. Would stay here again for the hotel space.
However, we stayed over the new year and had two bad experiences with the restaurant. Not sure if it was because it was the new year or if it’s always this way.
Arrived New Year’s Eve after a long day of travel with a hungry child needing something to eat before we went out for the evening. We were told we couldn’t be seated in the restaurant because they were preparing for the evening which started at 7pm.
We were offered a small selection of tapas which was fine. However we ordered two of champagne and were told they weren’t opening bottles until the evening. We were offered already open bottles of white and red wine.
Breakfast at the restaurant was great.
Unfortunately that evening we wanted a glass of wine in the room after a day of sightseeing. At the bar we were told all the had was beer. No wine or cocktails were being served
Not very good service at all for a 5 star hotel which we had paid nearly €1000 a night to be at.
I understand it was a holiday but a hotel is a home away from home and people need food and service regardless of if it’s a holiday or not.
