Onze kamer was erg klein en er was nauwelijks plaats voor onze koffer. Jammer dat er geen ontbijtfaciliteiten of samenwerking met een restaurant voor een ontbijt is. Personeel kan iets sneller inspelen als je alleen je koffer wilt ophalen, terwijl een medewerkster met het inchecken van 4 personen bezig was.

Het Acostar hotel is een klein hotel zonder poespas. Geen ontbijt, kleine kamers, geen lift, geen airco. Wel een automaat met drinken en snacks, schone kamers met prima douche, goed geïsoleerd, weinig straatgeluid en vriendelijk personeel. Voor wie alleen een comfortabele plek nodig heeft, is dit hotel pal aan het Leidseplein, prima geschikt

Personeel was vriendelijk, 24 uurs receptie en de mogelijkheid je koffers te laten bewaren na uitchecken. Hotel is net maar helaas geen lift. De kamer was erg klein (maar daar is de prijs ook naar) en in de badkamer had schoner gemogen (vieze afzuiging, foundation en tandpasta aan de muur).

Top locatie. Hotel is aardig.
Het hotel is prima. Oud herenhuis. Verblijf hier vaker. De locatie is perfect. Kop koffie is gratis. Ontbijt zit er helaas niet (meer) in. Accomodatie is basic. Twee minuten van het Leidse plein. De voorkant zit alleen aan een uitgaansstraat. Je bent het beste af met een kamer aan de achterzijde.

Keurig hotel in hartje Amsterdam
Op steenworpafstand van het Leidseplein is dit hotel prima geschikt voor één of twee overnachtingen. We hadden een kleine kamer met een prima douche en toilet en als je alleen maar een bed nodig hebt, is dit hotel uitstekend geschikt. We hebben niet ontbeten. Zoals gezegd het Leidseplein is dichtbij. We hebben geen geluidsoverlast gehad ook al zit je in hartje Centrum. Er is geen lift en het oogt een beetje "versleten", maar het is er schoon en het personeel is vriendelijk en spreekt goed Nederlands.

Not like advertised
The room was smaller that the one i have reserved and paper walls, you could hear every little thing from the next room. The road in front of the hotel was under work so you hear every noise. We leave the hotel right after even knowing i won't have a refund for my two nights.

Our stay in Amsterdam only lasted three nights but it was a memorable experience for bad reasons. During our stay, the temperature in Amsterdam was consistently 30° at a high, our room was at the 4th floor with no air conditioning and facing the afternoon sun. Our room became an oven in the night time that we had no choice but to stay in. If not for a hard-working fan in the corner of the room we couldn't have stayed there without risking heat stroke. On top of that, there was no elevator which is mentioned no where on their Expedia page. We paid about $600nzd (~€300) for a twin room which was more cramped than a shoebox, and not at all what we expected from the photos on Expedia. The staff were lovely and helpful, and the location was very good. But if you're coming to Amsterdam in the summer or the early autumn stay away, it's dangerously hot.

This is a very solid hotel. Front desk staff is extremely helpful. Cleaning staff likes to clean every day. It's an old building, it makes sense. Wifi is good. Bring your own towel. Bring Flip Flops. The location is excellent. Food everywhere. Tram. Museums. Sheets are worn but clean.

Stay there after knowing the facts !
Hotel location is ok where it is close to shops and restaurants. However, the hotel is not having an elevator which very bad when you are given a room in the third floor, so imagine dragging your luggage all the way up. Also, in the details written in hotels it is mentioned that they are having safes available in the room, which is not true at all. If your visit is in Summer, stay away as there is no air conditioning and windows are not designed in a good way to provide proper ventilation.

The hotel is centrally located and near to tram stops, though the convenience implies that sometimes you may have to bear the nosie outside. There is no lift in the hotel, so the climb may be a bit tough if your room is on the top floor. Free coffee at the reception in the morning is a bonus. In the room, the furnishings are basic and a bit old-fashioned but usable. The black certains cannot be fully closed and light leaks in. The shower area in the bathroom is spacious and the water pressure is excellent, but it would be nicer if there is a door to prevent the water from splashing out. I did encounter a couple of issues in my room, and the staff have eventually fixed them for me.

Very friendly staff, rooms were clean and the location was great. It's a shame there are no coffee making facilities in the room. There is a coffee machine in the reception area which can be used between 7am and midday but as we were on the 4th floor with no lift, it's not very convenient. Would have been nice to be able to get a coffee in the evenings as well. Our room at the front of the hotel was a bit noisy in the evenings as there is a pub and a restaurant below but the noise didn't continue after midnight.

Great property, right next to a coffee shop and right in the centre of dam square. We was soo close to everything. Staff was lovely even after I had an accident in reception with a hot chocolate which went everywhere. Only issues was we was on the fourth floor and there is no lift but it wasn’t too bad for us. Many thanks to the staff at Acostar hotel.

Great for a low cost stay, clean, great location
Perfect for a cheaper stay, where the room Is just a base for sleeping n getting ready etc. staff are super lovely and helpful, bed was comfy enough and bathroom was lovely. Little bit of noise but expected with the great location - very central. Coffee shop next door. really good location and nice area. TV was weirdly super high up the wall compared to bed haha. Would’ve been nice to have a kettle to make tea/coffee

I was apprehensive of Acostar after reading precious reviews however I’m glad to say I was absolutely blown away by the hotel. Staff were lovely and accommodating, room and bed was clean and comfy. Extremely central and had no issue with walking to wherever we wanted to go - only using the tram to get to and from the airport. Our room was on the 5th floor and was beautiful and bright with skylights. Bath room and shower was also lovely. Overall, very happy with my experience!
