'A really charming and quirky house, perched on an overlook above a bend in the James river. Very friendly host, nice grounds, and plenty to explore in the surroundings. We did some outdoor grilling and a fire in the pit on a very starry night. The kids were disappointed that the hottub wasn't working that weekend, but there were plenty of games and some swings nearby to keep them occupied.'

'This house is really nice and a perfect spot for 2 adult couples. Bedrooms with their own bathrooms on either side of the cabin, a beautiful overlook balcony of the river, and huge windows everywhere to take in the scenery. The owner was really nice and easy to communicate with via text and gave helpful instructions to find the place. It is far off the main road so I suggest traveling in an SUV or a car well off of the ground. My only star taken was for the accuracy of the listing as it says...

'Such a lovely and cozy house. We were in town to visit our college student and this housed all of us perfectly! The kitchen is fully stocked making meal preparation easy. With 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, there was room for everybody. The beds were all comfortable and the reclining sofas & chair were relaxing after a day of hiking! Plenty of good movies on hand (or bring your own) plus enough channels available if you’re in the mood for some tv watching! Board games & cards are also on hand....

'Would highly recommend. The cabin is cozy on the inside with a peaceful backyard with deck and a firepit with wood pile. Very much enjoyed the location and during the daytime we explored the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway. The Appalachian Trail is a quarter of a mile away with a car park for a day hike. Thanks!'

'Our family stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday, and we had a wonderful time! The house is so well stocked and every detail has been thought out. great road hotel, will stay again.
"Good location for travelling, even close enough to drive downtown Staunton. Hotel grounds very neat and good parking, first impression inside very clean and open and very friendly staff. Room was spacious and quite clean, bathroom needs some professional plumber do the caulking and removal of mold, though generally clean. Breakfast was quite varied, with as well choices for a healthy breakfast, though also very sugar loaded choices. Service at breakfast was perfect, the ladies kept all super clean and tidy!! Environmentally the breakfast was horrible, only Styrofoam, even melting plates under my toasted bagel, coffee cups melting, cutlery just unusable - please change to paper (recyclables)!? didn't use the gym or pool, but gym looked light and spacious. would stay again!"
