'Such a great location. Close to everything and quiet which was exactly what we were looking for! Host was wonderfully accommodating which we really appreciated! Only very very minor complaints were the water didn’t get hot enough to utilize the bath, (I like scalding hot baths!) and the internet was in and out a bit. Everything else was amazing! 'We enjoyed the location tremendously; and, staying on the boat added a charming ambiance to our Amsterdam experience. On the other hand, it is very tattered, dated, rickety and an electrical nightmare. Extension cords and hidden switches everywhere and very dimly lit. Floors covered with throw rugs that all overlap; the walls and ceilings covered with fabric that has been stapled on. And, used toilet paper cannot be flushed down the toilet. 'Wir hatten zwei tolle Tage auf dem schönen Hausboot! Es ist wirklich der reine Luxus dort. Wenn man reinkommt, ist es zwar sehr heiß, aber da man alles aufmachen kann, kühlt es auch schnell ab. Der Preis ist allerdings trotzdem sehr hoch. Der Check in ist relativ spät, das Check in Fenster zwischen 16:00 Uhr und 18:00 Uhr. Eher kurz. Dafür muss man dann um 10:00 Uhr morgens schon wieder draußen sein, das finde ich etwas knapp. Man muss auch alles ordentlich und sauber hinterlassen, es wird...

'We had a great longer weekend near Amsterdam. The owner were very friendly and helpful for the start of our staying. The houseboat is perfectly equipped for a couple and very comfortable. With the two bicycles, part of the houseboat, it was very easy to reach city centre'

'Ein schönes und gepflegtes Hausboot mit schöner Lage. Alles im allen war es ein schöne Erfahrung auf dem Hausboot, leider muss ich eine negative Sache anmerken. Leider hat bei uns der Mülleimer sehr starke nach Aschenbecher gestunken, dieser Geruch hat sich leider Tage gehalten. Zumindest immer dann wenn man die Schublade zur Mülltonne öffnete. Das war leider sehr unangenehm. Wenn es diese Sache nicht gegeben hätte, hätte ich auch für die Sauberkeit 5 Sterne gegeben. Ein zusätzlicher...

'Beds were comfortable and clean. Each room had a shower with a separate toilet. Kitchen was well stocked. Heads up that there’s no soap or shampoo in the showers.'

'This houseboat is not fancy - but it is as comfortable as being at a friend's cabin - we didn't want to leave. 'Het is bijzonder om in zo’n boot te slapen, maar bij warm weer niet te doen. Je kan helaas de ramen niet open maken om te ventileren, omdat de muggen naar binnen komen. Het zou fijn zijn als er een manier is om een hor te plaatsen, bijvoorbeeld bij de opening op het dak of zo mogelijk bij een raam?'

'The houseboat meets or exceeds expectations from photos and descriptions. It is very well appointed with great amenities and in a great location. Robertino, the host, is very communicative and welcoming, and also a great source for recommendations in the area. We have stayed in Amsterdam before but have never experienced it like this and would highly recommend. It is a destination in itself.'

'Süßes kleines Hausboot - wir waren zu dritt dort - mehr wäre dann evtl. anstrengend. Die Beschreibung und Ankunft war perfekt beschrieben, so dass wir gleich die Schlüssel gefunden haben. Der Ort Monnickendam ist sehr süß und wir haben in einem abgesperrten Hafenbereich gelegen, von da aus konnte man alles zu Fuß erreichen. Die Bushaltestelle ist fast vor der Haustür (an der Hauptstraße) und ein Bus fährt alle 6 Minuten nach Amsterdam Centraal - die Fahrt dauert ca. 20 Minuten.'
