'The house is very charming and comfortable. My sisters and I stayed for our annual sisters' weekend. We could not have been happier. Very quiet, such a nice change from all the noise of a city. The owner is super nice and very easy to work with. Highly recommend this property if you are looking for a peaceful, quite weekend. We will definitely rent this wonderful home again.'

'We all had a great time ; especially our granddaughters. James and Marty are excellent hosts. They took the time introduce all the animals to our granddaughters including the goats, chickens, turkey, rabbits and peacocks. The girls got to hold and feed a baby peacock. The accommodations were perfect for us. Thanks for the goat milk for Susan’s coffee. We highly recommend staying at the Byrd’s Nest.'

'This host and property are amazing ! The house is beautiful inside . Hosts have everything you need to make a family feel welcome. Lots of towels , soap, shampoo , dishes to cook great meals . 'Group of us doing the local Texas River Marathon canoe race. This place is located in the middle of where we wanted to paddle. Four bedrooms with 1 bath took a little shuffling with 7 folks getting ready in the morning. Daughter works with horses at a boarding ranch at home. So she was a happy girl here. Nice and quite with plenty of room.'

'The property was beautiful and the houses were all very clean and comfortable to stay in! Everyone loved it ranging from ages 12 all the way up to 75 and all ages in between. We will definitely be back. On top of loving the property, the owners are amazing. My parents had tire trouble and had to stay at house past check out time on Sunday and they accommodated them to stay a few hours no problem… which was above and beyond and really helped my parents in such a stressful situation.'

'This little cabin is absolutely perfect for people trying to get away for the weekend. The beds were the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in while staying at an rental for that matter. The owner was very friendly and even mowed the grass before we got there. Beautiful views of the pastures and cattle right outside the windows. Everything was spotless and very cute for a country side cabin. Would 10/10 recommend and stay again'

'The house was exactly as pictured and excellent for the stay. The outdoor space was lovely for our wedding and everyone thought it was a great location/venue. Prior to the weekend communication was excellent but when it came time to actually being there, communication went downhill. A wedding can be high stress so having that happen was frustrating; however, the owner did get someone to come mow the outdoor event space on the day of the event and it gave us just enough time to finish decorating....

'This beautiful house was perfectly designed to entertain people with many interests. There was something to do for everyone from swimming in the pool, hanging out in the river, cooking, playing pool in the game room, relaxing with a book in the beautiful house, or taking a nap in the comfy beds. We hope to be back, soon!'

'Really enjoyed are stay! great place and close to Smithville. Did a lot of driving and spent the night at the riverwalk, this place was great to come back too. If you want a real quite place look no further.'

'Great house, the owners, Micheal/Leah had everything prepared when we arrived. We had 12 guys there for a golf tournament near by, Micheal even set up a small driving range for us off the back porch, a mini “Top Golf”. Beautiful property, especially at night with all the lights around the property.'
