'We were greeted by the owner…she very graciously showed us around the hotel and gave us a room with a view of the New River. She was very welcoming. The 1902 building has been beautifully restored. The room was great…as a side note, she told us that they would be opening a steakhouse in town in a couple of weeks. The space worked very well for us as a couple. Note that they have rooms and dining options available for scheduling an event for friends and family.'

'I can't say enough about our stay. They literally though of everything possible that one could need plus some. As soon as you walk in, it just feels like home. Kathie left fresh Pumpkin muffins on the table for us upon arrival. The property in itself is breathtaking. We spent hours on the porch off of the living room. 'This house is situated in a gorgeous riverfront setting with a large deck that wraps around 2 sides of the house. 'It was amazing. If you are looking for a place with scenic views look no further! Absolutely stunning to walk around the deck and enjoy the blue ridge mountains. However, I would HIGHLY recommend a 4WD. Don’t make the mistake we made and think “oh well, I am a good driver it shouldn’t be an issue”… chances of someone getting up the last few hundred feet with a fully loaded front wheel drive are very slim!! 'Loved everything about this wilderness retreat. From the adventurous drive up the ridge to the stunning and clean place and then walking the one mile trail through the woods around the house. We saw a baby fawn and lots of blooming mountain laurels. Then we relaxed in the hammock and after that watched the sunset from the swing.
